This store has the advantage of being next to a Savon (now CVS) drugstore. Also there are many more businesses around. If you are in the area doing other stuff and want to grab a few items quickly, it is an "okay" place to get them. Do not expect much variety or gourmet style food. I did not care for their meat department much but their produce department has some variety that one can carefully choose from. Prices are always cheap. They send weekly flyers to my home which is only 2 miles away.
PROS: cheap, convenient
CONS: lacking service, variety, meat dept is less than stellar
A couple of weekends ago, I had the misfortune of choosing this place as our weekend date with my wife. I ordered my favorite seafood platter, fish and chips and my wife ordered crab legs and shrimp. For the prices on the menu, you expect to see a lot of food that you may not be able to finish. Alas, the number of crab legs my wife got were countable with one hand's fingers. We both asked for corn as one of our sides. The corn pieces were so small and so tasteless, it was a waste. Shrimps on my wife's platter were undercooked. My fish fries were looking like finger food rather than the fillets of fish I expect in a fish'n'chips plate.
Our server was out of touch with the world. We had to wait for everything. Not attentive at all. But this may depend on the person you get as your server and should not write off all the serving staff.
I do not think that we will be visiting this restaurant again.
CONS: expensive, food is not even a so-so.
I recently went to Maria's for the first time and probably the last time. This small family restaurant is located in a bustling shopping center in Glendora. The food was so, so. I ordered a chicken enchilada and a tamale with rice and beans. The rice and beans were great, the enchilada was cold and the tamale was hard and difficult to eat. The staff was attentive and refilled the drinks often.
PROS: Great staff!!
CONS: Not so great food!
The main reason I chose this place is, they have a very high quality endocrinologist on their staff, albeit once or twice a week I can find him there, as well as it is very close to my workplace. But in general, they are responsive to my needs and return my calls in a timely manner. Scheduling and rescheduling appointments are very easy.
PROS: good doctors
CONS: hard to find, building looks run-down
I have taken my Jeep to WM Auto Service few times with different problems. They are easy to work with, know what they are doing, honest and most importantly, reasonably priced. It is an added advantage that they are very conveniently located on Culver Blvd. right off the 90 Fwy.
PROS: knowledgable, fair, reasonable prices, honest
