One of the best and most caring physicians I've ever seen. Dr Hurd is excellent for his knowledge of Fibromyalgia in the Atlanta area, and is serious about trying various treatment options and taking his patients needs seriously. He's happy to consult and work with other physicians who are experts in ME/CFS and/or researchers in Fibromyalgia & ME/CFS, as well as willing to work with your other local doctors. He is also willing to listen to his patients own research and to look up and consider treatment ideas they bring up, which I've found to be very rare, especially in Atlanta. In addition to medication and interventional procedures, Dr Hurd is also highly skilled in acupuncture and acupressure. At times the office runs somewhat slowly or gets behind, as it is a fairly large and busy practice, but I don't usually feel rushed when seeing Dr Hurd, and if I speak up with questions or concerns he takes the time to address and discuss them before he moves on. That said, he does make extensive use of his Physician's Assistants and Nurse Practitioners for stable patients, and some of them are better/nicer than others. Emily (one of his NP's) is among the best and routinely goes out of her way to ensure patients are well taken care of. For anyone with Fibromyalgia or other chronic pain issues I can not recommend Dr Hurd strongly enough. Make no mistake however, THIS IS NOT a "pill mill" practice. If all you're looking for is a fast, no-questions asked prescription for pain medicine then don't waste your time or his, but if you want a good, caring MD who takes his patients' pain seriously he's a good choice.
