I have gone into Talbot's once for some clothes for the office. I thought the clothes were too bland and conservative for my taste. Although the clothes are not my style, they do look like they are of good quality and reasonable price. Another plus is that Talbot's does carry petite sizes.
I like Walmart because it carries a little of everything. You can easily go to Walmart and pick up some groceries, power tools, clothes, and more. It saves you the time of having to drive to three or four different stores. Walmart also has pretty low prices. The only gripe I have with this one is that it is usually very crowded on the weekends which makes it difficult to navigate through the store.
J Crew has a great selection of business and casual clothing. Most of their clothes are on the conservative or preppy side. They carry classic suits and shirts that can last more than one season. Another plus about J Crew is their petite line. Most of the styles that they carry are also carried in petite sizes.
Since Old Navy is a sister store to Gap and Banana Republic, there are times you can find much less expensive versions of Gap or BR pieces at Old Navy. Its nice to get trendy stuff that you may not want to wear more than a few times. This is definitely a great store for shoppers on a budget.
BR is a store I consistently shop at. I think its great because they have a variety of clothes ranging from classic to trendy. I can easily find pieces for the office, going out or even special occasions. Many of their pieces can easily be dressed up or down too. The original prices are a bit high, but their sale prices are pretty reasonable.
