Best shabu shabu restaurant I've been to. Go there early and put yourself on the waiting list BEFORE it opens for dinner or you'll find yourself waiting for up to an hour or more to get a seat! It's that popular!
Fritto Misto is an Italian restaurant that adds a bit of flair to traditional Italian dishes. There's another Fritto Misto in Hermosa Beach but I like the one in Santa Monica more.
Though not as popular as it once was, this boba tea cafe still makes a great tapioca green tea drink at only $1.25 per pop.
I have to say that Costco (the one in Torrance) is my favorite store. Great customer service!
This review is actually for their bakery. The restaurant is mediocre but their bakery, especially their signature cakes, can't be beat. For chocolate lovers, I'd recommend the Dream or Mocha Haupia cakes.
I think this is probably the best theater around. In an era where multiplexes are sprouting everywhere, it's nice to see that single theatres like this one still exists. The digital projector and sound system is top notch. Unfortunately, since this theater doesn't have stadium seating, the occasional person with the big hair can dampen your movie-going experience.
The prices for the Director's Hall is on the high side, but I really like the fact that you can reserve your seats, walk in 1 minute before the movie starts without having to break a sweat, and have that little extra elbow room as you watch the movie. The digital projector is nice too...though the projector at Mann's Village in Westwood is probably the best.
The stringer there does a really good re-stringing job; however, the equipment selection is slim. A friend swears by the Racket Doctor for their prices and selections, so I will try out that shop the next time around.
What Empress Pavilion lacks in dim sum variety, Ocean Star easily makes up for it. And the prices are very reasonable!
One of the best places for dim sum. Although their selection and variety has dwindled slightly over the past few years, it's still worth the trip out there.
