Dr,Susan Ettinger is unprofessional. unfriendly. and rude. I have never seen anyone talk down to kids or parents. In front of other patients, she shouted at us. She is not fit to be a doctor and a health care provider. The staff is equally bad. I think she has taught them to be as rude as her.Horrible, horrible, horrible practice. There are other nicer doctors and practices in the area. If you feel your kids deserve the best, please DO NOT choose her to be your pediatrician.

My kids absolutely love Dr. Sue. She quite clearly holds the kids best interest in mind. She does have strong opinions and does not hold back in stating them for the sake of the children's well-being. From other reviews on this site, it would appear that this might not be for everybody. I, on the other hand, respect her opinion and take very seriously the recommendations given by her.

If you are looking for somebody who holds great value in the care and well-being of your child, this is the doctor for you. If you are more interested in a doctor who tells you what you want to hear in lieu of your child's best interest, look elsewhere.

brought my 6 month old son in for a severe cough multiple times, was told that he was fine and all kids get sick. Finally got to see the Dr. instead of the nurse practioner and she thought he might have whooping cough. She told me the test takes a couple of days, turns out it's about 2 weeks. A pediatrician that doesn't know who long the test is for whooping cough. People if you want your kids to stay healthy stay away from this place!

Wow, I don't go to Dr. Ettinger never have, but my next door neighbor did and she made all sorts of comments that she believed her son looked mongoloued and sent her for testing. Actually, he had many of her family's characteristics and did not base it on anything else apparently then facial features (eyes). Which could be tell tale ordinarily but did not have any other indicators. She said she had a more "naturalistic" view on treatment. Did not recommend an antibiotic to her son's persistent ear infections until I convinced her to see my doctor. The poor kid suffered for months. I am a mother of 4 and had seen it and she obviously took an MD's opinion but the poor kid suffered for months, then cleared up within a week after she switched and got him on antibiotics. Dr. YARNOFF at Lansdale Ped. Assc. is AMAZING, she is more then just a doctor, you can truly see her maternal instincts combined with her top notch medical training makes for an exceptional combination of care. Along with a very sweet demeanor.

This practice came highly recommened by several friends but after 2+ years with the practice, it is time for a change. Questions are answered in a condescending manner, scheduling is ridiculous when you have a sick child (a good night's rest cures all? Give me a break), the staff changes over quickly, and the support for breast feeding is a joke. Their idea of lactation support is referring you to someone in Skippack or telling you that your child has, "chicken legs" and needs formula asap. Well visits are fine but forget about going here if you need a sick appointment or take your child to the ER and want them to be seen as a follow up. Incredibly unprofessional. There are PLENTY of good pediatricians out there. THIS IS NOT ONE OF THEM!!!!

Any doctor or person who is in a position of being a center of influence that spends time on social network websites criticizing people who they don't even know is not someone I want my kids being cared for.

Dr. Ettinger is wonderful. She loves my little girl, Gabriella, and spends time discussing my daughters needs with me without me feeling rushed. She is a natural with children and truly cares about her patients. Dr. Carol is wonderful as well as the staff. Very helpful and informative.

I asked Dr. Ettinger if my infant son was required to recieve the oral rotovirus vaccine. Her reply was, "unless you want him to get sick and possibly die you do." He received the dose, but then I left to go to another ped. I asked the new ped if he should receive the other recommened doses of the vaccine. She told me that their office does not reccomend the vaccine as it was in the experimental phase.

We followed Dr. Ettinger from a horrible practice in Horsham as she opened her own practice at Cowpath. She was very caring and spot on in treating our three very young children. We moved the kids to our family physician's office. I tired of hearing about her bitter divorce proceedings but mostly it was the one extremely rude front office clerk that drove us away.

We have been taking both of our sons to this practice since birth. I have had nothing but positive experiences. My youngest has been very ill and both doctor's were right on top of his condition and sent us for further testing and specialists without hesitation. I have never had a problem getting an appointment. When my youngest was admitted to the hospital, Dr. Ettinger checked in on us every morning. I find all the staff very helpful and knowledgeable.

We've had the opposite experience than the last two reviewers. We've been going there since 2005. We have had excellent care, excellent advice and always treated with kindness. Have had no problems with call backs or what we might feel are emergencies. Without Dr. Ettinger's advice, both of my children would not be able to see clearly - this not detected by two previous docs... I'd have to say thanks many times over.

I was able to summise how she would be when she walked into the room, did not introduce herself or reply in kind to my introduction to myself and my daughter. Let's face it, all of us who grumble on these pages have hopped from ped to ped because they treat us moms like we are idiots. If we insist on an appointment or a test we have munchhausen by proxy. If we want to postpone or forego a vaccination we are child abusers. If we are weepy after giving birth we have post partum depression. It is the staff in the offices that are most important because if your child had a real problem I urge you to get them out of Lansdale and head to CHOP asap.

