I haven't been to this place in a few years but what I remember from it is that it's really good. I took my friends with me and they all enjoyed it which is really hard to come by since everyone is so picky these days. I liked the outdoor atmosphere since it's outdoors yet doesn't allow people to smoke. The prices are affordable and the food tastes good so what more can you ask for? Which reminds me... I have to go there again soon... like this weekend.
When I went there for my friend's birthday, it was average. The prices are high but the size of the meal doesn't match the price. There were also quite a few items on the menu that weren't available to order due to a shortage or something and that looks unprofessional. The server was very friendly but at times was no where to be found. I would recommend the Creme Brulee, it was so tasty.
I for one absolutely HATE dim sum so I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. However I went one night for a school related function and the food they served wasn't that bad. If you go, just go for the regular menu and not the dim sum.
I just tried this place today after not really being able to find anywhere else to go. I really did not like the setting. The lighting was really red and had I went during the day instead of at night, I know I would have been blinded if I went outside. It is too dark in there! It gave me a creepy feeling kinda like "Nightmare on the 13th Floor". The food sucks. All they have on the menu are sandwiches which are very pricey like $8-$10 with meager servings. The steak and seafood platters also cost a grip for $20+. I would not suggest this place to anyone unless they really love this type of American food and have an endless cash flow.
This place is not only clean as the "A" rating shows, the food is goood. I'm surprised they don't have many customers (because of it's location in Alhambra surrounded by a lot of uncultured people) because the food is really tasty. I like ordering the dinner sets because they fill me up and I can try a few things at a time. The buffet is also a good deal and a good chance for people to try the more popular dishes while getting some variety. Most of the prices range would fall under the dinner price since it's not that cheap but I'd think that it's well worth it when you leave this place full and content.
This place is a very typical run of the mill Cantonese styled cafe. I didn't like it here. The food wasn't that good and the atmosphere wasn't either. If you love going somewhere to dine with a bunch of "Asian Gangsters/Thugs" then this place is pretty much perfect for you. I found the service to be not that efficient and the servers were rude in the sense that they don't really care how you are doing. They just plop your food down and that's it.
My friend brought me here for dinner once. The name contains the word "french" however this isn't a french restaurant nor does it serve french food. It is more like a typical cafe type of restaurant with it's fried rice, steaks, etc. I really enjoyed the food I got which was a black pepper Filet Mignon. It was good and it filled me up. The interior is kinda bland and not very pleasing to the eye but the food makes up for it.
I went once with my family and we got our own banquet room. We had what was considered to be delicacies, for example Shark Fin Soup, Abalone, Goose Liver Pate and such. The total was hefty $1.5K so I don't think this place would suit the Average Joe dueto the dent in the wallet after effect and because not everyone has such refined tastes.
This place has that not-so modern look to its interior and it's a good place to get away from the modernism of today. I don't really think the prices are justifiable since they are high and it's not really worth it. It's also very crowded and packed. But where-else can I go for Corned Beef and a boiled head of cabbage?
I agree that you can find good bargains here while finding some hard to find stuff. The things that I find annoying are the customers, the crowded store, and I never know where to begin looking for what I want. If all that doesn't bother you, then you should come check this place out.
