This is a very simple looking restaurant. Some tables and booths surrounding a counter that you can walk up to and order our take out at. But, don't let it's looks fool you. Tacos El Norte is a quality restaurant with unforgettable Mexican Food. This is NO Taco Bell. They have waitress service at the tables and booths...before you order your meal, you will have homemade salsa and restaurant made tortilla chips (warm) on your table. The salsa is homemade so it is slightly different everytime. Somedays hot, sometimes FIREY...always good. Makes no difference if you order tacos, burritos, tostados, or quesadillas...everything is good. Oh, and let's not forget, the prices are good too!!! No wonder they have expanded in the last few years. Excellent all around.
The Paragon restaurant is a very attractive restaurant conveniently located on Grand Ave in Waukegan. They have delicious entrees, sandwiches, and soups and are reasonably priced. They attract alot of seniors in their restaurant due to their seniors menu. They are family owned and operated and they manage to make you feel like a guest in their home when you dine with them. The Paragon is open 24 hours a day..so no matter when you need a great sandwich, day or night, they are there for you.
This pizza restaurant is excellent. M-F from 11-1 they have a pizza, pasta, salad, and more buffet. It is a little bit expensive but a good deal. The price for the buffet is $7.95 for adults and $4.95 for kids 4-12 years old. The buffet is all homemade. The chicken wings are great. The only problem with Potesta's would be that they could use a larger diningroom to accomodate all the patrons at their doors. They do offer a regular pizza and pasta menu and as far as I have ever experienced, everything is good at Potestas!!
This orthodontist is a mini-legend in our city. Nearly every child in my children's school that has braces, goes to Dr Kattner. His office is exceptionally clean and patient friendly. My other children don't mind waiting in the waiting room for their sister thanks to the thoughtfulness of the office in providing Nintendo Gameboys for the waiting room. The large fish tank with fish that resemble the fish from "Finding Nemo" is just a reminder that they go the extra mile. The techs that work in Dr. Kattner's office are professional and VERY kind and gentle with my child. This office is a joy to work with and I am very happy to have a Dr that my child lokes so much. They do provide financing (interest free) with a reasonable downpayment and have passed on the downpayment for those that can't afford it.
I took my child into get her glasses. We were barely serviced AT ALL....the guy at the desk tossed a box with a number of possible frames in it on the counter and walked away while we looked through it. When we ordered, we were told it would take 8-12 WEEKS to get her glasses in. They told me to call and check. They don't call us....so, I asked, "am I to call daily from 8-12 weeks?" And was told "if you like". 3 months later, my daughter got glasses that didn't look like the frames we ordered. Nothing went well and I was completely unhappy with their lack of service.
These clinics are in association with the Milwaukee Children's Hospital. They provide care for those with or without the ability to pay for specialists care. They accept the IL medicaid which so many specialists don't. They provide extraordinary care for the children in need of it. I like this clinic because unlike so many clinics that cater to the less fortunate, this clinic is immaculate, the wait time is short, and the staff is professional.
The Children's Place located in Gurnee Mills Shopping Center is a good choice for children's clothing if you are looking for trendy "now" clothing for your kids. They tend to be a bit on the expensive end in their regular priced items, but usually have lots of sales and clearance as well as mailer coupons available to be able to get yourself a good deal with a bit of work. I found their sizes to be undersized. My older children outgrew this store long before they outgrew other stores children's depts. Overall, Very good.
I love David's Bridal!! They have frequent $99 sales for their gowns and you would never believe how beautiful a gown $99 buys!! They have higher end dresses as well, but honestly, why pay more when you can get a drop dead gorgeous gown on a budget!! I bought my plus size gown there for only $99, which reminds me...they have a very nice plus size selection something you can't find in all bridal shops. They also carry a lovely selection of brides maid gowns and all the accessories you need to dress you and all your maidens.
The best thing I like about this store is the pricing. They are very reasonably priced for the items they sell. They are geared towards the beauty professional, but as a lay person, I find great deals there on items you may usually look for in the beauty section of your drug store. One of the best deals there in my opinion are the ear piercing earrings. If you get your or your child's ears pierced and want to maintain the good health of your ears by wearing ear piercing studs, they range only $2.49-$4.99 at Sallys as opposed to over $10 at the mall. Great deal, Sally!!
You will be impressed with the sheer size of this video store. From the outside, it looks like a huge warehouse type building. People's Choice video moved into this empty grocery store several years ago and is offering video rentals, an arcade area, a snack bar, and so much more. They provice cell phone services and their video selection varies from children and family to an X rated adult area. They are priced fairly, about what most video stores charge. Being family owned in years past, they have offered several free video or .01 days to thank the public for their patronage as well as New Year's Eve parties and other thank yous. Good Job People's Choice!
