Great food, good wine list, nice atmosphere. Rick's makes a great addition to the McKinney square. The service was exceptional and and it's great to have a nice, upscale steakhouse in the area for "date night." I highly recommend ANY of the desserts. I went with a group and we each ordered something different so we were able to sample them. They were all exceptional!
I have gone to Dr. Reber for a couple of years now. She and her staff are consistent and efficient. I always haved a pleasant experience -- even when I'm having my teeth drilled on -- when I have an appointment. I can almost always get an appt when I need one, and I haven't had to wait long when I get there before my appt.
I love Scotty P's burgers. Personal favs are the Preston Trail burger and the Interurban...one is a chili burger and one is a bbq burger. YUM! It's a nice atmosphere. Pretty good amount of room to move around. Seems to be a great place for kids. Fries are pretty good, onion rings are great, shakes are REALLY good. We often get take out, and they are very organized and fast about it when we pick up.
I love Pei Wei and was excited to have one arrive in McKinney. I love most of their dishes, and I try to vary it each time. I've never had anything bad. My favs include kung pao beef (or shrimp), spicy Korean chicken, Pei Wei pad thai. I love it all! They often have a wait, and the small size of the place makes it tough to deal with. And, it's always been annoying to me that the tables are SO close together. It's tough to get around (especially with kids). But if you do take out, it's much easier.
I have always loved Cafe Brazil and was so glad when they brought one to McKinney. Their food is good all-around, but their breakfast is my favorite. You can't beat the HUGE pancakes, delicious french toast or my fav -- the breakfast turkey tacos. YUM! The service is just so-so, but it's just part of their "thing," I guess. My experience has been similar at all of the locations in town. There is often a wait if you don't get there before about 8 or 8:30am on Sat/Sun, but it's worth the wait. They also have a patio, which is great when the weather is nice.
We chose AAC based on the recommendation of a friend. We also attended the open house to meet the staff, and we liked all of them. Overall, we??ve been very pleased with them. They offer same-day sick visits and have always seen us when necessary. Also, the after-hours nurse line is wonderful. The nurse on this line after hours is great, very helpful and very understanding. We have seen every doctor, PA, NP, etc., here, and we like everyone.
We tried this on the recommendation of a friend and will definitely be going back. All of the food was great. The BBQ was really moist and tender. The sides were great (I had potato salad and okra). The fried okra was some of the best I've had in a long time. It's an older establishment, but now I know why it's still there! It's located in sort of a hidden spot, but once you find it, you'll want to try it again. Prices are about in line with other bbq places, but they do have a great family pack deal. Try it out!
I originally went to these cleaners because they were in a convenient location. Turns out, they are the most helpful and reliable cleaners I've ever dealt with. Every time we walk in, they address us by name. They are always so polite and always remember talking to us on each visit. I've gotten several items tailored and repaired there and they do a great job with that, too. The cleaning is turned around in no time, which helps with our busy schedules. Plus, they are open until 7, which makes it much easier to come by after work to drop off or pick up clothes.
We purchased our last Cingular phones here. Overall, the service is pretty good. This store was generally helpful in helping us choose the right phone and getting our account set up. They were able to just transplant our SIM cards, which made things a lot easier. They suggested it, and we would have never thought about it. So, that helped us out a lot.
Yankee Candle isn't the cheapest place for candles, but it's certainly the best. They have a great selection of basic votives, but they also have a ton of neat accessories and different types of candles and potpourri. My favorite scent of theirs is the Clean Cotton. I love those little plug-in air freshers and I keep them all over the house. Luckily, they often email me coupons, so I almost always take advantage.
PROS: Great selection, long-lasting and fragrant candles
CONS: A little on the pricey side
