We have been driving down there from Sherman for the past 5 years. We have tried other offices around the Sherman area and have never found anyone to be any where near as good as Holly. My infant got RSV this past winter and she got him into Childrens Hospital immediately to receive the around the clock care needed. Today, my wife called around 10AM because he has been not well for the last couple of days and they were able to schedule an appt for 2. Most Dr offices, its hard to get a same day appt

Dr. Lemeshev and Dr. Burton are two of the most thourough and thoughtful doctors I have ever been to. We moved here several years ago and have had one with Dr. Burton since birth and 2 older ones. I cant recommend this place enough. I dont understand not communicating directly with the doctors over something, but every single time I talk to Dr. B or L they listen and handle my concerns. I love them! Go AAC!

Refused to See 6 year old (patient from BIRTH!)?? - ?? - Today
My mother took 6 year old boy to Dr. Burton's office in January of this year due to falling while playing football and diagnosed as having a concussion due to symptoms present at the time. Please note, he has been a patient of Dr. Burton's since birth!! Symptoms persisted for many days (as concussion/post concussions can do). She took him back to Dr. Burton's office, because he was continuing to vomit, when getting out of bed each am, after becoming dizzy. In addition, he was acting out of sorts as far as his behavior, even while at school. The teacher called my mom out of concern as well. Dr. Burton told her he had a virus. A virus that causes vomiting ONLY in the morning, when first getting out of bed...for DAYS??? He referred her to a counselor for the behavioral changes. After seeing a counselor for several office visits, the counselor advised my mom that she should go see a neurologist, because she feels could possibly be related to the concussion/head trauma. The neurologist advised my mom that they need a referral from PCP due to their office polices (not related to insurance, as my mom's insurance does not require referrals). My mom called Dr. Burton's office and was told she could bring him in on Friday. Then received another call from the office that they were canceling the appointment because they do not have a "history" of the issues that are being reported to the neurologist, so they cannot provide a referral. Wouldn't this be the PURPOSE of the visit on Friday? To gather information and listen to the CHILD'S issues? Very disappointing. This WAS a physician our family has trusted for TWELVE years!!!! We have taken my 15 year old daughter there since she was 3 as well as my 14 year old sister. We started noticing the changes in his office, no one returning phone calls for DAYS at a time, no response to faxes, etc. We at first tried to be understanding as we understood his practice was expanding and could not receive the "personal" care we had been used to. But really, shouldn't that BE expected from someone you trust with the health of your children?

I have had the best experience at All About Children Pediatrics. They spend so much time making my children feel comfortable and loved. I LOVE Dr. Burton. The only negative I have is that I do wait sometimes. I recommend this practice to all my friends and my family and to you! A+.

In general, the wait times were on par with other dr. offices I have been to - Not great, but bareable. The staff was caring, and up to speed on everything for me and my children & Dr. Burton was excellent in the way he dealt with my daughters which makes me fell at ease.

In the past I have had some difficulty getting the doctor I wanted to see but generally those were when I needed to be seen right away. I have seen 2 other doctors there, and while I prefer Burton, they did a good job. I dont know anything about the PA.

Highly recommend.

Have been going to Dr. Burton for over 8 years and I agree that it is very difficult to get to see him unless you are willing to wait weeks. The practice has gone from a small, warm family type of environment to a major enterprise. I think the care is good but don't go expecting everyone to know your name. Your just another patient.

I love Dr. Burton and what they have done for my kids. We have a unique condition with my oldest and their treatment of her and of our family has been top notch across the board. Thoughtful and caring nurses and staff. There have been hectic times during flu season and long wait times. But I have a rough work schedule and their hours makes scheduling so much easier & gives my wife a break on taking our children to the doctor. Highly recommend.

I just visited this place after leaving another Pediatric office nearby. I have to say WOW! What a difference. They got us in quickly for back to school forms and physicals, and that was AFTER our sick visits.

They were proactive in getting my forms from our previous Pediatrician (WHO CHARGED US FOR OUR CHARTS!.... I think they all do)

The wait was long, but the sign said they are changing their software application and there were a lot of parents with forms..so I guess I was not alone.

I felt compelled to write a review because of the attentiveness of the nurses. They were so kind and interested in my daughters and really listened. My youngest even hugged the MA.

We had a serious illness with BOTH of our daughters... it was diagnosed and treated and cured all by Dr. Burton.

