So I read the bad comment on Valumed pharmacy, and I would have to DISAGREE. Valumed is a GREAT PLACE TO GET YOUR PRESCRIPTIONS you never have to wait and they are ALL VERY FRIENDLY and YES EVEN THE HISPANICS. I could NEVER imagine any of the EMPLOYEES being rude or trying to steal someones IDENTITY...LAST BUT NOT LEAST NEXT TIME you want to get in and out really quick just go to VALUMED they COULDN'T GET MUCH BETTER, and their 4DOLLAR GEN. ARE GREAT!

I have only had one prescription filled here and never again for the reason I will explain below.

I had taken my young daughter to med now with a long forgotten illness for which she received a prescription. After a long day I was simply ready to get her meds and get her home. Valu Med is very convienent to med now in that it adjoins the clinic with a direct access entrance, so I chose to use their services.

When I went inside there was only a hispanic couple waiting and no one else. I turned my daughter's prescription in to the teen behind the desk, she asked if we had ever had a prescription filled there before. When I responded no, she asked for the receipt I had been given at med now, the one with the chart where they check off services rendered and note the diagnosis. Apparently from what I recall, there was some sort of connection between the pharmacy and med now where she simply had to take a patient number or something and enter it and the patient's information would populate her screen. Anyway, she wanted the paper for whatever reason and i gave it to her. She said it would be returned along with the prescription.

Just a few minutes later, I heard what I thought was my daughter's name being called, but the hispanic couple responded. When they looked at the prescription and the clerk proceeded to ring them up, I assumed I had been wrong and continued to browse.

The couple left, only to return about three minutes later and tell the clerk they had been given the wrong prescription. They turned it back in and apparently the right prescription was now available, so she did the swap. Once they had left, she called me forward to claim my daughter's prescription. When I got there, I asked where the diagnosis paper was from med now, and she said it was in the bag. It WAS NOT in the bag. While they went next door and obtained a copy for me, the important thing to consider is that the original was missing and it CONTAINED MY DAUGHTER'S FULL SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER! Which means that the hispanic couple either by accident or on purpose, kept the paper that had her number on it. The clerks excuse? 'Well I called out the name and they came up!' You would think that with only two customers in the store and having only asked for the paper from me some five minutes earlier, she could have remembered who was who!'

So if you ever go to valu med and don't want to risk the possibility of identity theft, let them have the requested paper long enough to get whatever info they need, then insist they hand it back to you.

The staff is really nice. I don't have to wait long on my prescriptions which is really nice. And they speak Spanish. Hablio espaniol!! I like the 'family atmosphere' of Valu-Med. I definitely recommend it!

There are a number of reasons I like doing business here, but I'll just give a few of them...the prices are pretty reasonable, the people are friendly and helpful, also you don't have to wait all day to get your perscriptions and go.
