I had to write this review after seeing some not so good reviews out there. I have worked in an ob/gyn office and as a labor and delivery nurse and must say the care I have received is by far the best I have received. Dr. Newman and his nurse Michelle go out of their way to make the patients feel more like friends than a patient. They made going through the loss of a miscarriage much easier.
As far as wait times go, I have had to wait for an extended time or too but it's an ob/gyn office and it goes with the territory. Babies and emergencies don't always wait till after office hours and the doctors have to respond to those situations outside the office.

I would definitely recommend this office because Dr. Newman and his nurse Michelle are amazing!

Normally I don't submit reviews, but after reading some negative reviews about this office, I had to post my view.

I didn't have an OBGYN, so when my husband and I found out that I was pregnant, we started going to the Boca office based on the recommendation of several of my coworkers and their friends (some who had easy pregnancies and some who had difficult ones).

In my experience so far (I'm 5 months pregnant), the doctors are great....they don't rush you out. They take the time to sit down with you, talk about any concerns you have, explain health issues, answer questions (even if they are stupid questions that they've probably heard a million times) etc. I've even had them follow up with a personal phone call the following day to check on any symptoms and to find out if there has been improvement. In terms of waiting times, I've rarely waited more than about 15 minutes (however, I do usually try to get the early morning appointments). They are really good about fitting you in for an appointment if some unexpected problem comes up. The office always has someone on-call, and they respond quickly (I've called a few times and I've gotten a call back from a nurse within 30 minutes).

I've seen other people complaining about having to see multiple doctors. When you start visiting, you choose a primary OB (or midwife) and that's who you see during each appointment (for about the first 28 weeks I think). As you get closer to delivery they start rotating the doctors (or midwives). Whoever is on call when you deliver will be the one delivering the baby, and the reason you see multiple doctors is so that you are familiar with whoever ends up at the hospital with you. Some people may not be comfortable with this, but I don't have a problem with it. I'd rather have it this way, than have a stranger show up to deliver my baby. If you have a problem with this, you should find another practice....this isn't something that they hide from you. This is all explained during your first appointment. The office is clean and neat. The waiting room isn't the Ritz (I saw someone comment on how they expected a better waiting room since its Boca...maybe they are used to Boca's plastic surgery offices??), but really, who cares? Its a waiting room. Its always clean, fresh, has a tv and an assortment of reading material. Granted, the front desk staff aren't always the friendliest (not rude, but not friendly either), but really, aren't you there to see the doctors? I haven't had any problems with any of the nurses, billing staff or staff who make appointments. They've all been professional, patient and courteous.

I wouldn't have any problem recommending this office to friends and family. Now if only I could find a family doctor who treats patients this well!

I moved to the area when I was 26 weeks pregnant and this was a highly recommended OB/GYN office with affiliation to the West Boca Medical Center. Worst mistake I could have made. Now at 37 weeks pregnant and having been seen six times at the Women??s Health Partners (WHP) in Boca Raton, I can tell you without equivocation: do not waste your precious time and money at this heart-dissolving, incompetent facility. I for one seek desperately to switch to another facility immediately.

If I may be somewhat superficial for a moment; I expected WHP??s common area to look way better than it did. After all, this facility is in Boca Raton, and yet the practice looks like one notch up from a free clinic. Furthermore, the common area features cosmetics and Botox products. And when you pass the common area, and wait in another waiting room, there are pictures of newborns, but images are only present to advertise a photographer who works with WHP.

I am appalled with WHP and here is why:

I endured long waiting periods five out of the six times I have been there. These waiting times ranged from forty-five minutes to an hour and a half.

The receptionists are often missing from behind the glass window or simply dismissive to the patients in the common area. And do not expect to be greeted when you sign in.

They (WHP) strongly enforce patients to be shuffled around the seven doctors under its practice. Essentially, I never really have a ??Doctor?? but just some random person who meets me for less than five minutes.

