Dutton's Books & Prints
Although not a large bookstore, Dutton's Studio City location has lots of new, used, & rare books for you to peruse & buy, not to mention a fantastic selection of greeting cards & postcards. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable & can order you anything you need that isn't currently in stock. They also do out of print searches for books that are no longer available. This is a great local bookstore.
Peet's Coffee & Tea
I love Peet's. I first experienced them in San Francisco & was thrilled when they began their migration south. Their teas are my favorite of any of the hot beverage conglomerates & they have a less "chain-like" feel. The staff has always been polite, knowledgeable & friendly. I definitely recommend Peet's!
Salon Blu
Salon Blu was recommended to me by a friend shortly after I moved to Los Angeles. After 7 years with my stylist in NYC, I was looking for a comparable LA place & I was very pleased with the service & cut I received at Salon Blu. From the minute I walked in, I felt that I was was very important to them & got exquisite treatment from the washers to the stylists. Plus, they always give me exactly the cut I want & it looks great!
