Pacific Food Mart
Looking for an Armenian Market? Here it is! This is a great place to find unusual treats. The produce is a little hit or miss. They have a big selection of Armenian wines. Great when you are looking for a unique item for a dinner or want to grab something quick.
HK Market
This is no tiny little Korean market. This is a huge supermarket sized one. This is more of an occasional stop for us, for special event shopping. Unless your very familiar with Asian fare, I think it's hard to do your entire grocery shopping here. That said, they have a great bakery and also lots of vegetarian friendly treats. The produce section is also full of great buys. Worth checking out!
Smart Space
I don't have enough positive things to say about Smart Space! The friendly staff, the clean & bright and kid friendly inside and the outstanding children's classes for all ages; there is no doubt that you can find the perfect class for you and your little one!
PROS: Educational, fun, quality time
CONS:
Tibet/Nepal House
Every time I visit I order the same thing (as do most of the other customers), the all you can eat buffet (lunch time only, I think). Most of the items are vegetarian and they are all yummy. I like the atmosphere here and always an usual place to take a guest. So far, everyone has enjoyed it!
The Sisters of Bubik
This is more of a cafe type eatery, then a restaurant, with a sandwich and salad menu, specializing in bagels. I had a salad and although it was pretty basic, it was fresh and tasty. I think the real draw to this cafe is the eclectic boutique that surrounds you, it is too much fun! I hope to go back someday when live entertainment is happening. Visiting here is more of an event then just a meal!
PROS: Shop, Eat & Be Entertained
CONS:
Tiffany's Coffee
Where else in Pasadena can you get a sandwich for $2.50? This is not gourmet, this is no-frills cheap food. But, for what you pay; it's a good sandwich.
PROS: Cheapest Eats in Pasadena
CONS: No Frills
High Land Cafe
This is my favorite lunch place. Freshly made and quality ingredients. Sandwiches get carrot sticks on the side instead of chips--which I love. If you are in a hurry, call ahead and have it ready for you (I have them on my speed dial!) Once you're hooked like I am, be sure and grab a frequent diner card and get it punched each time. Once it's full you can get a free ice cream cone! Oh, try the dark bread, it is delicious.
PROS: Fresh and delicious
CONS: Made to order, so you may wait
Vincent's Pizza Park
This is the original Vincents Pizza! I've been eating Vincent's pizza since I was a kid. When we first started going there, it was Vincent himself making the pies. Some people quip that it is too greasy; be warned! This is old school pie! The interior is a bit of a dive too, so if that doesn't interest you, order it to go! Cheap beer too!
Foxy's Restaurant
From the toasters on the tables to the little chef statue at the entrance, we always have a good meal at Foxy's. I prefer Foxy's as a breakfast / brunch place but so does everybody else. Be prepared for a bit of a wait on the weekends. Big patio so when it is nice, plenty of seating.
PROS: Great Weekend Brunch Place
CONS: No children's menu; sometimes there is a wait
Viktor Benes Bakery Pasadena
Right inside Gelson's Market in Pasadena is a great bakery. Ordered 3 different cakes & tortes for a baby shower at work and got raves! The chocolate cake was to die for; there was no left-overs at this party. I wouldn't say that prices are a bargain, nor would I say it was overly expensive, but it is so convenient. I could get everything I needed for the party in one stop.
PROS: So convenient and staff is very nice
CONS:
