To respond to Juanita W. - we are not your Primary Care Physician. Your husband and yourself threatened our staff by saying, " you would end the practice" and since you have a gun in procession and came to the clinic later that day- a police officer has been notified and you were under video surveillance and your conversation was recorded as we had mentioned to your husband, who posed to be a commanding officer in the military, but the military- which we came to find out from Tricare was not true. Our staff was very patient and after being yelled at and threated put the phone down as we could not do anything further as to assist you. We have been taking care of Tricare Patients for fifteen years and we are aware of the differences. New rules have come into effect in 2013 and so all we had suggested is that we call Tricare to confirm if you were our patient in order to do the referral. We an not do the referral over the weekend when other offices are closed and we can not do a referral if you are not our patient. Before you say more lies about our clinic, be aware that you are being monitored by S.A.P.D. You and your family are not to enter the premises and have been given a letter stating we can not see you now or in the future. Thank you.

I was to receive a referral to an orthopedic dr. When I called back to find out about the referral there was confusion with his office staff. A woman then proceeded to tell me they couldn't give me a referral. She was consued about tricare-prime and standard. I am standard. She thought they only saw prime and standard has to be seen on Post. Which, the opposite is true, as Prime is generally seen on post only. While trying to explain this to her, she called me a B*#ch and hung up on me. I called back to find out why she behaved in that manner and was told I could not be seent there again..... My husband called, she identified herself as his wife, which is disturbing to say he least. She also admitted to my husband that she called me the vulgar name.

I thought I only had a cold and a possible flu- Dr. Tharakan took care of me and it turned out I was suffering from pnemonea after Dr. David Tharakan evaluated me and ordered a chest x-ray. I didn't have to wait long at all and the staff were really friendly. The electronic medical recording system is really advanced. My antibiotics were waiting for me in the pharmacy through eprescribing when the visit was done. Mrs. Tharakan works really hard and is a joy to talk to when she gets time away from her responsibilities in the back office. I know other patients are happy too. So many come in saying " thanks for finding my cancer and saving my life". I have asked for my statement before and a running balance with what my insurance covers and what they paid for is always listed. I don't know what some people's problems are, but I think the fact that there are some patients who are suffering from psychiatric problems should tell you that you can't always go by what you see on the internet.

I've been a patient of Dr. Tharkan's for about a year and have been happy with him and his staff until the last couple of months. Now it is impossible to get through to anyone or to get a return phone call. That is why, today, when I went in for my appointment, I tried to talk to someone about my bill. I had a question about it and had called three times to straighten it out but got no return call. Today in the office I was having a civil discussion about it with the receptionist and someone I thought was from the billing department when a large lady came storming out of her office. She ranted and raved at me while I stood there (stupidly) crying. I asked her why she was talking to me like that and she straightened up, looked at me straight in the eye, and said, "Because I can". I asked her if this was worth losing three patients over and she said, "Definately" and walked off. Her poor employees just stood there with their eyes down. I went back around the front to pay the 150 dollars so important to her (she threatened to send me to collections tomorrow) and just asked who talks to people that way? Then I began a conversation with the allergist on staff there. Out of no where, she comes storming at me and asks if I have a problem or something to say about her relationship with her husband! I told her I don't even know who your husband is. She proudly told me, "Dr. Tharakan. The DOCTOR is my husband. Good luck finding another doctor." She turned around and walked off. I am still dumbfounded by this. I pay my co pay every single time I come in, I never miss appointments nor am I ever late. It was not only uncalled for, it was abusive. So, between the inablitiy to get through to the doctor or the billing department, the high turn over rate of the staff, the long waits (it's usually about half hour to 45 minutes now) and the abuse freely dished out by the doctor's wife, I say, don't go here! There are plenty of doctors in San Antonio. It was a surreal experience.
