Olentangy Indian Caverns
Many students from my school have gone to the Olentangy Indian Caverns and have really enjoyed themselves. Some of my favorite things about it:
It is reasonably priced
They have knowledgeable people there to help you
It is a part of Ohio history.
This is a great place to take your kids to or for a fun family experience close to hom.
Wyandot Lake Amusement & Water Park
I used to go to Wyandot Lake as a child and LOVED it so much. Now, as an adult, I see it is a little run down, but it is still a fun palce to go as a fmail. They are primarily a water ride park, although they have a few amusement park rides. They were recently taken over by Six Flags so I am hoping they will get a much needed update!
The Dublin Cake Cottage
I had the chance to meet Ann Zannon who is the owner of this company, in a totally unrelated way, but have since foud this gem of a place. She works entirely out of her home, and makes a very nice cake for a very affordable price. She is very much loved by local brides, and is a reliable, kind, honest vendor. Her finished product is great!
Sbx
I sold books back in college at SBX as it is called. I found them to offer the best deal on the resale of my books. I did think that their prices tended to be a little higher on textbooks, however, than other local stores. This is a good place to get all your books for your Ohio State classes---it is right in the heart of campus.
United Art & Education
I shop at both Holcombs and here for everything I need at my classroom. This store has a better variety of supplies, however, and I find them to be priced a little bit better. They also have very nice variety of art supplies and tools for your budding student artist. A nice group of employees too!
Holcomb's Know Place
This is a great little store to pick up school supplies! They offer really great teacher coupons, discounts and student incentives. They have a really great selection and they are very well organized. A must for any teacher or kid who wants really great school supplies for class!
Cosi
This museum of science is so cool because it is totally run by volunteers. I used to volunteer here when I was in high school and it was an amazing experience. It offers so much for kids and adults in the Columbus area. A great place to learn and have fun. The prices are realy reasonable too!
Franklin Park Conservatory
A friend of mine was married here in the greenhouse area and it was lovely. I know they are very popular for weddings and very pricey...they also book very quickly. It is a wonderful treasure to columbus and a great place to stroll the gardens and enjoy plants and butterflies.
String Shoppe Music Stores
My husband drug me in here once in college to buy strings for his guitar. It's not a bad little shop...kinda a campus icon. He told me that he took lessons here, however, and from what he has told me about them, it sounds like they were worthless and a waste of his money.
Colonial Music
This is the place to rent your band and strings instruments. They are helpful, offer in store music lessons, and sell QUALITY instruments. They also do very reasonable in house repairs. Their rental program is GREAT and includes all repairs. They are just a bunch of musicians and educators committed to music education.
