I have been taking my kids here for the past 3 years and have not had one problem with them. We have had children with breathing problems and multiple other issues and they have always had the correct diagnosis. Their staff has always been friendly and punctual with forms when needed. It is pretty easy to get an appointmernt and they have two office sites which makes it easier. I have never ad a problem getting a sick visit on the same day. They have about 10 or so doctors in the prcatice and we have seen about 5 of them with no problems with any of them. Their nurses are also excellent. I have had friends switch to VPG and have had many thank me for the referral.

PROS: Great friendly service, punctual returning paperwork, accurate diagnosis
CONS: sometimes late day appointments run late, but thats with any Doc office

I've been taking my daughter to Virginia Pediatric Group Ltd. for 2 years, but I'm switching her to a different practice.

Last winter she saw 2 different doctors for breathing trouble. The first one said she might have allergies. The second said it was a cold. Two months after the first visit for her breathing problem, I took her to an allergist, who immediately diagnosed allergies and asthma. Two months after that, at her 3-year check-up, a third Va Pediatrics Grp doctor suggested taking her off her asthma med, "to see how she does." Within a day, her asthma symptoms returned. The allergist said she should have never been taken off the asthma med. If anything was to be discontinued on a trial basis, it should have been the allergy med.

The office staff is horrible. They lost my request for a flu shot last year, and when I made a second request, they said they had "allocated" their entire supply to high-risk patients. As a result, my asthmatic child (high risk) developed a bad case of flu.

When I needed school health forms completed, I dropped off the form along with a list of the medications prescribed by her allergist, and indicated that her asthma diagnosis was documented in their (Va. Pediatric Group's) records. I also indicated that I needed the form back within 7 days. 10 days later, they had the form completed, but not signed by a doctor. I was told that my daughter's doctor was at another office and couldn't sign the form until the following week. I had to remind the person that their practice's medical records are computerized, and any one of their docs could sign the form. The person finally agreed to have another doc sign the form, and then fax it to me.

When I received the form, none of my daughter's meds were listed, even the one she takes at school. The form also indicated she doesn't have asthma.

The nurse on phone duty was rude and the office administrator refused to take or return my phone calls.

PROS: Easy to get an appointment; nurses are generally friendly
CONS: Awful office staff; doctors didn't properly diagnose my daughter's asthma