I had the same negative experience as others. The utter lack of respect and caring is simply unbelievable. Routine office visits were fine. However, when our baby was sick and needed help during after-hours, we were treated with complete rudeness and disregard. I will never trust this practice again.

We have been taking our two children (10 months and 2 1/2 years) to Drs Ettinger and Kleback since they were born. We could not have asked for a better environment for our children and resource for us as parents. They take the extra time to explain what is going on and are very responsive no matter what time of day or night. They are very adept at connecting with the children in a very positive and appropriate way while also demonstrating their concern and compassion. Additionally, we could not ask for a more knowledgeable and responsive nursing and administrative staff. I am always amazed at how quickly they return phone calls, provide such comprehensive responses and connect with the kids during their visits.

Despite some of the other reviews, I would strongly recommend Cowpath Pediatrics. We have taken our son to Dr. Ettinger and Dr. Klebak since birth and he is now two. Dr. Ettinger is very straight forward and doesn't always sugar coat things, and we are appreciative of this. My son was quite sick in his first six months, and we were in the office nearly every week. We never had a problem making a sick appointment and were encouraged to call anytime with questions. I was having recurrent breast infections, and although the pediatrician was not technically supposed to treat me for this problem, the office was VERY supportive. They called my house throughout the infection to check on me and referred me to lactation consultants for additional support. When my son struggled with bronchialitis and then pneumonia, Dr. Ettinger responded to our calls on a Sunday and then saw us in the hospital during the week.

Over 2 years, we've had a positive experience, so I would encourage any of my friends and family to see the doctors at Cowpath.

I have been taking my daughter to Dr. Ettinger for almost 2 years and never had a problem; until I had to call in the middle of the night when my daughter had a low fever with vomiting - she was incredibly rude and condescending and made us feel like we should not have called. This was the first time my daughter had been sick (and she has a heart condition) and we wanted to make sure it was nothing serious. We will NEVER go back to her. As parents, we deserve a doctor who takes our concerns seriously and will reassure us in a respectable way.

We switched pediatricians to Cowpath Pediatrics when my daughter was just over 1yr old. I spoke at length regarding why we were leaving the first practice and she assured me on every level that Cowpath was the place for her.

I would have given her high marks through my daughter's fourth birthday. She was responsive to my questions and concerns and never treated me like an airhead parent. We were partners in my daughter's healthcare.

Maybe she was having a bad day when we came in for our four year visit but she was rude to me and to my daughter. She stated multiple times that some of the decisions that we had made for our child's health care would no longer be tolerated in "new" patients...but she would "let" us stay since we're there already.

I was HORRIFIED at her behavior. My daughter was petrified of her ... after being called a baby and chastised by Dr. Ettinger. I don't tolerate that kind of behavior from anyone who interacts with my children... especially their pediatrician!

You can do MUCH better than Dr. Ettinger.

I have been bringing my two children to Cowpath Pediatrics for six years and couldn't be happier with this choice. The personnel are all intellingent and friendly, and always fit patients in for quick checks when necessary. Dr. Susan Ettinger has been available to speak with at all hours of the day and night, and has been right-on with her diagnosis for a number of problems we have encountered. I highly recommend Cowpath Pediatrics for anyone seeking quality care for their child.

I visited the office 2 weeks before my due dat. The first thing I noticed was that the waiting area was seperated into "sick" and "well," something I've never seen before in any doctor's office. During my consult, Dr. Ettinger told me that ot's a gppd way to help contain germs that get onto benches and toys, to keep sick kids from getting sicker and well kids from getting sick. Of course the toys migrate, so they are cleaned daily. The office itself is bright and cheery.

My daughter ended up being post-dates, and spent 5 days in NICU due to inhasling meconium. Technically because the NICU had taken over her care, Dr. Ettinger wasn't required to check in on us at the hispital. However, she visited me, and had already checked in with the neonatologist as to my daughter's status and progress.

My daughter's first pediatrics visit was 2 days after her release from the hospital. Dr. Ettinger answered all my new-mom "what's that wheezing?" questions, and displayed a greeat sense of humor with me and good rappor with my infant. She also told me about 2 other breastfeeding holds that both lactation specialists in the hospital had failed to teach me (we're struggling with this, because my daughter had IVs and later was bottle-fed in the NICU). She reassured me that formula and pumping my milk were fine for my daughter, so long as I could keep up on the pumpiing.

I went to this office with my newborn as a first time mom and left in tears. The doctor was not supportive of breastfeedning, refered to my 1 week old as "scrawny chicken legs" and insisted I supplement with formula. she also insisted I come back evey 4 days to have the baby weighed. I changed doctors, continued to breastfeed and have a healthy thriving daughter who by 6 months was off the charts for height and weight (over 95%age) THis doctor lacked concern for emotional needs of new mom and what is best for the baby.

PROS: convenient
CONS: poor judgement