Its the best medical office experience I have had in years....I am reserving the last star for our Well visit coming up.

We have been going to ACCP for 3 + years. We have seen Dr. Burton 1 time. All the other visits (maybe 6 total) were with Holly some assistant. When a daycare worker pushed our 4 year against a wall and bruised his back, she said well his injuries aren't that severe and acted like we should not have brought him in and that we should not have reported it to CPS. He had a large bruise. I thought her response was awful.

Our child is rarely sick so we don't need them often. But I should not have procrastinated. Now that we need a referral for an important issue, ACCP is giving us the run around. It's been nearly two weeks since I took our child in and asked for a referral for a specific test. They said I should have brought him in for "well visits" and that those once a year visits help the doctor get to know him. No doctor there has seen our child more than once, only the PA.

I have called in several times inquiring about the referral over the last 12 days. Finally today, my husband did a conference call with them. After talking to Judy and getting nowhere, she said let me get the doctor for you. We were put on hold and then the voice mail picked up.

ACCP seem most interested in having well visits and no questions.

Given our experience and what I read here, I wonder if I will have to hire an attorney to get medical records we need to go somewhere else.

Not sure what people are seeing, but my kids get hugs and all smiles when they come in. They love Dr. Burton and miss Lindsay and miss Tamie and they know all of my kids by name.My 4yo had serious rash and fever last month. There apparently was a flu endemic in McKinney as there were very many sick children there. We waited but I was communicated with. They assessed the illness and we saw improvement immediately. Its the best bedside manner I have ever seen from any Doctor so I guess I will just scratch my head at the rest.

My experience with Dr. Burton as a fellow citizen has been wonderful. He is a super nice caring man, but when it came to treating my ill child I would flunk him as a doctor.

My son threw up for three days non-stop and he was not given medicine because children under 15 months cannot be treated for vomiting, according to his practice, please give me a break!

I took my son several weeks later to a different practice and asked the new pediatrician if there was anything he could have prescribed my child on our previous incident and his response was "Of course yes!".

Moreover, the new doctor mentioned that children at his practice don't vomit for more than 6 hours in a row. As a mother of a toddler, I was delighted to get a humane response from my new pediatrician.

But TO BE FAIR with all about children's pediatrics, they are great when it comes to physical check-ups, they do a fantastic job. However, when it comes to serious things, like illnesses, please don't spend your money or time visiting their office, not worth it. I will not be going back, I need quality care, when it comes to regular check-ups and emergencies, especially when my child is sick.

I promised myself after my first and experience with this office that I would never go back but my daughter got sick and I hadn't found a new pediatrician yet and I wanted her to be seen before the weekend, fearing that she might get worse over the weekend. So, I decided to try a different doctor. This last visit sealed the deal..never again will I ever take my child back to this office! Not only was the staff rude but the doctor was rude. my daughter was crying and Dr. Smith asked my husband to take her out of the room so that she could talk. No wonder my daughter was crying..she remembered the last time she was at that office!!! Never again!

Both my sons went to AAC. It seems like everyone has a chip on their shoulder when you come in. When you work with children, try to upbeat. I have a wonderful Pediatric dentist, the staff at his office are so much fun and loving towards every child and parent that come through the door. That's what a Pediatrician's office should be also. I found a new pediatrician and so glad I did because it was a bummer to go to the doctor before.

Last weekend my 18 month old daughter was refusing foods had fever of 103.2 and was generally listless. We called at 8.15am monday morning and got in that morning, saw a doctor and had a happy baby laughing and playing by that evening.

I have been coming here for 4 years and if you like quality care by people that love on your kids then this is the place for you. Dr. Burton always addresses my kids first before he talks to me. My girls love him for that and so do we.

I have taken my 3 kids ages 10, 7, and 2 to see Dr. Burton for 9 years. His office has changed over these past 9 years...from going into private practice, new office buildings and new staff. I have seen all of the providers at some point over the years. All of my experiences have not all been great, but I felt like my kids were taken care of very well. It is hard to always get the answers that you are looking for all the time. I think that for me....I just want the quickest way to make my kid feel better. I have been counseled and taught by all the providers in the office that medicine is not always the best way to go...Frustrating at times, I know that they all want what is best for my child.I particularly appreciate Dr. Burton's approach with my kids. He is friendly and patient with my children and ALL the questions that I ask. I NEVER feel like he has one hand on the door trying to get out before I have asked all my questions. I don't mind waiting for him as long as I get the same attention that the person before me got.My kids love the new office and I really like the separate waiting rooms for sick and well patients. I would recommend Dr. Burton and his office to anyone.

