Golden Pride serves chicken, ribs and some New Mexican foods. They have the very best breakfast burritos you will find. Reasonably priced and made fresh. This is not a fancy restaurant, but it makes up for atmosphere is quality and quantity. This is a not to be missed item. They have 4 locations in the area. They do catering and also sell burritos at a discount to non-profits organizations and schools for resale.
Twisters is a New Mexico owned restaurant chain. It is a combination Mexican and American food restaurant. Their specialty is a huge burrito filled with burger meat, smothered in chili and topped with french fries. This is NOT a healthy eating restaurant. Most of their foods are fried and are served with french fries. Their breakfast burritos are their best menu item, but still definitely not for the health conscious.
Dions in Rio Rancho is a New Mexico based business. They offer very good pizza in three sizes. They also offer a few 'gourmet' pizzas in a personal size. All are made fresh and the kids can watch them made. The also sell sub type sandwiches with chips, salads, fruit cups and desserts. They sell tiny single servings of a couple of flavors of Ben & Jerry's ice cream as well. Dion's does not deliver. Their salads are ok, but until recently every caesar salad I ordered had a problem - a dead bug, dirt on the romaine, part of a dead worm. They recently discontinued using romaine and the caesar is now made with iceberg. Just not the same, but better than dirt or bugs.
Rudy's is a great casual restaurant for the BBQ lover. I'm not sure why they call it "Country Store" as the only thing they sell are the t shirts the employees wear and food. The inside eating area is all long tables, so you might sit with another party. Outside on the patio there are many picnic tables. The outside area is really under a roof, with plastic on the windows and there are 2 large heaters, so most winter days you can eat outside. They sell Chicken, beef , pork and sometimes turkey. They have cole slaw, beans, and potato salad. Many items you can buy by the sandwich or the pound.
Keva Juice near Cottonwood Mall is the best Keva in the Albuquerque area, and I've been to them all! The employees are friendly and the store is always neat and clean. They sell several dozen different smoothies as well as fresh juices and Wheat Grass juice. You get 1 free supplement with each smoothie purchased and with each dozen purchases you make you get one free.
Venezias offers authentic New York style pizza all the way here in New Mexico. It is a family run business. The Rio Rancho location is a small facility with just a few tables to eat at. They sell pizzas by the slice up to a 28" party pizza. They also serve Calzones, wings, Calamari, pasta, salads and a few desserts. They deliver in a limited area and do catering. There are coupons in the phone book and they frequently put coupons in ValPak.
Pop Pops is a locally owned, family operated Italian Ice shop. It is a VERY small business, open seasonally, but is Incredibly good! They offer approximately 6 flavors of italian ice each day in great flavors from the common like grape, strawberry, lemon to the unusual like Mango and chocolate. They also have soft custard ice cream that can be mixed in or layered with the italian ice for a REALLY scrumptious treat. They have a punch card to get 1 free after 10 purchases. It is well worth the trip across town.
The new free standing Chick Fil A at Cottonwood Corners is simply the best chicken anywhere. The owner and staff are extremely nice and service is outstanding. They truly care about the customer. They serve breakfast and are open until 10 p.m. Chicken for Breakfast seemed like a strange thing, but it is really quite good. They offer numerous party trays at reasonable prices. They have an indoor play area that is kept very clean.
Satellite Coffee is an incredible coffee shop. They are a Wi-Fi hot spot and the atmosphere is wonderful. They have several very comfy couches and chairs with end tables and coffee tables near them. A beautiful fireplace and several traditional tables and chairs both inside and outside. Their coffee is excellent (and lower priced than the big chain). Their pastries are simply out of this world. They also offer breakfast and lunch burritos and usually a quiche and a soup.
This is an incredible church! Pastor Pete Nelson is a dynamic speaker following well in the footsteps of Skip Heitzig, one of the founders. This is a very large church with special services in spanish, for teens and with outstanding facilities. They also have an on site skate park, open to the public, a full service coffee shop with coffee to rival the big S chain, and a fantastic book store. Their immense staff is willing to serve any and every person in the community. Their special events are extraordinary. They are also the home of M88 Christian radio.
