.

I have been a patient of Ann's for approximately 11 years. I would never consider changing and have refused to see anyone else. She is very attentive ,very thorough and very good at communicating . I dont know who the previous review was written by , but perhaps you have to take a look at your ability to clearly communicate to the physician what your symptoms are and listen when they explain your treatment. If you know you have an issue with codiene then it is as much your responsibility to review your prescriptions with the physician prior to leaving the office as it is anyones.

I had been seeing a doctor in uptown Charlotte for several years, and decided to try to find someone a little closer to home. I was able to get in at Caromont right away, and was a little surprised by how empty the waiting room was. Then I saw Ann Marie Watts, and realized why no one was there. I saw her for a basic check up and med refill. She started writing my prescription before she even asked about what my symptoms were, if the medication alleviated the symptoms, or did a basic exam. I chalked it up to a bad day and moved on. I went back several months later when I had the flu. Again with the rushed exam, not really listening, and writing a prescription to get me out of there. When I took the prescriptions to the pharmacy to get filled, I found out that one of them contained hydrocodone. One of the first things I tell any new medical person is that hydrocodone makes me very ill, and to please not ever prescribe it for me. Just to make sure, I called the office to make sure that I had informed them of this. It turned out that it was clearly written in my chart not to give hydrocodone. I didn't get a "sorry, we screwed up" or even an offer to call in another medication. She also prescribed Tamiflu when she knew that I had exceeded the window for starting it (72 hours after symptoms appear, I think?). I have seen a lot of medical providers, and I can say without hesitation that she is the worst. I would rather drive out of my way and wait for hours to see someone else than to ever see her again.
