Silverado Resort
This is a very large hotel and golf club in Napa Valley. I enjoy going there mostly because you can get good weekend rates in the off-season because the place is so large with so many rooms. There is golf, at least one pool, and a spa. It's nice, but not GREAT. Mostly, I feel this because it is so large so it doesn't feel all that home-y or boutique-y. It's a solid place to stay in Napa though and the people are nice and the bar area is cozy and fun. All around a solid place to stay in Napa Valley although I am sure there are more chi-chi places and cute boutique-style hotels. This is a good value when you can get a good deal on room rates which seems to happen more often than not.
PROS: Good facilities, Nice service, Good rates availabke due to large size
CONS: Large and not very "cozy"
Gregg's Cycles Inc
The people who work here are super nice and responsive. The selection is fabulous. I bought a roadbike here and the service was great in both the sale and follow-up. I trust this place and had a fabulous experience buying my bike from them. I can't comment on their bike servicing but I'd bet it's solid.
PROS: Good selection, Nice People. Good Follow-Up Service
CONS: None that I can think of
Klinger Advanced Aesthetics
I only went here one time for a facial service and it sucked. They sold me terrible, over-priced product all of which I returned after using it and burning my face. I think this place was once the rage many years ago but at this point I wouldn't go there again or anymore. They basically haven't kept up with the times and the latest in skin services and products. There are a zillion better places in NY I am sure.
PROS: Brand Recognition
CONS: Mediocre Services and Bad Produects
Olive & Bette's
This is an fancy girls and ladies clothing boutique specializing in hip urban wear for people who spend a lot of money for their weekend clothes and who follow trends and what is cool and what is not. This store has some great stuff from fun LA and NYC designers, but also lots of lame trendy stuff which is sure to be out out OUT next season and so therefore not worth the price they are selling it for (like fruit pebble color UGG boots). Be cautious shopping here.
PROS: Good selection, top brands
CONS: sometimes way too trendy and high prices
Andalu
This is a wonderful restaurant with very delicious food and a fun atmoshere and good service. The only problem is that sometimes it's hard to get full for the prices - this is because many of the dishes are really light and not that filling. It's small plates which means you order a bunch of plates and then share them with the entire table. It's fun atmosphere though and the food tastes great - it just ends up being EXPENSIVE so you have to order many plates to get full.
PROS: Great food, Great Service
CONS: Can get expensive

Harry's Bar
This is a very happening bar on Filmore Street and gets jumping on Thursdays and Fridays. The scene is mostly people in their 20s and 30s and late at night there is music. Mostly yuppies dressed up for the SF Social scene. They have a full bar and also serve feed for dinner. It's pretty good - mostly stuff like burgers and some fancier dishes too. Nothing really fancy though. If you're into "the scene" you should like going to Harry's.
PROS: Good crowds, Fun Music late night, Good atmosphere
CONS: Sometimes way too crowded
Make-Up Art Cosmetics Inc
This is a store for women who love make-up. It carries only the MAC brand of cosmetics and everyone in the store specializes in this brand. If you like MAC products, this is one of the largest retail MAC locations I've ever seen (Washington DC is the other) and they'll have everything you could ever dream of and more. I don't love their products though, and their style of make-up is too heavy and flamboyant to me, and I don't trust their salespeople's recommendations in general (they wear too much make-up), so I don't like this store overall.
PROS: Great selection of MAC products
CONS: Not My Style,
Beal Creative Group
Steve Beal owns this strategic marketing, graphic design, and advertising company and it is WORLD CLASS. He helps companies design their logos, all of their communication tools like direct mail pieces, sales collateral, product packaging design, etc. Steve has a great design eye and his business is very very high-quality. Mostly he seems to do work for architecture and law firms - He is the nicest guy ever. Check out the website for more details - his services are for companies who have $$$ in their marketing budget though as he is not cheap.
PROS: Top Quality, Nice Management
CONS: None
H & R Block
I only had my taxes down by H&R one time but they made a HUGE mistake which would have cost me $350 if the government hadn't caught it and let me know about it and sent me a refund check for $350. When I complained to H&R and said they should refund the entire cost of doing my taxes for such terrible service b/c they almost COST me $350, they said they'd only send me a $50 credit towards NEXT YEAR'S taxes. I never went back and never would - they're terrible.
PROS: None
CONS: Terrible Unreliable Service
