Phillips 66 is the nicest and biggest gas station in Lawrence. Usually their prices are a cent or two cheaper than the others around town. They also have the most pumps so you dont have to wait like you would at the others around town. You dont have to pre-pay and you can use your credit card at the pump. You may also get your dirty car washed and you can save if you purchase gas.
Carries a variety of Middle Eastern and Mediterranean foods. The products are of good quality, but the selection is limited and inventory turnover isnt that high. As a result you may have to literally wipe the dust of a variety of the high priced items. The owner is extremely rude and on occasion talks down to certain customers.
Discount food store doesnt take credit credit cards and doesnt bag groceries. Carts are twenty-five cents, but you get your quarter back when you return your cart. Groceries are limited and they dont carry name brands only generics. Produce is of poor quality and are rarely fresh. Services is not the best, but enough to get he job done.
Discount grocery store. Carries name brand products at significantly lower prices. Setting is similar to that of a wholesale club in that there are no decorations, just concrete everywhere you turn. They have an excellent inventory turnover and bring latest brands. Bakery is excellent; the bread and pastries are baked daily and are very reasonably priced.
At Dillions you receive discounts with your Dillions cards. It has a Starbucks and a Commerce Bank kiosk to ensure you get everything you need in one place. They put out some great coupons in the local campus coupon book each semester for free Starbucks coffees, movie rentals, six packs of water, 2-liter sodas, and more. The coupons vary per semester but you can always find a good deal with them.
Walgreens is a pharmacy, drugstore, and convenience store in one. The marquee that sits outside provides information on daily specials. Coupons and sale info are provided in their weekly circular in the Sunday paper. Prices for groceries are high but if you are filling a prescription it isnt a bad deal to get all your errands done in one place.
Have a wide selection of tops and bottoms that shimmer, shine, and hardly cover anything. Good for adding an occasional unique piece to your wardrobe, but I dont recommend them for rebuilding your closet. Staff is friendly, outgoing, and kind of loud. Prices are similar to that of a boutique but quality lags.
Houses many concerts throughout the year. Performances are held beyond the eyesight of the bar. Drinking is allowed but smoking is not as will all restaurants and bars in Lawrence. The limited seating, distant bathrooms, and dark setting create a somewhat frustrating environment. If they are headlining a good show its well worth it but by no means just to see some local bands play.
Good selection of DVDs, CDs, and latest advancements in technological gadgets. There is quite a bit to play with even if you dont intend to but anything. Customer service is very slow and it is often difficult to find someone to answer your questions. They offer rebates on occasion and usually print an additional rebate receipt for your convienience upon checkout.
