We are currently working on our back yard landscaping. We went to this place for fill dirt, topsoil, flowers and trees. This place is humongous, compared to your home depot garden center. Prices are quite okay, unexpectedly from a non-chain business. The only con is finding the help may take some time. Once you find them, they help you all the way.
PROS: selection, reasonable prices, knowledgable staff
CONS: finding help takes long
I have eaten at this place once and I think there won't be a second. Their daily lunch specials run around $10 and they were not much to write home about. I chose to have a sandwhich and it came on a very hard and almost stale bread. I really did not like this place for my lunches.
PROS: Convenient location
CONS: expensive for lunch, food quality is low
Last weekend we had a chance to visit this establishment because of a coupon they send out in a local flyer book. What a nice place and good food. I ordered beer battered fish and my wife chose ribs. We were both extremely happy with our meals. They had a to-die-for vegetable beef soup included in the price of the main course. Even though it was a bit on the salty side, we both enjoyed the soup. The garden salad leaves a bit to be desired but it was okay, at least cold and crisp. This restaurant deserves frequent visits even if they do not offer coupons.
PROS: good food, attentive service
CONS: salad needs a little TLC
Usually one does not pick the title company they are going to use if one is buying a new home like we did. Our builder being right across the hallway from this company decided to use these guys for the escrow and closing. They functioned as expected, and in a timely manner. Closing was very quick and easy. My only gripe is, on the day that I was supposed to sign the closing papers, they could not find my file and made me wait about an extra hour.
CONS: impersonal, disorganized, made me stay late for closing
This is one of my favorite lunch spots as it is very close to my work. At lunch time, if it is past 11:30, it is a bit hard to find seating, especially if your group is large. But it is well worth the wait. My favorite is pastrami omlette and pastrami sandwhich on rye bread. The deli is a little bit pricey but that also is worth the extra $$. If you live on the west side, this is a must visit type deli.
PROS: food is high quality, pastrami is world class 24 hours open
CONS: sometimes slow service, hard to find seating for lunch
Don't blink or you may miss it on the corner of Archibald and Foothill Blvd. Or you may discount it because it is not a chain deli, but don't. It is a great old fashioned deli. The sandwiches are large and the price is cheap. We ate there for under $10 and we both ordered sandwiches. The meatball sandwich is great and covered in cheese and sauce. The bread was fresh and they make it just the way you like it.
PROS: Great tasting deli , reasonably priced & super nice staff!
This is the company that installed the a/c unit in our new house. This is also the company that did not install the unit properly, so when the heat wave hit and we had to turn on the a/c, it didn't work. The outside unit just hummed, but the motor was not working. They were called on a Thursday and they did not come out for service until the following Monday despite the fact that they were told that we have an elderly person living with us and the temp was over 100 on all those days. They said that they did not want to overwork their technicians. Well, if you had installed it properly to begin with, you wouldn't have to come back. Anyhow, the repair took all of 5 minutes. The outside plug was not turned around. Why could they not have asked me to check that on the phone? I would not recommend them.
CONS: Slow service,
My wife went here for a manicure. She was able to walk in without an appt. and get a manicure that was reasonably priced. The facility was clean, the staff was nice and the instruments had been sterilized in between customers. They are tucked away in a little corner, so it could be hard to miss. :)
PROS: Reasonably priced, well-trained staff.
Rancho Pets is also known as Rancho Feed. They are tucked away in a little corner of a shopping center and they only carry organic and holistic pet foods. You will not find Pedigree or other commerical dog foods here. Some of the product lines they carry in the store are Inova, Wellness, Chicken Soup, Merrick, Canidae and many, many others. The staff was knowledgable and very helpful in finding things. The prices were reasonable. If you are looking to upgrade your pets food or if you are new to the area and feed your pet organic/holistic food, definately check this place out. I found it because they carry Wellness.
PROS: Great variety of food, nice and knowledgeable staff
CONS: Can be hard to find!
We have a psycho dog that was a rescue and she is terrified of thunder, lightening, fireworks and other loud noises - most of which happen at night. We had tried a behaviorist, narcotics and a combination of the 2 without success. The dog was only getting worse. My wife decided to try a holistic vet. She settled on Dr. Modglin. Dr. Modglin is very gentle and caring. She offered a course of treatment and my wife decided to try it. It worked and we saw a noticeable improvement in the dog. Dr. Modglin was very good at following up and called several times to check to see how the dog was doing. She offers acupuncture, chiropractic, herbal medicine (both western and chinese) and homeopathy. If you are looking for alternative medicine for your pet, I would highly recommend her. She was even on time for the appt. and her rates were reasonable.
PROS: Gentle, loving staff. Reasonable prices
