As far as prices go, L D's Clip Joint is pretty good. But, you have to watch who you get to cut your hair. I have used the place 4 times total. The only time my hair, and my daughters hair was done right, was when Lorraine, the owner did it. I will not let the other girls touch my hair, or my daughters again. It was cut too short, and my daughters was so uneven, my mom had to "fix" it. Lorraine herself does an awesome job, I am happy every time she cuts it.
I have to admit, going to the Dr. is not a fun thing for me, especially for "women" things. This office is pleasant to go to, the wait time is small, and the Drs and staff are very friendly and put you at ease. I was very comfortable talking with them about my problem. They were quick to treat me, and make me feel better both emotionally and physically
Both of my kids go to Coastal Peds. I think the first thing that I noticed in their favor was the fact that they have two sides to their office. The sick visit side, and the well visit side. I have always hated taking my daughter in for a well check up, and having her sitting there playing with a child that was sick. They have lots of toys to keep the kids busy till their name is called. I have never had trouble getting seen, and even when they are very busy, they will get you worked in. The Dr's and nurses are very friendly, and the place is very clean.
Although the staff and Dr. are very very nice. The place, in my opinion is a scam. I went there because for years I have had a bad neck, and it has started to get worse. My husband had given me a coupon he got from work, for a free massage at the Optimum Wellness center.. so I thought why not. Well I should have known the first day, when instead of getting my massage, I was told I had to be evaluated first. To make a long story short, I ended up going there for 2 months, 3 times a week. Although my neck started to feel better, my tailbone started to hurt so bad I could barely move. The Dr. keep saying it would work itself out, and doing "special" adjustments for it. Well I finally got fed up and stopped going. About 2 weeks later, I had no more tailbone pain. I won't go back.
I had to have my van towed to Carquest, for some repairs. I called all over town, and everyone wanted too much money to tow my van 2 miles down the road. Thompson and Son were very reasonable on their prices, and they have newer equipment, so I didn't have to worry about my van while it was being towed. They showed up the next morning at the designated time, and got my van to carquest unharmed, with out costing me a fortune.
Although I have never officially had a car repaired there, the contact I have had with them has been excellent. The transmission on our van was slipping, and although my husband is a mechanic, he is not a transmission mechanic. We had some questions about the type of problem our van was having. When we called J&R, they were very helpful in answering our questions, and even ordered the part we needed, for my husband to install himself. Now that's good customer service.
Albemarle family practice is not my first choice in health care, but is my only option. They are always packed, so be prepared to wait. The nurses, and PA's are very friendly. They try to get you in quick if you have an emergency. The offices are very plain, and no frills. The reason they do a booming business is that they are one of the few Dr. offices to accept federal assistance insurance. The one plus that they have, is there are two offices, one in Elizabeth City, and one in Camden.
I knew there were people in this world that took advantage of others, but seeing it first hand is bad. This place offers you a buy here, pay here option, for those who can't get credit. Then he wants to charge you and outrageous monthly payment, for a car that isn't worth it, and probably shouldn't even be on the road. I won't go back. When I saw what he was offering me, and the money he wanted. That told me all I needed to know about the type of morals he has.
Chaunceys is a mix between a pawn shop and a music store. Downstairs is the pawn shop area, and they have a lot to choose from. Upstairs is the music store, and they best customer service around. I went there looking for something for my husband for Christmas. I really don't know much about guitars. The staff were very helpful. I just described what my husband liked to play, and they made great recommendations.
I can't say enough about the food at Kathys Kreations. They have the best chicken salad I have ever tasted. This is a very small place, right on Hughes. They are only open for a limited time each day, but during lunch they are always packed. You can eat in or carry out, and they do catering. They have a wide variety of foods, and desserts. You won't go wrong choosing this place as your next lunch stop, or having them cater your next meeting. My mom and I stop for lunch here when we are out running around, we get a good lunch, without killing our diet.