The entire operation is very impersonal. It??s more like a business as usual practice where they want you to get in and get out as fast as possible instead of a caring OB/GYN environment.

The only department that seems to care about anything is billing. They are sure to spend time with you in regards to your insurance, how much your insurance covers, how much you owe, if you wish to put a credit card on file. Ambulance chasing lawyers have nothing on them.

The scheduling department is notorious for pulling last minute appointment changes. Other stunts involve resorting to seeing a midwife or simply not seeing anyone at all because your doctor is in the midst of delivering a baby via ?? surprise ?? c-section).

When you are finally seen by a doctor, your appointment literally lasts for a few minutes. The MDs come in and spend most of their time examining medical information on their I-Pad like devices. In a nutshell, they hear the baby??s heartbeat, measure your belly, and ask you what questions you have. You will feel rushed and a strong intuition that the doctor doesn??t have the slightest bit of interest in you. After you ask them your questions, it??s off you go to the billing department. And then that drama starts.

The nursing staff seems like drones without a personality. They don??t smile, they don??t seem to be happy, they barely communicate, but yet they aren??t angry. It??s almost like the nurses are stoic robots without much personality or empathy.

I just wanted to add some important annotations: I asked doctor X why did I have what felt like a heartbeat several times a day in my pelvic area. The doctor??s
in-depth answer was: your baby is simply playing. I researched my question on credible websites and the next time around I asked a midwife the same question. Most people, including the midwife, informed me that my sensations were due to the baby hiccupping.

In conclusion, avoid this place at all costs as you will waste your time, money, and nerves. I wish I would have been recommended a different practice.

I came to this practice after a horrible experience with another OB practice in the Boca area. I was three months into my first pregnancy and I decided to switch to a different OB practice. I did some research on-line and found the WHP website by googling OB practices in the Boca area. While examining their web page, I took a peek at all the physicians listed in their practice and came across Dr. Jane Rudolph. I am originally from Chicago and was very new to the Boca area so, as silly as this sounds, I chose Dr. Rudolph because she had went to medical school in the Chicago land area. That was the best decision I EVER made! Dr. Rudolph is not only an incredible physician but she is a caring, compassionate and loving person who exudes these qualities from the very moment you meet her. She literally "had me at hello".

My first visit with Dr. Rudolph went incredibly well! She answered all my questions and alleviated all the fears I had regarding my pregnancy. I had so many questions and she really took her time with me. I can not stress enough that there is something so very special about this doctor and you really have to meet her to know what I am talking about. I left my first visit feeling ecstatic and relieved that I finally found a physician who I could entrust with my prenatal care. The rest of my visits were also great. I never experienced any issues or difficulties during my entire pregnancy.

I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Newman during hospital stay. He and Dr. Rudolph performed my C-Section together and I saw Dr. Newman in the days following my procedure. I can not say enough nice things about him! He is a knowledgeable, warm, caring and compassionate physician. All the nurses in the hospital kept raving about how wonderful he was. Sara, my labor and delivery nurse, said that DR. Newman was one of those physicians who was just meant to be an OB. When going into my C-Section procedure, he gently touched my hand, looked at me in the eyes and said "everything is going to be OK" and I was immediately comforted by his words. The procedure went smoothly and my recovery has been great! I was able to walk around within 12 hrs after surgery!

I am really surprised to hear some of the negative comments posted here. I can honestly say that my positive experience did not stop with Dr. Rudolph Dr. Newman but was echoed by the practice as a whole. The staff was wonderful with me. From the front reception, to billing, appointment scheduling, nursing staff, I have only the best to say about everyone. Yes, you do have to wait to be seen sometime, but, they are a very busy practice and they take their time with their patients. I would much rather wait then be seen exactly on my appointment time by someone who is rushing and doesn't care.

Needless to say, I highly and without any hesitation recommend Dr. Rudolph, Dr. Newman and Woman's Health Partners. I just came back from the hospital where I had a grueling and long labor and a C-Section to follow. Rather than getting my rest, I feel compelled to write about my experience with these physicians in hopes that my review will help someone who like myself, needed to find a great OB during the most special time of your life!

