I have used White Rose car service several times for drop off and pick up at the airport. Each time I call them for a drop off at the airport, the driver remembers to ask what day and time I am coming back and whether I want to arrange a car to pick me up. They also give me a number to call when the flight lands so the taxi will be waiting for me when I get out of the airport. They do not charge any extra for the prearranged pick up service and it is very convenient. The cars are comfortable and clean and the drivers are very friendly.
I have used Flecha Limouisine Service for 8 years. They have nice large cars but the cars are not new (usually they send something in the size of a Lincoln Town Car). The drivers are all very courteous and knowledgeable about local streets. I have used them for airport service (drop off and prearranged pick up) as well as for local travel. Their prices are competitive and the cars are always clean. Sometimes the car can be a little slow for a pickup but they always do come.
I used to live right around the corner from Rapido Car Service, so I used them often to go to the airport. The cars were generally older model large cars that were in decent shape but definitely not new. Most of the drivers were polite but not all spoke English well. The cars usually came very quickly. The drivers did drive a little too fast and reckless for my taste but I'm pretty conservative at driving. The cars were clean even if they were older. I never had a problem with them.
I have been going to Dr. Kaykova for about 3 years. I have found her to be very approachable and up-to-date on the latest medical research. It is not difficult to get an appointment with her and she is willing to spend time to answer patient's questions. I have gone to her for a variety of reasons, from immunizations for travel to diagnosis of what turned out to be cat scratch fever (it's not just a song title!). I would definitely recommend her and I plan to keep seeing her as my primary care physician.
We bought our current house through Weichert Realtors in Fort Lee. Several months after the closing, we discovered that they were still advertising our house for sale in a local magazine. We called and asked them to stop running the ad; they said they would but did not. We ended up having to complain to the NJ state real estate commission before they would stop advertising our house for sale without our consent.
I used Gary the Plumber a few times -- for installing a washer and dryer, and for repair of clogged drain pipes. Their service was pretty quick and I never had any problems with their work. Their workers were polite and cleaned the area after they were finished. The only complaint I had is that their service charges seemed to be higher than other companys in the area, but I never had a problem with the work they performed.
I went to Christ Hospital to deliver my baby. My first impression was not a favorable one -- even though I was clearly in labor, the clerk checking me in refused to do anything until I personally (and not my husband) had filled out a pile of forms. Even though I was having contractions during the paperwork, the clerk said only "we'll wait until your done." Not a very caring thing to say! The nurses, once I finally was admitted to the hospital, were much more attentive to the needs of the patients.
Carlos City Hall Bake Shop is very conveniently located on Washington Street, across the street from City Hall and close to the Path station. They have a nice selection of assorted cakes and pastries. They are justly famous for their cannolis, and the chocolate chip cannoli is absolutely fabulous. They have a nice selection of wedding cakes, and the more "understated" cakes on their wedding roster are some of the most beautiful ones I have seen for a reasonable price.
Antique Bakery makes excellent "old world" style bread. They bake the bread every day so it is always fresh. They make a wonderful whole wheat loaf that is very dense and chewy and full of flavor. Their sesame rolls are also well worth making a trip for. Their prices are comparable to other bakeries or grocery stores in the area, and their quality just cannot be beat.
L & Q Video Rentals may not have as large a store as Blockbuster, but they do have a pretty good selection and the family that runs the store is so nice. They always have at least one movie that I want to see, even if the first run videos are checked out.
