This is a nice little health food store. It is very clean and they carry an array of health foods and vitamins. However, they do seem to frequently be out of the very thing I am wanting to buy. They do carry the items I frequently purchase regularly. They just don't seem to stock the store adequately. However, I will be back because so far they are the cheapest for the main item I purchase.
PROS: nice, clean and fairly reasonable prices
CONS: not stocked well enough
We always buy our concrete from Dunn's. So far we haven't had any problems at all. In fact, the last driver even helped us smooth out the concrete floor we were pooring. They are so helpful I believe my husband usually gives the drivers a tip. I really recommend these people if you need to buy a truckload of cement.
PROS: Wonderful to buy cement from
If treasure hunting is your thing, Troyers Antiques is a great place to start. If you love antiques and such and haven't been to Troyers yet then you are missing out. He has several barns full of stuff. I am no expert on prices but I took a friend there years ago now and he made out like a bandit.
PROS: An amazing amount of merchandise
CONS: sometimes a little cluttered
The last time I visited this bookstore was several years ago. The books he had at that time were mostly for collectors. Collectors of what you might ask. The answer is just about anything. Anything from antiques to John Deere tractors are covered. Believe me they had tons of books when I last visited. I had purchased used books there before but I think Mr. Sheakley discontinued selling those. Anyhow you are sure to find a book there that catches you fancy. I know I did.
PROS: Lots of great books
CONS: none really
This store isn't on my way anywhere but is only slightly off the beaten path. I guess I don't go there often because out of sight is out of mind. I rarely see advertising for this store either. However, this is a very nice pet supply store with lots and lots of supplies. If you are looking for something you can't find elsewhere, be sure and stop at Pets N More. They have lots of specialty pet food as well as your normal varieties. They have some pets but usually not many. We usually do see parrots there. I believe they also have fish. If you are a pet affecionado, you should definitely stop. The prices seem a little higher than say Wal-mart but the selection is way better.
PROS: Huge selection of pet supplies when I was last there
CONS: a little higher prices on somethings
The Crawford County Humane Society is definitely an asset to our community. I have visited many times and did adopt a dog from them previously. The animals always seem well taken care of. The cages have been clean every time I have visited. It is sad to see so many nice animals without homes. If you want just a particular type of animal or a certain breed of dog, they will put you on a list in case one comes in.
PROS: a really good cause
CONS: some animals won't find homes
This store is satisfactory if they still happen to carry what you need. They carry lots of pet and livestock feed as well as supplies to care for the animals. They also often have gardening supplies in the spring. They used to be my very favorite place to buy seeds and all my spring gardening needs. This year about half the time I ran there they no longer carried or was out of what I was used to buying there. So you might want to call first to see if they have what you need. Please make that call though because I am hopeful things will turn around and they will once again be a terrific place to shop.
PROS: reasonable prices
CONS: might not have what you planned on buying
I purchased an embroidery machine online which was a HUGE mistake. I stopped into this store to see about buying needles. Despite the fact I had not purchased from them, they were very helpful. The store is full of nice fabric, notions, displays of things you could sew and of course many, many machines both sewing and embroidery. They also also often have classes.
PROS: friendly staff, lots of merchandise, service
CONS: more expensive than you can buy elsewhere
We have a John Deere lawn tractor and a John Deere compact tractor plus misc. attachments. My husband is also a huge John Deere nerchandise fan. So fortunately for us this business is only 3 or 4 miles from our house. Sometimes they don't have what we need on hand but they are very good about ordering for us. We rarely have a need to go anywhere else for our John Deere parts.
PROS: Friendly business for John Deere enthusiasts
CONS: might not have what you need on hand
We just got our car worked on and inspected there. We like them BUT....don't go there if you are in a hurry to get your vehicle back. They are really hard to get on the phone. They never called to tell us when our car was done so finally we just swung by to see for ourselves. They seem to have fair prices and we have no other complaint.
PROS: Decent prices
CONS: hard to contact
