After being brought directly to the massage room from the waiting area, I was instructed to take off my clothes and leave them in the corner...if you're going to make me change in the room, at least have a clothes rack/hanger setup for my button-down! But, ok, I went with it and tossed them in a heap. After all, it was a gift. She left the room and once I was prepped under the covers and ready for my massage, she re-entered and my massage began.

It started out...it was more a rubdown than anything. Finally, she did something very strange where she made circles around my cheeks and forehead with her fingertips...it was cool and ticklish for a quick second, but she continued to do it for 5 minutes, which annoyed the hell out of me. And suddenly, it was over. In addition, they over charged me for $ 250 instead of $120, without any notice in advance. they added some strange fees for the oils that they used during the massage, claiming these are unique oils! They would not let you leave until you pay in full whatever they charge you for!

Had a facial and bikini wax, the lady was lovely but not professional, she didn't give me a the spa experience that I payed for. In fact she cut down my time by at least 30 min. She squeezed my face so hard that she literally scraped the skin off my face, I'm in terrible pain a full 24 hourslater.

I called them to merely ask for a refund, I was passed on to the manager, who basically told me she could do nothing for me and didn't even let me finish my complaint, I was told I would have to speak to the woman who gave me the facial, and it was up to her discretion to give me a refund. I'm in actual pain at the moment, I look like I have been injured, I am a young nurse who will have to explain to my patients why my face looks like I have been burned. The facility itself was not very clean, the staff was friendly.

Pros: relatively cheap but not work it!

Cons: unprofessional, not a real spa experience.

Ok people, check this review out because it really is amazing?well, the spa is amazing, I don??t think my writing is up to amazing standards lol. Ok anyway, I won??t even lie, I have been living and working in the valley for a little over 8 years now off and on, and I have seen the ads on bus stops and billboards etc for "Valley Day Spa" and it just looked so clip-art-corny that I never went. Finally, my nail guy continuously is telling me to try the Day Spa on Tampa; Seaweed Body Wrap Spa Review
Ok so I figure what the heck, let me see what it??s about. So I go ahead and book the appointment.

O.M.G!, YOU HAVE GOT TO GO TO VALLEY DAY SPA!

First off, the parking is great. I pulled right into the front and found up front parking. I was greeted by super friendly staff, given a quick tour and before I knew it I was sitting in the jacuzzi chillin out and waiting for my "House Deluxe Special" which includes a full body exfoliation, moisturizing, face mask, hair shampoo, and a 1 hour massage. Fabulous!!!

My tips for the best experience at Day Spa: If your hung up about nakedness, this might not be the best place for you, as it is wide open and the wetroom treatments are not private, there are 4 beds in an alcove in which all treatments take place?but if you don??t mind the public nakedness amongst your gender - then it totally rocks.

Another tip: Don??t go in for a wetroom treatment body exfoliation after a tan, because it will be allll gone by the end of the treatment.

ok and finally, the whole bottom floor is the wetroom area, which looks like some underground chambers type feel, and upstairs where the massages take place, it looks like a plantation/mansion type of thing with crown moulding and hardwood floors in each room. I would have never thought this place to be SO huge and accomodating, but it was, and I will be back regularly!

3 thumbs up!

Cons: IT IS OFTEN HARD TO GET SAME DAY APPOINTMENT

I read the review dated 6/03/09 from a nameless individual. I think that is very much unfair and misleading. Here is why:
Valley Day Spa is one of the oldest real Day Spa in the Valley. I say "real" because this "hit and run" customer who posted this comment doesn't seem to know the difference between them (V.D.S.) and these fly-by-night operations that pop up all over the valley. V.D.S has great facilities and wonderful massages. You can't compare apple and oranges. I suppose this person confuse a Day Spa to the 30-40 dollars bare bone open space studio only separated by a curtain where everybody is getting a "massage" provided by an $8 an hour, paid under the table, Asian slave labor. Personally that's not my idea of a Day Spa. I like to patronize legitimate businesses that are bonded, licensed, pay taxes and pay their employees well unlike the places this guy is implying. It cost me about fifty dollars to get one hour massage there, with the use of the steam, sauna, jacuzzi and shower. I think that's a great deal that no comparable places in the valley has been able to match. Perhaps this nameless hermaphrodite cheapskate (aka Nope N. ) should ask his girlfriend or boyfriend for a massage so it would save the $30 or $40 he pays at those fly-by-night massage studios.

