Olympus Spa
This Olympus Spa is the second and newest location. I had previously been to the Tacoma location, but this one is much newr and better. The old one is a little cheesy on the decor, but this one is more like a true spa experience. The jade mud and heat room is wonderful. It is truly relaxing and rejuventing to go here. And so much cheaper than most day spas. You will get hooked!
Paws Cat City
I live nearby and get to see the cats playing together in the windows almost daily. It really picks up my day to see them all being treated so well. The staff is very attentive to them, and they seem to be having a great time playing with one another. I have never adopted from them, because my own cat would hate it if I got another cat. He'd probably hurt the poor thing, or at least make his life miserable. However, if I could adopt a kitty from them I would trust this center completely. Take it from a fellow cat-lover, this place treats their cats well!
Caruh
I have never gotten a haircut here, but I do go here to buy my Aveda hair and beauty products. They really do have wonderful shampoos and hair paste. It can be pricey and the salespeople may try to upsell. So as long as you know what you want and don't succumb to the sales technique, you will be fine and you'll have some beautiful hair!!
PROS: Amazing products made with great ingredients!
CONS: Pushy salespeople
Rudys Barber Shop
Rudy's is a good place to go to get your haircut on the cheap. For around 20 bucks they will give you a really good haircut. There is plenty to look at on the walls while you are being primped - lots of music posters and other hip stuff. Once you go and find someone you like, you can call ahead and reserve that person. Or if you just go in, you get whoever is available. Either way can work for you, it just depends on your needs.
Fremont Public Association
The FPA is a wonderful social service agency who work tirelessly to end poverty, hunger, and prejudice in Seattle. They network with several agencies including Americorp and Vista, and serve their community well. They offer shelter, housing, food, education and other services for the community. They have a true commitment to social justice and diversity. Check them out at www.fremontpublic.org
U Frame It
I've had 2 things professinally framed here - one large photograph and one special poster. In both cases I was impressed with their service. I get compliments on the frame all the time because it is very unique and beautiful. The other one I gave away as a gift, but it also looked really nice. They are affordable and professional. They have several locations around town - I have also used the one in Wallingford on 45th. They are also very good.
Monkey Grind Espresso Bar
This cute cafe has a great logo - the Monkey Grind monkey is known to many Seattleites because it is so original. Once you step inside you will see an all monkey decor that is really cool. The owner, Trish and her mom both work here, and they really care about their product. They always serve you a minty chocolate stick with your beverage. Always a good drink served here.
Parts Plus
They have several locations throughout Seattle, including Roosevelt, Airport, and Kirkland as well as Ballard. I always go here for my auto parts because they are affordable, local, and honest. I once bought a battery for my car, and after I installed it I found out there was another problem besides the battery. I took it back and they gave me a full refund, no questions asked. Plus, they were really friendly doing it.
Erics Garage
I've been going to this garage for 10 years now, and i have always received fair and honest service. They know about cars and care about their customers, which can be a rare event in the industry. They will offer you an estimate and call you ahead of time if it needs to be adjusted. Plus they finish on time. Plus they are not a corporate auto repair company - this is their one location. I can trust this company and recommend them highly.
Lucky 7
I really enjoy getting my haircut here because they are affordable - around 20 bucks for a haircut. They offer a punch card that will give you a free haircut after 9, the tenth is free. This card also allows you to save "20% off all products 3rd visit" and "20% off all services on 7th visit". My favorite hairstylist no longer works there, which is a bummer. But from what I've heard from her they are all great. They will play good music and bring some good conversation, but most importantly I have never been disappointed with my haircut.
