before you can criticize someone, learn how to SPELL. Because when you cannot spell their name right, or other simple words, it really does not support your view, and makes you look like a complete idiot. So for the record LEARN HOW TO SPELL!!!!!

She is pretty one-sided in her approach like most doctors are.
She says what she has to say, sometimes good but not sure if she understands the whole scenario. I have been there for few months and if I see any good results I will respect her better. So far the crazy wait time outside and inside and mediocre results are not sufficient me for to give very high rating.

If you go more than once to a doctor you don't like, i'd say you're the one with the problem. Did she physically harm you? Treat me bad once, shame on you, treat me bad again, shame on me!

Sad, these reviews.

Honestly, I think Dr Poliak is probably a very intelligent lady and a good Dr, but I will have to say she does not allow you the time or opportunity to explain your problem, ask questions, etc. In my opinion - I am the employer in this situation. I have chosen her to supply services that she has gone to school to sell. She bills my insurance company, she charges me a copay and I expect to be treated as respect and will do my best to give it in return.

Every person is unique. Every person's skin may react differently and every person may take other drugs or have other conditions that must be considered when treating a patient as a WHOLE, not just a condition.

Skin conditions and concerns are more than just a quick answer and a textbook fix. They can also be frightening, debilitating and a sudden onset of a new problem may warrant a discussion, between equals. This breeds a trusting relationship between caregiver and the person who is trusting them with their issues.

MY Healthcare is MY responsibility to understand and help manage. I am not entirely ignorant of medical issues and do not expect to be treated as such.

I have had multiple biopsies with Dr Poliak due to precancerous conditions and also Hives. I have returned to her because she has my history and my records for comparisons. I'd prefer not to jump from Dr to Dr, starting over with explanations and pleading my case when the Dr I chose in the first place should be able to maintain an ongoing relationship in a respecful, intelligent way without my leaving the office and feeling frustrated, angry and talked down to.

EVERYONE is responsible for their behavior, even Dr's. If I can attempt to understand and work with her quirkiness, I expect the same respectful consideration from her as well. Dr's are just humans, not Gods sent here to minimize their patient's concerns or talk to them as if they are imbeciles.

I would much prefer waiting in her exam room while she takes an extra 10 minutes with the patient before me, knowing she will allow me that same 10 minutes IF I happen to need it that day.

She has a lot to learn about the emotional aspect of patient care. ALOT.

Never will I go back to see Poliak nor will I suggest anyone I know to see her. She was rude and did not listen to my concerns about acne scarring. She treated me like I was just another person with a history of acne. We don't all fall under one category and need the same treatment. She made me feel stupid when I didn't understand the medical terms she was using. I waited over 40 mins. and in the 4 mins I saw her, she litterally used the words, "That's shi**y," when I explained my financial issue and treated me like I should have known all about acne scarring treatment. IF I did know all there was to know, we wouldn't need doctors, right? I have never felt so belittled by anyone in the medical field. I do not feel she cared about my concerns one bit. I wasted my time and money visiting her office.

I've got to say after reading some of the reviews on here I thought about cancelling my appointment but I'm glad I didn't. She is not from the US so her demeanor is different but I found Dr. Poliak to be thorough, efficient and rather funny. We cracked a few jokes back and forth while she was examining me. She explained my condition and even said to call her if the meds she prescribed were too expensive. I think what people perceive as rudeness is just cutural differences between Americans and Europeans. I think she is great and I would highly recommend her.

I have come to love Dr. Poliak. When I first saw her it was with my Mother, age 84. She was recommended by my internist. She was rather brusque with me, but so caring with my Mother. I asked the nurse if she liked her. She said,"If you want the best, see Dr. Poliak, you're not looking for a new friend." Dr. P. had diagnosed my Mother's condition and gotten her the very best surgeon for her facial skin cancer. I see her now, and trust her completely. Sometimes she is hard to get into immediately, but in an emergency, she's worked me in within a day or so. Some of you may have been having a bad day and did not want to hear you may have been at fault for your condition. Or maybe you caught her on a day she had just been treated badly by one of you. Again, you are not looking for a friend but a cure, but I also found a very caring person. She's great.

I find it fascinating that the main complaint about Dr. Poliak is NOT about anything medical, but about the PERSONAL.... The first and only time I visited this dermatologist (after going to another one and having a skin care products line pushed on me - how obvious of a side business is THAT?), the waiting room was PACKED, predominately with an older patient demographic. I was seen within a REASONABLE amount of time after waiting in both the "waiting room" (Funny how it's called that!) and in the patient's room and Dr. Poliak took care of my issues (yes, there were two of them) briskly and pleasantly.

