Upon suffering a fracture of my elbow in a biking accident dating back to 2005...I was rushed into a hospital emergency room and was treated and referred to the doctor associated with the hospital. My condition required immediate surgery and a complex operation was completed very shortly after the incident. Although, the surgery went well...my post care treatment by the surgeon was abysmal. In fact, I never gained full range and motion in my arm...and really needed a second opinion. Fortunately...one of the salesmen who fitted me for some orthopedic device recommended a doctor in Springfield who specialized in elbow fractures. Upon meeting this gentleman...I was not met with the egocentricity and holier than thou attitude that other doctors emit upon meeting patients. On the contrary...Dr. Oppenhiem came across in a very friendly manner, listened to my case (and yes..he is a busy man), and made straight forward recommendations for my recovery without promises. My surgery was handled in a very professional manner and my results appeared to be favorable. In addition, I have learned that Dr. Oppenheim is well recognized in his field accross the country and has treated many famous sports personalities as well. Yes...I am a patient of a doctor who services people who are in newspapers on a daily basis. However, upon getting home from the hospital...I received a call from a physical therapist who was leaving for vacation...and stated that Dr. Oppenheim called him and was wondering if he could squeeze me in for a last minute appointment ? The physical therapist was top notch and also indciated how lucky I was to have sucjh a great doctor. In my humble opinion...this guy is my hero !

Dr. Oppenheim is a wonderful surgeon. He makes his patients feel confortable. He carefully explains each procedure so that anyone can understand. He takes his time with each patient, which is rare these days. His office staff is friendly. Even offers extended hours.
