Nordstrom
This store is spectacular. I have to admit that usually I find Nordstrom's to be snooty but this one has very friendly and down to earth staff. It's also in the Grove so they are probably used to visitors who just come to "window shop". This store isincredibly well organized and they have very chic displays of shoes, clothes and jewelery. My wife always wants to come and take a peak. I haven't purchased anything from here but they have a great set up and I'll surely come back to visit soon.
Kohl's Department Store
Not a bad store is you're on a budget and you're looking for things that you might find at Robinson's May. They have a little bit of everything from housewear (bedding, bath and accessories) to childrens clothing, men and womens clothing, jewelery, shoes and anything and everything in between. Good prices for what you're getting and coupons too. They also sell levi's and some other name brand designers. You'd be surprised by the great deals you'll find here. Not too exciting in terms of the stylesbut good quality.
Express
I like this store overall. They usually have really good sales in the off seasons like prices from $9.99 to $14.99 on tops and sweaters. I've gone with my wife a couple times and she's gotten some good quality jeans for $19.99. I went with her duringthe holidays and I was shocked at the increase in prices. They do have solid quality clothing but not for the prices they had marked. Still a good store overall and some great designs.
See's Candies
Yum. This place is a classic for a quick chocolate pick me up or a quick "make up". Always a treat and never too burdensome because the prices are extremely reasonable for a finer chocolate than Hershey. The old fashion store makes it a fun stop and don't forget your free taste. Try the peanut butter cups and the molasses chips. I also like to ask the workers for a suggestion. Give it a try if you have never tried this place. If you already have, go back again.
Borders Books & Music
Great store for looking for a gift or browsing while you wait for someone else to shop in the mall. I always enjoy coming to book stores and I usually always walk out with something in my hand. This store is great because they offer a huge selection of books, music and gifts for all ages and at all prices. You can get plenty of things for under $10.00 and you will have lots to choose from. Like Barnes and Noble.
Home Goods
I think this store is fantastic if you're looking for good quality merchandise for really discounted prices. Some of the furniture has little chips in it but most of the items are very well cared for and are basically flawless. They have some great prints and unique pieces of mock antique home decor. Great place to come and stretch the budget and get more for you money. Great cooking wear section with lots of pots and pans from famous makers.
Niketown
This is a great store. It has all the latest footwear for all types of sporting events. There are is a multitude of athletic gear and the warm up suits are especially comfortable and practical. The prices are no different than if you purchased them at another store, so it's fun to support this "NIKE of all NIKE stores". Also fun because sometimes they have free refreshments. Take a peak around Christmas time and they've got great deals.
Century Supper Club Lp
I came here a couple times when I was single. A bunch of my buddies came here to see what the hype was all about. First of all the parking is something like $7-10 and the admission is at least $20. Just to start off the evening I was close to out of money. Then if you want a drink it's at least another $10. I'm aware that going out costs money but this place just isn't worth it. The crowd is very "flashy" and if you're into that come here, if not stay away. Don't tell them I sent you.
The Beauty Bar
I give this place a satisfactory mostly because it's so crowded and the bartenders aren't that friendly. My wife thinks it's "so cute" and she really enjoys the decor and the idea that you can get a manicure. I have to admit that the idea is right butthese days I prefer an evening in rather than out in Hollywood with a bunch of young bucks. Give it a try it's worth it.
Arsenal Bar
I rate this place very good because of the fond memories I've had here. The overall atmosphere is funny (due to the loads of arsenal on the wall) and scary at the same time. A sports like bar with pool table and dart games on one side. A dark restaurant and steak joint on the other. An interesting place nonetheless.
