.

I recently had 3 level lumbar decompression surgery performed by Dr. Tang, assisted by his P.A., Terri Pagano. (Right L3-4, Bilateral L4-5, and Left L5/S1). While it's too early to tell exactly how successful it was, so far I am very pleased with the results. During my initial consult with Dr. Tang, he explained all of my options at length, both surgical and non-surgical, and answered all of my questions fully. (I had a long list...) He also explained in great detail how he planned to perform the surgery, and the associated risks vs. benefits. While I was in pre-op, he visited me again and went over everything again. I felt that I went into the operation fully informed. During my 3 day stay at Alta Bates Hospital, I was visited several times by Dr. Tang and/or his P.A., Terri Pagano. They made sure my pain was being addressed, and any other needs or concerns were being taken care of by the hospital staff. (they were)
If I had to to this over again, I would absolutely choose Dr. Tang and his staff to take care of me.
I am a health care professional myself, (Endoscopy Technician), and I have worked with a multitude of physicians, good and bad. Dr. Tang is by far one of the best doctors I've ever dealt with, on every level. I give him the highest possible recommendation. If spine surgery can be a pleasant experience, (trust me, it's not), Dr. Tang and his staff did everything possible to make it so. World class care, no doubt about it.