Perhaps because I've been to foreign countries, have done business with and taught foreigners, I was not offended by and did not take personally Dr. Poliak's lack of "hand-holding" and idle chit-chat. Also because I've been a patient of doctors in a foreign country, I was aware of the difference in style in the doctor-patient relationship. I'm not excusing Dr. Poliak's perceived lack of warmth or time spent discussing issues, I'm just saying that it seems like in the U.S., we've gone out of our way to bring medical professionals "DOWN" to the patients' level in that we seem to think that we should be able to chat them up or expect lengthy examinations (if we only scheduled for something brief - there IS a difference in billing there!) just BECAUSE we in the same room together (finally!). In many other countries, however, there is still a great divide and level of respect that is given to people who have spent YEARS in training, especially in a specialty like dermatology.

if you were referred to Dr. Poliak, either by your regular physician or a friend, chances are it's because she is GOOD at what she does: treating dermatological issues. This is also probably why she's always so booked and in a rush to get to the next patient. Deal with it or just go find another doctor.

Going to visit Dr. Poliak was the worst physician experience I've ever had. After waiting an hour and a half past my appointment time, I saw Dr. Poliak for about two minutes and all she did was badger me about using tanning beds (which I only did a few times back in college more than six years ago). When I tried to talk to her about the problem I came in for, she kept insisting I use tanning beds, despite my fair complexion, and regardless, it was completely unrelated to the reason I was seeing her. I don't think she even deserved my copay.

Originally my daughter started seeing Dr. Poliak for a unique issue with warts. After having been seen by several other doctors, we realized Dr. Poliak knew what she was doing. She was the expert that was able to shrink a 28-cluster wart from her toe that was causing her to stop playing sports. After that I began to see her for my acne as well. Over seven years later, I went to see her for a check-up, but she said I didn't look right and should go see my internist that day. She literally saved my life, because I ended up having a life-threatening health condition and it was caught in time. If she had not been so persistent (some people might say pushy) or quick to judge me (some people might say rude) I wouldn't have stopped my life to realize there were signs that I had health issues. She is extremely good at what she does and is observant about behavior and skin issues. She pushed me to go see a doctor that day, which I never would have taken the time to do if anyone else had said something because I wouldn't have listened! Working mothers don't have time to worry about themselves!
Dr. Poliak is very experienced, thorough and must check you often to ensure you don't have reactions to the medicine you take. It is her job and it has nothing to do with insurance. She is Austrian I think and maybe some would think she does not have good bedside manner, but her job is to analyze problems and find a solution. With that, she does her job in the top of her field. If you want a doctor that can help you (not give you warm fuzzies) than she is perfect!

My husband was referred to Dr Poliak and was very impressed with her knowledge and diagnosis to his condition. I made an appt and felt the same way. The staff is very friendly and helpful. You don/t find that very often in Dr's offices. Dr P is a fast talker and a no nonsense kind of woman. I actually appreciated the fact that even tho the waiting room was full, I did not have to wait long. She answered my questions satisfactorily and I will remain her patient

I have gone to poliak several times and referred several friends to her--only because they needed to see someone FAST and she gets you in the same week. My friends canned her after their first visit, even my husband said never again. Today, I just left my appt and will not be returning either.

I went in for a rash and the entire time she went out of her way to be rude, belittle me and make rude comments about my skin. The entire time, I was thinking, I am so done with this doc. It is no wonder you can get in within the same week to see her. Good dermos take weeks, months to see!

A few things she is consistent about...don't even think about asking questions about a spot on your skin other than what the appointment was for. And when the appointment is almost over, she demands you come back in 2 weeks. To me, that is a total money making ploy that she does. She also only prescribes pricy drugs and then berades you for wanting to try generics.

I'm been to many good dermotologists and Dr. Poliak doesn't even come close to the quality of care I have received in the past. Never again will I return....NEVER!

I'm a new patient, with two visits under my belt. She is a fast talker, but it is because she knows what she is doing. Why would she want to listen to me go on and on about what I think it might be, or how I think I got it or what another doctor told me he thought it was? She already knows what it is and knows what to do about it. And I think that is a good thing!I have found the staff to be very friendly and helpful, both in person and on the phone. I have not had any problem getting an appointment. My only complaint is that I had to wait an hour, after my appointment time, before I was seen. BUT, now I know and can plan accordingly. I would rather wait an hour to see someone that is knowledgeable and proficient, than wait five minutes for some other dermatologists PA to misdiagnose me.I would recommend her and have, to my mother and husband. The two most important people in my life.

