.

I have seen my share of opthalmologists and optometrists over 30 years of wearing contacts. My last was nearing retirement, so I decided to find a new one. I tried Dr. Krisciunas. Big mistake. Making a reservation at Casey Eye Institute requires patience; their schedule is booked out for as much as two months. So I arrived about ten minutes early to my appointment and was called back about twenty minutes later -- not a big deal. Then I waited. And I waited. And waited. Nearly forty-five minutes into my appointment, Krisciunas finally flies in the door going a million miles an hour. After a very brief handshake, she barely notices that I'm in the room for the rest of the brief appointment. I couldn't keep up with her. I couldn't get my chin onto the rest quickly enough for her. I couldn't answer her "Is this one better, or that one?" questions fast enough. She barely gave me a fraction of a second on each power setting. I tried to engage her, but not a chance. She must have had a million other patients and wasn't interested in my existence, let alone my eyes.

Several days before my follow-up appointment, I learn that Krisciunas has suddenly canceled due to a "change of plans". When I call to reschedule, I'm moved out another month -- with no contacts to wear in between. Then, two days before my already rescheduled follow-up, I get another call asking me to change it again. This time, they agree to "squeeze me in" sooner. Again, I arrived before my appointment. Dr. Krisciunas didn't even look at me. An office helper went to fetch her, saying "Let's see if Krisciunas actually needs to see you." As if I hadn't come in specifically to be checked by her! Geez! The helper comes back and says, "I'll just check you myself." The helper then pretends to use the machine in a rush -- I really don't think she knew what she was doing -- then she sends me on my way with no information, no answers, no assurances; just a bill. I never even see Dr. Krisciunas. What a rip off.

Pros: New equipment, nice location.

Cons: Terrible service; no attention to details; run like a puppy mill; no respect for schedules.
