The owner of this company is one of the most warm, respectable and multi-talented men I have ever met in my life. As far as car or truck transmission knowledge, (I believe he services RV's and larger trucks and such too) he would be awfully hard to out-do, and most of all he is a wonderful gentleman as far as personality, to boot! He can often diagnose from just listening and is always very fair on his prices, but of course with his reputation you'll need an appointment !!! A real gem of a business to know of especially with all the wanna-be's and not-always-honest ones in the transmission repair field.
Nicest prices for towing, they are listed in the phone book for East Chicago and Schererville with a Highland phone number number too (but no storefront there). Nobody likes paying too much for a tow job!! I myself got a real kick out of the name of the business.
Have only had a little tad instance of less-than-perfection (have been a customer several years) and I am sure they would have corrected it for me had I returned. This shop is tucked down a hall in a plaza and has no big fancy signs or anything but the work is quality - they seem to only hire caring professionals and the prices are GREAT since you're not paying for a glitz and glitter atmosphere.
--Also with offices in Highland, and south Broadway in Crown Point, then rumor has it another office is coming too.
--I love my bank because they keep GREAT HOURS (open til 5 on Saturdays at the drive-up and open early a.m.'s).
--They also CONSISTENTLY have the FASTEST drive-up service I have ever seen in my over-30 banking years in Lake county (Scher. branch)
--It seems they somehow manage to offer most every available attractive product and offer as any other larger bank!
This flower shop has the nicest, helpful and creative ladies working there but most of all they don't charge a lot and have the most beautiful roses - they seem to be a bit larger than anywhere else. After being in business for so very many years, and being a family operation, I am a loyal customer even though I have moved, and highly recommend their service to anyone. Easy to find - just a couple minutes east of the square on North St. ( which goes east and west, it is a stoplight north of the square)
I took a fond liking to this gentleman, from the moment I met him, he was not in a hurry as so many doctors are during your visit. He did not mind to explain something, etc.
But the best part is, after becoming dismayed with another (widely renowned) plastic surgeon in the area, whom I had taken my daughter to THREE times for THREE recurring (painful)removals of a skin growth, Dr. Senasu removed it ONCE - it had so very little of a tell-tale skin mark, not even visible any more after these several years and it has never returned.
Immaculate room - I chose the climate controlled room, which I was very pleased with, for the little extra money. My parents had also used this business's storage facility when they moved from out-of-state and were very pleased also. It is located right off of Route 30 and they almost always have something available for whatever your choice is, because they are very large. I won't say what the owner used to do for a living, but I wouldn't worry too much about the security here, either.
This man gave me the best price in the county to rent a regular siza van to take out of state & back when I moved....although he also has heavier duty vehicles for rent too. I do believe he would negotiate if he was ever off-market with a price too, but I doubt if he ever is! The service was speedy for a rental & not so complicated either. Of course just like anywhere else, you want to be sure they note any damage on the vehicle you get, before you pull away, in case they are not aware of something.
I entered Value City Furniture Store in Merrillville/Hobart, Indiana (Route 30) with enough cash on me to purchase a queen size bed of brand-name quality. While questioning a young salesman, it became obvious to me he had gotten perturbed with being asked anything by people regarding price, etc. Basically within a few minutes of conversation, he was pretty much asking me to leave the store, with absolutely no justification at all. He simply stated since he was sure I would not be buying a bed today, then why dont I return when I would, etc. I made sure to hang around a while longer, then proceeded down the street to another store and bought my bed. Needless to say, the next couple times I purchased furniture, I had no instinct to return to that store.
May I elaborate on the service at my local Strack & Van Til supermarket in Schererville, Indiana. Employees there have been taught the old-fashioned way - they ALL truly are NEVER opposed to going out of their way to help you. They honestly NEVER once have seemed anything less than happy to check in back-room stock for an item that is on sale but has an empty shelf. Something good radiates down from management at this store.