I have seen Dr. Poliak for about 10 years for different problems. The first time I saw her was for skin tags and a small growth on the side of my nose. She took very good care of me then and on later visits. Since I am an existing patient I have never had to wait more than a couple of days to see her. She does seem hurried, but has always discussed whatever I was concerned about. Last time I went in for rosacea, but also had her look at some moles I was concerned about. I feel she knows her business.

I have been going to Dr. Poliak for about 5 years now. It's true that she is not one for chit-chat, nor is she one to be trying to get you to do Botox, or Collagen implants or any of that stuff. I do believe that she genuinely cares about skin, and she knows her stuff when it comes to that. If you are looking for someone to take care of the skin you are in...and keep you from getting melanoma...she is the one for you. If you are looking for someone to get you looking 25 when you are 55 - she may not be the one. Don't expect a sweet, gentle conversationalist - you will not get one here...but you will get a thorough check up, great care, and peace of mind.

I advise anyone that is looking for a Dr. in the Dallas area DO NOT GO TO DR. POLIAK. SHE IS EXTREMELY RUDE-in and out of the room with in 3 minutes, after talking down to you. She has no idea what bed side maner is, she doesn't let you speak, not a people person, she's just an awful Dr. As far as these people that are giving her good reviews. They must work for her or are a part of her family. I don't see anyone in their right mind that would give her or her staff a good review. I've seen her twice and both times were horrible The ONLY reason I went back was to get medication and surprise, surprise it was just as bad as the first visit.

My pediatrician referred me to this doctor for my 2yo's skin condition which no other doctor had been able to solve including a so called pediatric dermatologist. In one visit the problem was resolved. I don't go to a doctor for lively conversation I go there for results. I made an appointment for myself today. If you are going to the doctor to chat you should book an appointment with a therapist instead.

I have gone to Dr. Poliak for 2-3 years now. She is not one to small talk much. In my opinion, that is not her personality nor is there adequate time to do so. BUT I am there because she is GOOD at what she does. She has helped me with precancerous skin issues and the treatments have been slower than she would have liked due to my hesitation. She can see and feel problems that I never see. She finally convinced me to do a more aggressive treatment and it showed me that she was right all along. Was it fun, absolutely not but the result is great. I am thrilled to be with her and highly recommend her. Put up with the sometimes rudeness. You're there for a bigger reason and she warms up to you over time. I've recommended her to my friends and family and I thank her for her experience. Mike H.

My cousin referred me to Dr. Poliak after I left a previous dermatologist, and so I googled her to see what people thought. After reading the awful reviews, I couldn??t help but wonder what to expect when I went for my appointment. I thought she must be a terribly foul person, considering the nasty things people said about her.
I was fortunate to get an appointment three days after I called.
I went to Dr. Poliak??s with much hesitation, imagining a very rude and uncaring doctor.

However, my visit was nothing short of pleasant. Dr. Poliak came in, and yes, she was a bit in-your-face, but she knew EXACTLY what she was doing. Of course, she has 20+ years of experience.
She quickly deduced what my skin condition was and prescribed something to help.

I am a fairly good judge of character, and while some people seem to think she is the rudest person they've ever had the chance to encounter, she truly is a nice person.
She was very jovial and quirky, and her manner was more concerned grandmother than pushy doctor.

Please don't let other reviews phase you when deciding whether or not to visit Dr. Poliak. It doesn't hurt to make an appointment and see for yourself that she is very professional and knows what she's doing.

This is the Rudest Doctor that I have ever been to, including her office staff. The receptionist has to be the nastiest most hateful person that I have ever met! And the Office manager DONNA is just as bad. Im in the Real Estate business and if I were to ever talk to a client like that I would no longer be employed. I will never refer anyone to this office ever. To add to that, you would think a dermatologist would take a little better care of themselves, how can I trust someone to help me with my skin when they look like they have not showered in weeks.

If you're looking for "TV" personality Dr.'s that make you feel all warm inside then watch Dr. OZ on OPRAH. If you want a Dr. that has been practicing for a looong time and can make a very thorough and quick assessment of your skin problems then go see Dr. Poliak. People don't know a great Dr. when they see one in this day and age. I saw Dr. P yesterday for something on my face. She was thorough, knowledgeable, and able to make a quick diagnosis. Dr.'s are unable to spend lots of "quality" time with patients today. It's not their fault it's the insurance companies fault.

