This is my favorite casino. Caesars is in a pretty good location, lot's of stores up and down the boardwalk from it. It's across from what used to be the Ocean One Mall which they are now remodeling. I think the hotel lobby is really beautiful. There's a very high ceiling, with clouds painted on it, and you're surrounded by Roman statues. It's really cool. The hotel rooms are very nice, I've never had one that wasn't clean. They have a few restaurants and a buffet, all of which are pretty nice. The casino is big and has a nice nonsmoking section. Trump Plaza is next-door but there is no indoor walkway. On the other side is Bally's Wild West and there is a walkway. Actually, you could keep walking through until you get to The Sands. On a hot day or a rainy one, this comes in handy.
PROS: Clean, great decor, good food, non-smoking casino section
The Taj is usually very crowded, so sometimes it can be difficult to play where you want to play in the casino. The slot machines themselves can be pretty dirty. The staff is friendly and the decor is pretty nice. They have a nonsmoking section in the casino which is pretty nice. The have a few restaurants, but none of the food is spectacular. The rooms in the hotel are nice and they have an express elevator which makes getting to and from the room easier. The location is at the end of the boardwalk next to Showboat. There is an indoor walkway, but it is rather secluded, so I would just be cautious walking there alone at night. The Steel Pier is across the way. If you're a cat lover, walk over towards the beach and you're sure to see a family of cats living on the beach right across from the Taj.
PROS: Non-smoking casino section, express elevators
CONS: Dirty machines, location
Showboat is a bright and cheery casino. It has a Mardi Gras theme throughout, complete with musicians and beaded necklaces. I've always found the staff to be helpful. Usually there is a long line to check into the hotel, so I do think adding some extra staff in that respect would be really useful. The casino itself is clean, but there is no nonsmoking section unlike all the other casinos I have been in. I think this is a pretty big drawback and don't know why they can't add a nonsmoking section. They have a few restaurants and the absolute best buffet in the entire city. The buffet has salads, fruits, Italian food, seafood, Chinese food, etc... Be warned that the line to get in can be very long, so plan accordingly. Also, it could get pretty expensive if you don't have a coupon or comp. The hotel is nice, and I have always gotten a clean room. There isn't too many stores around on the boardwalk, as Showboat is at the very end. The Steel Pier is nearby and there is a walkway to the Taj Mahal casino next-door.
PROS: Fun theme, clean, best buffet
CONS: location, all smoking
I found out Supercuts charges the same amount as where I usually get my hair cut ,so I gave it a shot and was really pleased. They were really friendly and I didn't have to wait long to be seen. They don't do appointments, just walk-ins. There are tons of chairs, so always a place to sit until you're seen or for anyone that comes with you to sit in while they wait for you. It was very clean inside and the stylist managed to do my hair better than anyone before. I believe they also put coupons out on the Internet or sometimes in the Sunday newspaper. I will definitely go back.
PROS: Clean, lot's of chairs, no appointment necessary
There used to be 3 separate amusement piers in Wildwood, but Morey's has purchased the other 2 piers and so they are all now known as Morey's. There are 2 waterparks, on 2 different piers and a lot of different amusement park rides for children and adults. They have several different admission plans, with special offers for families of 4. A ride and waterpark combination ticket for a family of four would be around $161 for a weekday and $169 for a weekend. You can also opt to just purchase individual tickets for each ride, but if you plan to ride a lot, the whole day pass would be your best bet. They just added a new roller coaster and are always updating and expanding. I think the piers are a lot of fun, but I prefer not to go there because of the crowd. Wildwood, for whatever reason seems to attract a lot of older teens and young adults who seem to want to spend their vacation drinking and causing trouble. But if you don't think you'll mind the crowd, go and have fun!
PROS: fun rides and waterpark
CONS: Not so great crowd
Petsmart is a fun store to visit if you love animals. You can also bring your pets with you if you want, and you will often see some dogs walking around. They have birds, mice, rats, hamsters, guinea pigs, and lot's of fish for sale. They also have an area with cats up for adoption which is my favorite since I love cats. Where the cats are they also have a little container where you can drop off some pet coupons you don't need and can also take out a few you might need. More than once I have found some really good coupons. Of course they have every toy, food, and accessory your pet could ever need. The staff is helpful and friendly and despite all the animals walking around the store stays pretty clean. They also have vet and grooming services and also do a dog training class inside a fenced in area in the middle of the store.
PROS: Large selection, nice staff
This is one of my favorite dollar stores. It is very clean inside and they have a very large selection. They have just about anything and everything you could possibly need. I do think the store is a bit on the dark side and could use some better lighting, but that is my only criticism. The staff is also very nice and they are very willing to help you, which seems to be a rare find these days. During more than one occasion I needed some help finding what I was looking for and the staff went out onto the floor with me to help me look. They are located in the same shopping center as Walmart.
PROS: Clean, large selection, great staff
CONS: A bit dark
I like Clemens a lot. Their circulars are good for 2 weeks instead of 1 week which gives you more time to find the coupons you need for the sale. They will double coupons and if you have a $ coupon, they will double it to $1.10 whereas some other stores will only double it to $1.00. Quite often they have an unlimited triple coupon special during the second weekend of the sale and you can get some things very cheap or even free. They often have a few carts of clearance merchandise in the last isle of the store and sometimes there are good deals there. They have a large selection of baked goods and sometimes have a tray of samples out during the weekend. I've always had good experiences with the employees. The only problem I ever had is that during a storm the lights always seem to go out for a few seconds which can be a bit frightening.
PROS: Nice staff, good deals, triple coupons often
Yes, they have coats, and lots of them. But they also have a ton of other stuff. They have all types of clothing for men, women, children, and babies. They also have jewelry, accessories, linens, and all sorts of things for inside your house, and outside your house as well. I think they are pretty reasonable with their prices and often they have a lot of items on clearance. They carry some brand name clothing at a much lower price than other stores. The children's section seems to be pretty crowded and the clothing is on 2 racks, one on top of the other. This seems silly since kids won't be able to reach the top rack and even some adults can hurt their arms reaching up to look at the clothing. That's my only gripe. I like the store very much.
PROS: Lots of things, good prices
Dutch Wonderland is an amusement park located around the Amish community in Lancaster. Admission is almost $30 for adults and almost $24 for kids. Kids under 2 get in free. This is not the place for teens or adults. There are no big thrill rides and pretty much everything is made for small children. I would say children under the age of 10 would have a wonderful time here. For older children, I would advise going to Dorney Park in Allentown. They have a small waterpark area in Dutch Wonderland for children and have changing rooms and lockers. They also have a few overpriced places to eat, but if you can wait until later, there is an inexpensive restaurant right across the street from the park. Parking is free which is a big plus. You're children will have a wonderful time here!
PROS: Lots of rides and attractions
CONS: It caters to small children