I love this place:)! I used to go for massage once in a while and I love the fact that for the price you pay the massage (with wonderful massagures) it includes the access to the jackuzy, dry room, steam room, showers with shampoo, conditioner, lockers for your items, hair dryers, cotton tips, body lotion,etc... You get a really nice treatment and get out of there, relaxed, clean and refreshed:)

I have been getting massage there since 2000, (I think that's when they opened up), and I usually get a massage every week unless I am travelling; I think they??ve got the best service money can buy in the Valley. It??s not one of those chichi overpriced day spas like B.W. with their twenty pounds terry cotton robes and it is neither one of those glorified hair salons or wanna be day spa on Ventura blvd where the only spa is the sink in the restroom! Where in this town can you do your spa routine, (steam, sauna & jacuzzi), get one-hour massage and pay only $52.5? That??s just the best deal ever. Granted, if you??re looking for conversation with your therapist, just limit it to simple common words since most of the staff is not fluent in English. Also if you have a specific request such as the type of massage you want, tell the host at counter and the therapist too, otherwise they will do their combination massage, (shiatsu+deep tissue + Swedish massage), which is the best treatment -for me- since it let??s you experience the best of the Eastern and the Western world. Pros: Local, Great Parking, Professional & Clean, Great $ Value. Cons: No food, but I heard that a coffee shop is coming in soon...

Please beware of this spa. Their business practices are very shady, and dishonest. I personally am reporting them to the appropriate business authorites for a situation that I experienced with them recently. I was baited, lied to, and then told that if I had a dispute about their policy and if I wanted to get my money back, I'd have to take it up with my credit card company. Very disreputable, and I would strongly suggest going to a different spa, even if it does cost you an extra $20 per massage.

I have only had fabulous massages here. Staff is predominantly Korean. I buy 90 minute massages in gift books of 10. The cost comes out to about $75.00 per massage. Best value anywhere. Located in a strip mall with a JoAnn fabric, and a plasma donation center. They provide other services which I have not tried, such as manicures, facials, etc. If you want the super fancy spa experience, this isn't it. If you want the best massage you will have in your life this is the place. Area for men and one for women.

I think I have had some of my very best massages ever at this place, the therapists really get into it. I did'nt care much for the shared scrub room area but alone it was nice. ususally I don't run into too many other clients. They have a steam room (which I love) and a sauna and whirlpool. I have not tried any of the facials. I like that they are open late and weekends.

For those who like some privacy, this is not the spa for you. The showers have no curtains and no doors and there are no areas to change clothes discreetly. The bathroom is pretty small and would be difficult to change in. Also, the area for the salt scrubs/etc. is near the showers/changing room/etc. and there are three tables in the room and no door, so there's no privacy at all during these treatments. This spa is less expensive, which is nice, but you can tell exactly where they cut corners, which makes the experience feel a little cheap (dollar store lotion, scatchy robes, small towels, no sandals). They do have a hot tub, which is rare to find in a less expensive place (but there are soap-like bubbles in it, which is a little wierd), as well as a sauna and a steam room (both quite nice). Also, I was practically pushed out of the room when my massage was over--if you've ever had a massage, you know how hard it is to get up and walk before the blood has had a chance to flow back to your head. Overall, I didn't find the experience very relaxing and I think it's worth the extra money to go to the Massage Therapy Center or Burke Williams.
