PUPUSERIA DEL VALLE

Burbank, CA Restaurants 06/23/07: 'Finally, authentic local Salvadorian food'

I heard about this tiny little gem from another business. Its small, very accessible, and well worth the wait for home cooked Papusas. They are light and fluffy and melt in your mouth. Made fresh to order, there are so many flavors, that @ $1.90 you'll be able to afford more than one; to sample them. There are little tables inside and outside, parking in front. You will be hooked after the first bite. And if you like your food spicy then you'll love these papusas. The other prices are also low and again, its like having food from your best friends mom, who is from El Salvador!!

Munari Produce Company

Las Vegas, NV Restaurants 01/12/07: '5 star class food and service!'

If you want amazing Italian food with a Northern flare, then you must experience Munari Produce!! Wine, food, style are all authentic. You wont find better unless you travel to Italy.
The location is also amazing, just like you were in Italy. I suggest any of the side salads, Ministrone soup, any entree, and a Cannoli to finish it off.
There is seating; with decor, you'll forget that you are in the desert.
When you are done dining, go ahead and shop for fresh produce.
Enjoy and Mangiare!!

Sun Moon Garden

Burbank, CA Chinese Restaurants 02/01/06: 'Good food is a hit and miss'

I use to frequent this restaurant quite often, and I am not sure if they changed ownership, but the quality of food just went downhill. I do have a few friends that enjoy their food, but the last 2 times that I went and dined-in, the food was very salty and one of the times they must have just cleaned as there was a strong order of cleaning chemicals. This was the last time for me. I have eaten the most expensive items being served as a sit down meal and have ordered just a simple meal of vegetables and rice as a pick-up order.
Their service is quick and friendly, whether it be dine-in or pick-up, but their quality and taste is just too inconsistent for me.
The restaurant sits in a parking lot, usually no problem, and prices are reasonable.
My favorite dish from here is Kung Pao Chicken.

Harry's Family Restaurant

Burbank, CA Restaurants 01/30/06: 'Ok food at cheap prices'

The best thing about this restaurant is the outside seating area with the heat lamp/torches. If you smoke this is a good thing and if you dont then you need to sit inside. Its one of the few all night restaurants so its gets rather busy on the weekends. The food is typical diner food, but the I believe the owner is Greek, so the salads have Feta cheese if you want along with Greek olives. The servings are large, counter and booth seating besides the outdoor seating. The bathrooms could be cleaner and the waitresses will kind of give you the boot if you stay too long and get too many refills. I like the breakfast items and soups the best, and find that this type of atmosphere reminds me of high school and old movies. Service is pretty quick and has a good ambience. There is parking either on the street or in the lot in the back.

Chili John's

Burbank, CA Mexican Restaurants 01/30/06: 'Fantastic Chili'

If you like chili come to Chili Johns, WOW, fantastic chili at affordable prices. I have been buying chili here since the 1970's and never tire of their chili or the cool atmosphere inside. The outside doesnt look like much, and hasnt changed that I know of, but inside is the best chili. Homemade, you wont find anything in a jar or at any other fast food restaurant that tastes this good. Service is great, its a fun place to stop at for lunch, but can sometimes get busy. Street parking only, give it a try!

Burbank General Store

Burbank, CA General Stores 01/30/06: 'Lots of movie items'

I was hoping by the name and location that I would find more than I did inside, but the inventory is pretty scarce. They do, however, have a some neat movie/tv collectibles like action figures and posters but there really isnt anything else in the store and you can be in out in 10 minutes. So, we were pretty disappointed in our trip down there. Prices are ok. Parking is on the street and is scarce, so you might have to use some of the sidestreets.

Card Heaven

Burbank, CA Greeting Cards 01/30/06: 'This is a very large store with so many choices'

I love going to this store, takes me forever to pick out a card but we always find something that we didnt need but enjoy having. There are cards, wrapping paper, toys, magnets, decals, ornaments, etc But my all time favorites are the different figurines, some are clocks, that match a person's career/job. My family literally spends at least an hour just walking around looking at all the great gifts. Most of the employees are nice but if you try and return something, even with the receipt they sometimes give you a frown. I think its one of the best card shops around, their inventory just cant be beat. And if you cant find a gift for someone in this shop you didnt look hard enough. Its really a one stop shopping place for gifts. And they carry a lot of the popular collectible items. Parking is easy because they are in a huge lots, open long hours as well. Prices are very competitive.

Once in a while I quilt and wanted to make a unique wedding present. So, after I made my quilt I called a few places looking for someone who would machine embroider two names and a date. Finally, after several calls, Burbank Embroidery said they would do the job for me. It wasnt expensive at all and I even got to go into the shop and watch how it was done. They do several other services like screen printing for promotional items and the such. I am sure that in large quantities there work is flawless as my item was and the recepients really enjoyed there one of a kind item. Thanks Burbank Embroidery I really appreciate the personal service that you gave me.

Burbank Pastry

Burbank, CA Bakers & Bakeries 01/30/06: 'This is the only place that I will purchase Baklava'

Althought this is Armenian owned, they make several Greek pastries that are delicious along with other Middle Eastern delacacies. The shop is small but loaded with tradional pastries that are filled with chocolate or Bavarian creme. They also have coffee based treats like Cappacinos, expressos and lattes as well as ice creams and frozen yogurts. I love the coconut macaroons and cookies because they are really large and filling. There is seating inside and outside in a little quaint garden. Prices are so low that its hard not to overeat. Street parking and sometimes hard in the morning, because everyone is stopping for their own coffee and pastries.