My daughters are 8 & 10 and we have been going to AAC for several years now. The staff is extremely helpful and caring. We have seen all the medical staff including the doctors, PA and NP. I trust each of them completely. They are very thorough and take time to listen.

Last Fall when the flu was rampid, my oldest daughter was diagnosed with the flu. Dr. Smith was very proactive with the entire family. Not only did she perscribe Taniflu for our child, she also gave the entire family, including my husband and me, persciptions so that we would not catch it. We didn't even have to ask for it! As a result, our oldest child was the only one that had the flu. We have been told by many people that if one person got the flu, then the rest of the family would get it. Dr. Smith kept the rest of us healthy.

I have been taking my children there for four years and I barely realized this week when my daughter was coughing so hard she couldn't breath that they seem to "Care too much" if that makes sense? I was told by Tara that she didn't feel comfortable giving my (15 year old) daughter cough medicine and that she was just not going to do it? I was really upset and when I asked her more questions she seemed to get upset so I left it alone and took my child to another Dr. who immediately had her admitted to the ER due to a severe lung infection. Tara seemed to be so worried about her and yet and still did not even order Xrays which this other dr. did right away because of the sound of her cough. Had something of happened to my daughter they would not be in business today.
I think alot of you get caught up in the presentation of these women that seem to be so caring with their fake smiles and cute faces that you are forgetting that our children's lives are at stake here!
Another problem I have is where is the Dr.? The licensed Dr.?

I have had nothing but positive experiences at AAC. My 2 1/2 year old daughter has been going since birth and now my 2 month old son is a patient. We primarily see Dr. McConnell (formerly Hooker) and she is wonderful, along with her nursing staff. I have never had an abnormally long wait and I never feel rushed when we are in with the doctor. They also have a lactation nurse on staff which I found very helpful when I had problems nursing my son. This is a first class facility with first class doctors in my experience!

We have been taking our children ages 2 and 4 to All About Children for about a year now. Our kids have been to the doctor about once every 4-6 weeks and we haven't been able to determine why. So far we have been attended only by PA's, no Physicians. When we asked to meet with Dr. Hooker they seemed irritated. We asked to transfer to our family physician. When we asked for our OWN child's medical records, they told us they couldn't release them. After enough requesting with the receptionist, she said she would have to charge us for the records and she couldn't even do that until we had a nurse review the records. We agreed to pay the charge just to get the records and be on our way, but there were no nurses available so we left without getting our full medical records of our child. The receptionist had the records in her hand and told us that our family physician would have to request them from her and she would fax them over.
If you are seeking a personal touch, I would not recommend All About Children in McKinney, TX

I have been taking my daughter to this office since she was 1 day old. She is now nearly 2. She had lots of issues when she was first born with feeding, GERD and a blocked tear duct. We have always been able to make same-day appointments when she is sick. Because of this some of the wait times are long, but it is worth it when the doctor comes in and explains everything and answers your questions in depth. I have never left their office with unanswered questions. They care very much about my daughter and do all that they can to show that. I love Dr. Hooker, but even when she is not available the other care providers are great. Even during her well visits, they take time out to explain her growth charts, the immunizations she is receiving and what milestones she should be at. They also provide a lot of great literature.