I am so surprised to hear all the negative comments about Women's Health Partners. I switched to Terry De Felippo who is a Nurse Midwife in the practice when I was pregnant with my first child almost 4 years ago b/c my doctor at the time (not from this practice) was known as the "C section King" and I wanted a natural birth. The nurse midwives there are AWESOME. They spend quality time with you discussing all your concerns. They call back within 5 minutes if you are pregnant. They never make you feel like a question is stupid and they never rush you. (They are great even if you're not pregnant and are just there for your yearly exam.) At the 36 week mark, I found out my son was breech and had to schedule a Csection. I was so upset and did not want one but had no choice. I went with Dr Arcelin. He was a great surgeon, very efficient and fast on the operating table. All the nurses at the hospital bragged about what a great surgeon he is. He had no problem with my husband taking pics in the operating room. He's not the most talkative but who cares. If you want someone really talkative and hand holding you may want to go with Dr Rudolph or a Midwife but all in all he's very nice and always seems to be in a good mood. I get the impression that he's more of the "super smart type" who is more business. I had no problem with him at all. Now, I'm pregnant with my second and am due in a few weeks. I am in that office ALL the time and I never have felt that the wait time is astronomical. I think it's usually appropriate and I'm usually in and out within the hour. Even when I'm not pregnant, I've had to call the office for different issues and I've always received a call back within a few hours. I wouldn't go to any other office. Terry De Fellippo is the BEST!!!!

I have been a patient at Women's Healthcare since my pregnancy with my first child over 8 years ago. Dr. Friedman was very nice, but never seems to be around when I need her. Both of my kids were delivered by others (to be expected in that type of office), but she missed other important appointments too. The wait time is always ridiculous. I got to waiting for the first appointment of the day - and then today - although I was early for a quick appointment - they took a LONG new OB patient with a later appointment time ahead of me and I waited 55 minutes for a two minute appointment.

Dr. Arcelin is one of the other doctors and I feel he has terrible bedside manner.

After 8 years I am changing to another group!

As a few of the other reviews alluded to, expect VERY LONG wait times with no apologies. I'm pretty sure they forgot about me completely as the waiting room emptied and refilled three times before I was seen, and only then after telling them I couldn't wait any longer and was going to leave. Many women who arrived after me were seen and left before me, which made waiting much more frustrating. Had it been FAIR I wouldn't have minded as much. In addition, I was told to arrive early to do paperwork which I did. However, over 45 minutes passed and they never asked for my paperwork until I went up front. Finally, front desk lady was extremely rude each time and never answered my question: how much longer? Doctor and nurse were nice though.

Depends what you want out of an O.B. When I was 19 I selected this group and got in with a young doctor taking new clients with the thought I would have a growing doctor / patient relationship with this establishment. While it served my needs when all I needed was a routine check up and a script for the pill (all of which took less then 15 min). The same doctor relationship did not serve me well when I became pregnant. I was given very little guidance with my first pregnancy and when things started to go wrong leaving messages with the nurses voice mail did not serve me well. The nurse and my doctor were very casual about my first miscarriage. Leaving me sad yet feeling that these things do happen. Then with my second pregnancy my doctor of about 10 years was not in and I saw someone very nice from within the group. The same things were going wrong as the first time when I asked for blood work (at the six week marker) they told me if I was going to miss I would have by now and to take it easy (did I mention I was rushed and made to feel as if I was lucky to even have gotten the appointment). After a ultra sound and smiles all around I went back to work that day, my rendition of take it easy was to sit down as much as I could between my own clients. I miss-carried again that night in the ER bathroom. Once again, the staff was very casual about it even calling it an early abortion (just how you want to hear it phrased) in front of myself and other patients. Come to find out my problem was simplistic I was RH negative (which could have been found with blood work) had I received a shot the first time I miscarried I most likely would not have had to go through the experience again. I found a doctor who did consistant blood work and when I had complications again; my phone call was addressed by the doctor himself, after a ultra sound he put me on moderate bed rest explaining to me what "take it easy" meant. I was sent to a High Risk doctor and they watch my hemotoma heal itself. I happily had my first child nine months latter. I did not have a simplistic pregnancy in the first tri (not as easy as some yet, thankfully not as bad as some people have it). See, I needed a doctor who CARED! I found that with Dr. Alan B. Patterson; as well as, a wonderful staff who answers the phone!

