I have referred so many of my friends to this office. Dr Gamboa's office is a father/son team of dentists. Both of them are fantastic!
There are two hygentists who are both gentle and friendly. Mrs Gamboa runs the front office. They make you feel right at home.
The office is downtown. It is really convenient for people who work downtown. They are always on-time. Always!
The best thing about the office is that they are friendly. The next best thing is that they are very competent dentists who do not push elective dentistry on you. Several friends of mine have had recommended work by other dentists, came in to Dr Gamboa, and were told they didn't need it or could/should wait. Prices are moderate for dentists.
I have been to Chloe's for brunch a few times now. In fact, we went for a celebration brunch after getting married at City Hall.
The food is pretty good but standard. The french toast is good. The coffee is standard. The eggs are standard. It is very crowded inside and there tend to be flies with the weather is nice and they have the doors open. This drove me crazy. The service is average. They tend to get you in and out quickly as there is always a line around the corner.
If you live in the neighborhood, it is a great spot. I am not sure if it is worth driving across town for, finding parking, and waiting forever for a table. A better bet for breakfast in SF is my favorite - Just Like Home.
this place is great. a very typical retro family ice cream parlor.
the place is always crowded. the young kids that work there look exhausted. the place is crazy. plan to wait to get a table. it is much quicker to get a cone to go and take a walk up and down piedmont avenue.
the ice cream is good and the portions are off the hook. a regular scoop is the same size as a double else where - be prepared to grab napkins and an extra cup to plop your cone down.
great ice cream and a great place to take the family and friends while in oakland.
i went to sfsu for graduate school after completing my undergrad at a UC.
it is impossible to judge an entire university, its facilities, faculty, couse and degree offerings, in one review. but in whole, i think sfsu is a great school.
i liked the great student mix at sfsu. not just by ethnicity, but age and educational backgrounds. it was interesting to be in courses with people with all different life experiences. at UC, my classes were mostly young 18-21 year olds who may have been smart but were not too experienced.
sfsu has been called a commuter school and it is true that it doesnt have that party college feel to it. most students work and are motivated - at least in my experience.
a great bargain for those in the bay area. also ccsf.
this is my favorite spot for mexican in the city.
it is a husband-wife establishment in the marina. they used to have two places around the corner from one another but they closed one. when i asked why, they said they wanted to work together!
they grill your meat to order. the nachos, chicken fajita tacos, and crisy california beef tacos are fabulous.
everything is moderately priced, clean and with super friendly service. they are sometimes busy, but you can grab a menu and call ahead.
not to be missed! grab a burritto and head for the water's edge to watch the sailboats and pelicans.