Dr. Poliak may appear to be hurried and abrasive to some first time patients. I've been her patient for nine years. Now, I find her very warm, conversational, and concerned. I have tried three other dermatologists during those nine years because they were much closer and more convenient, but I keep going back to her. Here's why... SHE DISCOVERS ISSUES THE OTHER THREE DOCTORS MISSED.

I just got a head-to-toe exam with Dr. Poliak on 7/7/08. She and her assistant spent around thirty minutes with me. My recurring pre-growth cancerous areas had stopped, because I finally started to accept responsibility for my own healthcare and follow her recommendations... using certain brands of razor blades, using sunscreen every day, whether I am going to be in the sun or not, etc.

A shrinking violet she is not, but a more than competent doctor? Absolutely.

I have gone to Dr. Poliak several times and have found her to be rude and rather nasty. She doesn't have much patience and doesn't spend much time with you. In fact, she barely stops long enough to look at me, other than to tell me my roseaca is all my fault from sitting in the sun (which I haven't really done much) and that I can take some treatment someone in her office does, but does not even seem to think it would help, Her whole demeanor is unfriendly and very negative. I am no pussycat and like straight talk, but she takes the prize for being the most rude doctor I have ever encountered.

Not only is she rude, she doesn't care about her patients. After waiting over 30 minutes for her in the room she came in and blew off my problem like it was nothing and did NOT treat the issue that I originally came in for. Then, as a side question about my skin (she is a dermatologist, after all) she barked at me that I needed to make another appointment and come back. I was pissed at that point. After regretfully paying my co-pay I stormed out telling the girls at the front that I was never coming back (oddly, they didn't seem as if that was the first time hearing that.) Because that is insurance fraud, to bill them for treating something that they did not, my mother called and asked to speak with the office manager. Not only did the office manager never call her back, whoever answered the phone was horribly rude also.

I strongly recommend NOT going to Dr. Poliack, she is awful. No bedside manner whatsoever and frankly a waste of your time. I finally found a great dermatologist in Carrollton, Dr. Jon Pruett. He's really nice, helps you and you can ask him multiple questions in one visit unlike Hitler Poliack.

Not a pleaseant experience at all. In and out very fast. Very abrupt in her conversation with a patient.

I was really disappointed by the fact that she would not answer any questions related to second problem I had, she wanted me to schedule another appointment to be able to make more money I guess.

I have been a patient of Dr. Poliak's for the past four years. My personal experience of both Dr. Poliak and her office staff has been nothing less than professional and compassionate.

Dr. Poliak has treated me with utmost respect each time she checks my entire body head to toe for any signs of melanoma - even if I do not have a babysitter and have to arrive to the office with my 5 1/2 year old son and 2 year old boy-girl twins in tow. My father has been diagnosed with melanoma and I have a mole on the inside of one of my toes, so I am at risk.

One must first understand that in this world of HMOs and PPOs now (managed care), it does take awhile for a patient, new or return, to obtain an appointment for any physician. There are only so many hours in a day, and only so many openings for patients available.

Time and attention were given to me during my appointment by Dr. Poliak and her nurse. Extra care was made to ensure I knew exactly why I was being prescribed the medicines I was given a script for. Dr. Poliak is up on the latest medications that are available for my disease - eczema. I appreciate the time and attention I receive during my appointments with Dr. Poliak.

Please do not let the rantings of a disgruntled person's opinion sway you if you yourself have not yet had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Poliak.

Worst dermatologist ever. I just went for acne and psoriasis. First the assitant/nurse did not ask all questions, and the doctor came in with a new nurse. Dr. Susana looked at me from one feet away, and abruptly made her diagnosis. She hardly talked to me and just kept on speaking. She was also upset that I came in with two problems. The only reason, I could think of was that maybe she would get paid more for two visits versus one.

She was abrupt in giving me prescription also, seemed like she just wanted to get out. The visit and prescriptions cost me a fortune(though I have a good plan).

I got allergy all over my face (burnt face, itching, and swelling) & upset stomach the first day. I called the office in the evening. She blamed it all on me that I came in with two problems. I went back a day after, and she refused to accept that it was allergy & said that it was because I had psoriasis, and because I wanted to be treated for both in one visit. I had very very minor psoriasis and nothing on my face, anyway.

I had though she would great doctor with 30 years of experience, but turned out to be very unprofessional, greedy, rude, and with penchant for giving out medicines without caring how it would suit a particular patient.
