I can't imagine why anyone would give Dr. York a negative review-she has helped me so much. Her staff is always polite and responds back to me quickly every time.

I found Dr. York to be very thorough in her examination of me, and that even though my basic need was for a mask for my cpap, my machine was also in need to be replaced. She and her staff worked with me to see that my needs were taken

I saw Dr. York for two years to help me with my sleep apnea. I found her so arrogant and condescending that I came to dread the frequent appointments she expected me to have with her. She prescribed that I use a CPAP machine, which worked to some degree, but it also caused me a great deal of discomfort, and it was very cumbersome to use. She would ask me a lot of questions, but I did not feel like she was really listening to my answers. I felt like she lacked empathy for what I was going through and like she was being very judgmental of me. She gave me the impression that if the CPAP was not working as well for me as she expected it to, that was my fault. She did not consider other treatment options.

I also felt as if she and the respiratory therapist she worked with were pushing me to replace the expensive CPAP equipment, far more frequently than was necessary.

Dealing with her and her office gave me the general feeling of being exploited. Sleep apnea seems to be a bit of a growth industry. All the snorers out there are learning that they actually have a serious life threatening condition. As long as people with sleep apnea believe they are dependent on you to get a good night sleep, there??s money to be made.

While I did not feel her staff was particularly rude, I did get the impression they had plenty of patients coming back for regularly scheduled appoints every few months. So they were not going to go out of their way for me. Communicating with her office over telephone was difficult because each time I called I had to deal with a very long and confusing voice messaging system. The recording quite explicitly tells the caller that they really don??t have time to talk to you, and they would much rather waste your time trying to decipher how use their voice messaging system.

Finally, I found the right-wing Christian reading material in her waiting room offensive. Her patients come to her for medical help, not to be subjected to her reactionary views.

She's a great doctor. I was lucky enough to have been recommended to her. She is thorough. She takes her time. She explains what is going on and what she wants to do. I never felt rushed or that I didn't know what was going on. I highly recommend her.

Dr. York diagnosed me when no one else would/could! I'd seen many neurologist who said they were clueless and 1 who said my symptoms were self manifested! I was honest with her and on my first visit told her I was feeling quite well and I might be wasting her time. She quietly proceeded with a complete exam and stayed on top of things. It took almost 2 years to get the rare diagnosis. She also referred me to Baylor Movement Disorder to make sure that she would have support in my on going care as my disease progressed. She is likely an angel in human form with a brilliant brain!

Pros: listened, logical process to diagnosis, caring

Cons: none

I started seeing Dr. York in 2002 after seeing 3 other Neurologist who were unable to help me and it did take a while to help my migrains but we worked together to pin down the triggers and find the proper medications and I have now gone from more than 4 migrains a week down to less than 2 a month dependant upon the weather. Of course we all know we cannot control weather changes :0) but even now I have rescue medication for those awful migrains triggerd by the weather!!

Dr. York's staff are all WONDERFUL they are kind and curtious and they will all go out of their way to get to know you. I have never been treated better by any other medical office.

Kudos Dr. York -- Job well done!!

Dr. York has helped tremendously with my epilepsy. While I had seen other physicians who had trouble finding the proper medication and dosage, she quickly found a medication that works for me with few side effects. Her staff is friendly and professional. I highly recommend Dr. York!

I came to Dr York after suffering 5 years of migraines and she and her staff are more than willing to go to the far end to get some answers. She goes to the root of the problem and works her way up! Highly recommended and very professional.

Seems there is something wrong here. I too went to a neurologist that specialized in epilepsy and was referred to Dr. York and I had no trouble making an appointment with her and she has done me more good than any Dr. I have seen. I still have trouble with my sleep apnea but Dr York has helped me to be able to cope with wearing my mask at night and I am getting better. I think Dr York is a fantastic doctor and takes time to examine her patients problem very thoroughly before deciding what kind of treatment needs to be given. I would definitely recommend Dr York to anyone that has sleep apnea.

I was given Dr. York's name from another neurologist that I had seen previously so I could get more in depth help with narcolepsy. The neurologist I had seen previously specialized in Epilepsy so he felt I would be better off seeing her. As it turns out while trying to book an appointment I was asked if I had seen another neurologist previously and I said yes and he sent me to Dr. York. The receptionist at that point said well Dr. York does not see patients that have seen any other neurologist even if it is a referral. So if you have seen another doctor and either want a second opinion or they sent you to a specialist then don't waste your time here they will not help you.
