This is where the Lands End catalog sells some of its "not so perfect" items to the public. The clothes look great, and most are still priced rather high, though less than the catalog book value. Every once in a while, though, they'll have a BIG sale and the prices get better. I found some great pants for my husband here at like 25 percent of regular price.
This is the shop where they make the famous Affy Tapples. You can come here to get many boxes of the sweets to sell, like for your school or public organization. Best to order first, though, or you may be waiting a long time. In addition to the main fare - carmel apples and carmel with nuts, at times they also sell fancier ones, with choclate or candy on the outside. Makes eating your fruits more enjoyable.
This is a very interesting alley. The decor makes it like a 20s-30s nightclub, a much different experience than most bowling alleys. They also serve food, my husband's job actually had a team-building event here. They had a good time, and he said the food was great. Surprising for a bowling alley, huh?
This preschool is run by the Skokie Park District, and is so popular they have a waiting list. My boss took her son here for preschool, and while she said he enjoyed it, it was very expensive. They have a nice outdoor play area, and they have some cool field trips they take the kids on. A great place to come if you can afford it!
This fabric store is great -they stock many types of fabric, and even keep out-of-print fabrics available. They had Cubs MLB fabric that was discontinued, and sold it to me for a reasonable price and sent it across the country so I could make a blanket for my son. Thanks!
We use Mark Balkin, a partner in this firm, through my job. He knows a lot about telecommunications law, and the ins and outs of cable franchises. Not the most sexy type of law, but he knows it well. They are still working, despite the hurricane, though they are more spread out. Give them a call!
We use this consulting company for my job. Andrew Afflerbach is a very knowledgable man, who can tell you WAY more than you want to know about cable wiring, fiber optic networks, and VoIP. He is personable and easy to work with, and though he is a consultant, his prices are reasonable for the type of work he does.
Easy to get to, and street parking is available. This shop is kind of small, but has good selection of Christian books and Bibles. The people who work there are friendly to refer you to items that may interest you. Nice place to shop if you want an in-store experience.
I came to a small party here and the room was set up nice, but quite small. Made the group feel cramped/cloistered, even though there was plenty of space - just felt closed in. The food was pretty good - prime rib and potatoes, great salad to start - but the desert - a cake, was very gross. Only redeeming quality was the whipped cream frosting. mmm.....
This is the factory where these nuts/candies are produced and sent out. They have an "outlet" store, but the prices are not that much lower than you'd pay elsewhere. Still, you know they're very fresh and very good.
