My son went to Dr. Solari from newborn until he was 6 years old. We went through a problem with his hearing and a hearing test was performed. However, our insurance refused to pay for this test and we asked the staff to resubmit the claim after talking to Insurance and they said they would pay the claim. My husband changed jobs within this time period and we moved out of state...Insurance never paid this bill which was only for $70. We were unaware that this happened until we applied for credit to build our home and I had a Dr Collection on my credit report! Almost a 4 year time lapse until this bill was known and it was paid to fix my credit report (which this was the only blemish on my credit) To get to present day, we had to move back to this area for my husbands job and I called to get an appointment for my son. The receptionist who answered the phone took the name and put me on hold...then came back on the phone to inform me they would not accept my son as a patient because we had an unpaid bill that was paid through a collection! I was furious! The staff member was rude and snotty and told me I should have paid my bill but this was their policy! I informed her of the situation that occured and I was unaware due to moving out of state for almost 7 years but that was not good enough for them. The rudeness was unbelievable! I can't believe that they would turn away a sick child because of money. This is a lesson on how to choose a Dr who will care for your child and give him proper treatment regardless of monetary gain or what type insurance you have. God forbid if a child is on medicaid! That child would probably not get the treatment or tests needed that a more fortunate child would receive because they are all about the money! I think it is unfortunate for Dr. Solari to have a staff and a wife who are so rude to his patients because he is a very nice man! I have just had one encouter with his staff and (his wife who works with billing) and I can't trust him with my child when he surrounds himself with people of this caliber. By the way, we have excellent insurance coverage with our jobs and are a professional couple who pay our bills, this was a mishap that happened that we were unaware of (yet paid when we found out) and was treated like trash!
So, to sum it up this is a Dr. who is concerned more with the money than the treatment of your child! Do not take your child here!