I had heard several okay comments about Dr. Newman and for my third pregnancy I choose to go to Women's Healthcare Associates in Boca Raton, FL. I have never had such a positive experience with a doctor as I did with Dr. Newman. He was so kind and polite, he made you feel very comfortable and allowed you to express any uncertainty you may have had. He spoke to you like a person, and didn't speak at you like some physicians I know. I really enjoyed going there and the support was very friendly and kind. I have never met a doctor that would follow up with you directly (himself). He would personally call me to remind me of appointments or to discuss any concerns I had. I would strongly recommend Dr. Newman to any mother-to-be...he was just awesome!!!!

Thought Arcelin was ok until the end of my pregnancy when I was very disappointed. Although I had informed him in advance that I wanted minimal interventions, he stripped my membranes without any warning or information during a cervical exam. Had I known, I would've never consented to it. Also seems keen to schedule you for an induction when you get close to your due date.

Although I love the doctors and nurses in this practice, the front office and billing staff are really inefficient and inconsiderate. They have a different answer to your billing questions depending on who you ask or the same person tells you different things depending on the day you ask!! On top of not knowing what they are doing, some of them are terribly rude.

I'm not going back there again or recommending them to anyone. Hope my doctor moves to another practice.

I went to Womens Healthcare Associates Boca Raton office this past year for my first pregnancy. Although several of the doctors are terrific, I was not fond of my doctor. (I was originally told this was the only doctor accepting patients.) Expect to wait at LEAST an hour in the waiting room if not longer. There is absolutely no apology from anyone for these long wait times which can get really annoying when you get towards the end of your pregnancy and have to go every week. The staff is not very friendly. If you call to make an appointment, they will put you on hold for several minutes (like 5 minutes or more) and then when they finally come back to you they try to rush you through making your appointment. Then they will complain how there are no appointments in the book and they just don't know how they will squeeze you in - as if this is your fault. They somehow messed up our appt when booking the ultrasound and so after my husband had taken off work to come with me they tried to reschedule us which of course we told them no so we had to wait forever to squeeze us in and then she rushed through the appt. and I really didn't feel like she explained what we were looking at on the screen. Not what I expected for the first glimpse of our first baby. One more thing, whatever you do - do not go to the Boynton office - it is dirty and the staff are not friendly at all. (There were several times when two staff members would be discussing thier personal lives to each other while I stood there waiting for someone to acknowledge me.) I might be willing to stay with this office if I had a doctor there that I loved, but it's just not worth it to me.

After finding out I was pregnant and having the doctor I chose walk out and quit after my first and only visit I was really stuck and needed a doctor fast. I picked Dr Melissa Friedman out of my insurance book and then received some really good referrals for her out of the blue while at a party for my grandma. I made my appointment and can not tell you how impressed I am with this practice. You always receive first class service from all of the staff. Every doctor (which you do see all of them when you are expecting) are also first class. This is the most comfortable I have felt with doctors and would highly recommend this practice.

PROS: Awsome practice, excellent doctors and staff
CONS: Wait can sometimes be long

The waiting room can be like a factory at times, but this practice is fantastic. They are great both in OB and Gyn. Dr. Newman treats his patients as if they are the only patient he has and spends time with them to make sure that they feel comfortable. He is kind and goes way beyond what is "required".

I cannot say enough good things about this practice. I ended up there accidentally at 12 weeks pregnant after my current doctor walked out and left her patients with no doctor. I stumbled across Dr Melissa Friedman and could not have
