I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here, but I drop by occasionally. Although not exactly authentic, they're not bad in terms of Hawaiian plate lunch places on the mainland.
Not exactly the most authentic Hawaii food, but pretty close. Good prices and large portions.
The Appetizer has great italian sandwiches! I eat here as often as I can!
This place has really good pancakes! I prefer it over IHOP. They're crepes are especially good! yum!
This place has some of the best crepes I've ever had! I really recommend it. Sometimes there's a little bit of a wait to get a seat, but it's definitely worth it!
This is a great box karaoke studio, just like you would find in Japan. You rent individual rooms for you and your party to sing in. The songs are up to date, and there's a big selection of English and Japanese songs, as well as other languages. It's best to come during happy hours because otherwise it's a little pricy. But it's lots of fun, especially if you like karaoke but don't want to sing in front of a bar full of people!
Best Buy has a great selection of products. Unfortunately their customer service is not very good. I also had the same problem about the magazine subscriptions that the other reviewer had. It seemed very underhanded, and it took several phone calls (andbeing hung up on several times) before I was able to resolve the problem. After that orderal I stopped shopping here because I no longer trust them with my credit card information.
Mitsuwa is like a mini Japanese department store. The grocery store has lots of Japanese and American products and a great Japanese bakery! The Asahiya bookstore has tons of Japanese language books. The other smaller gift shops have lots of great specialty items. My favourite part is the food court which has a great selection of food!!
Marukai has LOADS of Japanese goods! You can find just about any Japanese food here. There are also great Japanese gifts, home furnishings and appliances. There's also a small section with foods from Hawaii! Saimin, macadamia nuts, cookies! The only drawback would be that you have to pay a membership fee, but it's worth it.
I get my hair cut and straightened here. They do a really good job and the salon has a nice atmosphere. Everyone is very friendly! The hair straightening really works great. After getting my hair done in Japan for so long, I was worried that I would have trouble finding a good stylist in California, but Jun's does a great job!
