A great group of gals from the former San Roque Preschool are running a great little school for the little ones over on La Cumbre Road...a place filled with fun and love.
The first time, I had all the time in the world to shop and enjoyed the interesting selection of gifts, jewelry, and clothing and didn't notice the potential for problems that occurred later.
The second time, I was on a time schedule and had a goal of buying several quick gifts for the holiday and my parents' upcoming birthdays. Not only was I prevented from circumnavigating the store by crowded displays, but indecisive customers stood in front of the jewelry counter and other display case near the register and were not asked to move aside for me even when it was obvious I had been waiting patiently for over 10 minutes. I really had no patience for lurking around behind them pretending to look at the same things over again in hopes that they would move!
The main problem seemed to be the owner was visibly and audibly ill and was telling all of us details about it as we checked out. Consequently, when I finally got to the counter, she instantly excused herself to the back to take some medication, came back sneezing and coughing, and then proceeded to wrap one of my gifts and not the others. The sales girl waited around while the owner talked to me about her symptoms and then asked if the gift for my father should be wrapped in tissue or just loose in the box! Not only was I appalled at her lack of retail knowledge and the ridiculous amount of time i spent in the store compared to how long it should have taken, but that the owner of the store was open while ill and infecting her customers so admittedly during the holiday season...
Although we did not leave with our dream car today, this dealer was pleasant, listened to our needs, and was suggestive not pushy. Because of them, we are actually considering a model of car we had not previously thought to be an option. They left us with a card, took our number, and offered to call with any future good fits for our needs on a Dodge Magnum.
Internet Ad Price was completely a lie. Dealer Ken lied also when he told us it would be worth our while to travel over 70 miles away from home to make a deal on one of two used 2007 Dodge Magnums with over 13k&15k miles and then he refused go lower than a measly several hundred dollars ABOVE our absolute top end budget amount, even with a propsed trade in. This dealership had the worst service of any of the seven dealerships we visited today on the central coast so far and was supposed to be the best. No AC on a 80 + degree day in the dealer building, no offer of water, no service at all...they kept my license and sweatshirt there for an hour with access to both of my phone numbers and didn't have the courtesy to call me before I drove all the way home. Luckily, I was so pissed that I noticed the sweatshirt was missing and went back myself to find it sitting on the chair. I would never reccomend them to a friend or enemy. The Nissan dealer next door was so much more pleasant and intuitively asked why we "looked like we had just had a traumatic experience" when we went there on our way to our car that I was only sorry they didn't have Magnums there because it would have been sold!
Try the $30 student massage clinics here for some low cost relaxation. Call for an appointment, I don't have a favorite student because they change regularly, but all have been nice and respectful of any needs/injuries. A nice building in the midst of what locals think of as "the ghetto",, parking can be a little tricky so go early so you don't stress. Try this more regularly than I have and you should see great results because I felt like I was much improved after one session!
Definitely head to the store in Paseo Nuevo or the one in La Cumbre Mall when you need a new tshirt, hat, sweatshirt, belt, or fun belt buckle. They almost always have some sale, Pac Bucks Promo, or other deal going on especially on the weekends. Check out the shoe sale too, I bought my man DC skate shoes for $20 on sale instead of $60. I love the girls or guys small sweatshirts on sale because I get them for under $30 instead of iver $50. Great place to get a gift for someone that digs skater/surfer/CA style.
I tried the student bodywork clinic two separate times and had two very nice student practicioners. Each one was courteous, friendly, respectful of injuries or special needs, and spent the full time trying to alleviate some of my problem tensions and pains. If you have a really specific or painful injury it may be best to go to a fully trained therapist, but if you are interested in trying something new for stress management or mild injury, this is a great start. I also had good results with the $30 accupunture clinic so call for an appoinment or stop by to see facility...
Use the ad in the phonebook for a large item you have been putting off taking to be cleaned. I chose to bring a large white eyelet comforter to them for laundering and they did a beautiful job with it. Also once, I remember asking them to clean an embroidered pillow sham and it also turned out fine despite my trepdation. Definitely convenient locations all over to serve you and they offer a great one day service for you on the go or procrastinating types for no extra charge!
PROS: 3 locations
I took a party dress here with a bad stain on it from a wedding, and with the right instruction when I brought the garment in for cleaning, it came out beautifully and is wearable once again! I'd try them for regular cleaning if I dry cleaned more of my wardrobe, but maybe look for coupons in the local ads or paper because as with any cleaners, it can get expensive. My dress was worth every penny because I did not have to give it to Goodwill.
I have gone in this electrical supply shop many times, but have been most impressed with the friendly help to a female in a shop that mostly deals with contractors all day. I needed a large quantity of specific light bulbs for an office one time, and a pair of special bulbs for a home organizing client another, and each time I got prompt help when I walked in. Try them out for replacement bulbs or a rewiring kit to use on that antique or special lamp you've been waiting to revamp.
PROS: Park easily on the side of shop.
CONS: Can get busy!