After reading these reviews, I felt I had to share my experience. 2 1/2 years ago we were patients at AAC in McKinney. My oldest daughter who is now 4 1/2 started there after she was born. Her 2nd winter (when she was 18 months old) she had horrible ear infections - weekly alternating ears with both oral antibiotics and 2 shots of rocephin each time). She ended up having tubes after 8 weeks and 7 ear infections. This is the good news. The bad news is that Dr. Burton himself after the 5th ear infection told me not to rush her in for surgery - when Holly told me she needs to be seen by an ENT. Thankfully I went with my gut and after the 4th ear infection I got an appt with an ENT for 3 weeks later and we had tubes the next week. After this winter of ear infections I should have been cautious....
Then came horrible winter #2 when she was 2 1/2. My daughter started out with croup in November and was literally coughing until February. We were at AAC every week, sometime 2 or 3 times per week. She started wtih a low grade fever progressing to 102 in February. And she literally coughed ALL night long - I was in her room most nights holding her upright, giving breathing treatments (that did NOT work), etc. By the beginning of January, I kept begging AAC to give her an antibiotic and that no child should cough all the time for no reason - I was told - some kids make themselves cough - WHAT???? My child is lifeless in my arms with a fever and they told me she is "faking it" basically. I insisted on a chest xray and bloodwork - which they said was fine. I asked about a specialist - they said - well maybe. But basically said she had allergies. I was also told to do 3 rounds of albuterol for her if she started coughing and couldn't stop - if I had done this she would have had a heart attack - he heart was in tachticardia after one roung. Never once did AAC offer an alternative bronchodilater of Xopenex which does not have the side effects of a racing heart. To end this long story - in mid February I took her to see Dr. Burton and we walked out of his office at 7 PM that night with him telling us "keep your specialist appt at the allergist - she's fine"- the next morning at 10 AM my husband and I had our daughter at Medical City Children's where she was admitted for 3 days and on full oxygen ALL night the first night with her O2 in the low 80's. (Keep in mind a child should be at 99 - 100% normally). And the culprit for what bad shape she was in - a SINUS INFECTION that went UNTREATED.
So I share all this with you - trust your instincts - I would never take either of my children back to this office for anything. We immediately switched doctors and are amazed at what great care our children have received.

The nurses at the time were great and my oldest daughter who at the time was 2 loved Dr. Hooker, but liking someone is not the same as getting even adequate care.

We had a pediatrician that was okay for well visits, but now with my kids new pediatrician we have an incredible one.

Everytime I go I choose the provider (read doctor) that I want, on the same day that I call in. The only times I have not is when their open times dont fit my schedule, then I get the open provider for the time that I want. They always take same day appointments.

They have always done a great job with my 2 yo daughter. I have never seen a more caring staff. The only downside is the wait times are long. However, they take the time to talk to me and answer my questions when I am back. I will wait for that service all day. On their website they are opening a new office right next door that will be twice the size as their current spot. They must be doing something right with people other than just me.

I've only been here a few times, but I think that this is one of the best Pediatric Offices I have been to. I am really picky about who I take my kids to, and I have seen both Dr. Burton and Dr. Hooker, and think they are fantastic. The entire staff is so friendly and compassionate. I really appreciate that they listen and care. This is one where the name really says it all.

The office staff is very nice and helpful. There was a nurse that I spoke with several times who was wonderful, unfortunately, I do not have her name. We started using All About Children in January 2004. It is now January 2006 and we never once met with Dr. Burton. Every time we called to make appts. for our children, we requested him, but were told he is out of the office, etc. We always saw Holly or Tara or one of the other ladies. The office was always very busy and I had to make sure that we had a lot of time to sit when we went because they took you out of the waiting room and put you in an examination room where you would wait forever for someone to come in.

I have 2 children and of the pediatrician's I have used I have never found one as caring and compassionate as this one. All of the providers know what they are talking about, care about the children and will answer all of my questions. If I have to wait I know that when my children go back there, they will receive the same amount of care and time they need. My 2nd daughter was very ill and there was NEVER a time that her health and well being was compromised. They took excellent care of her and of all her needs. I would recommend this office to anyone that I know if they want their children treated by someone with compassion, experience and care and a staff that is willing to bend over backwards to meet your needs and the needs of your children.

PROS: Excellent and knowledgeable care for children
CONS: None that I can think of

i have never been so upset, his circumsion was wrong, ask ?
Holly who told me, my son and my daughter needed medical assistance immediately and no one cared. I almost lost my son and I am not going to loose my daughter to your negligence. I can not believe a took my kids to a place like this. I am mortified and you are all lucky I do not sue your whole practice, as I should. You should all be ahsamed of yourselves. This is crazy. I will do my best to make sure no one has to deal with the pain and anguish I had to deal with.
Please give children what they deserve. You owe that to them.
Sarah Lattimore

PROS: do not contact me. ypu have wonderfu office staff, I feel sorry for them..
CONS: I have a very big mouth and everyone will know what I feel about your crap

All About Children's Pediatrics fits the bill for my family. Its nice to go to a doctor's visit where I don't feel rushed, the doctors actually talk with you, listen to you, and address your concerns.

They seem to really care.
