Roger's Gardens is THE place to get gardening inspiration with its gorgeous displays of plants, flowers, outdoor furniture & accessories, gifts, books, and holiday merchandise. The staff is incredible too -- knowledgeable, experienced, informative, well-trained and willing to go the extra mile to provide excellent customer service. I even take out-of-state visitors to Roger's as a tourist attraction -- it NEVER disappoints.
PROS: Inspirational, out-of-the-ordinary merchandise, knowledgeable staff
CONS: can be expensive
Glen Ivy Hot Springs Spa is the perfect place to rejuvenate both body and soul for a mere $35-$48 for an entire day of bliss. Admission includes use of mud bath, and all pools, jacuzzis, Roman mineral and salt tubs, steam rooms, sauna, showers, towels, and lockers. Also cafe, boutique, massage and salon services are available at extra charge and by appointment. But my favorite thing about this heavenly place is that NO ONE seems to be into the whole "beautiful people strutting their stuff" scene. It is a haven for seniors and the ordinary folk wishing to relax and unwind without feeling self-conscious in an XL bathing suit. Be forewarned that the red mud clay may stain some fabrics.
PROS: Unpretentious, reasonably-priced, divine setting & services, no kids
CONS: Nearest hotel is 12-13 miles away
I have gone to Dr Kelly for 40 years (being one of those kids who LOVED candy and paid dearly for it) -- except for when I lived too far away to be practical, and then I regretted it immediately afterward. Every other dentist has consistently commented on what FINE dental work has been done in my mouth. Dr Kelly is also the most GENTLE person you could ever hope to encounter. Having him perform everything from fillings to crowns, I have felt it all happened somehow by "MAGIC" because I never once had the sensation of pain or heavy-handedness. The staff which has been with him forever, is equally proficient and kind.
PROS: Gentle, experienced, exceptional artistry
Came home to find my beloved Lab unwilling to eat her dinner (for anyone who has a Lab, you know this is not a good sign), and at the same time realized she had been losing weight a little too fast and drinking alot of water lately. So, dashed her to the nearest vet thinking they will only be open another 15 minutes (5:45pm). Dr. Gary Johnson agreed to see her AND another Lab who had just walked in without an appointment -- and was totally thorough and never made me feel rushed in the least. Turned out my sweet girl is diabetic and had already developed ketoacidosis (potentially fatal) and a secondary case of hepatitis. After careful treatment and monitoring for several consecutive days, my Labby is happy and back to acting like a pup. I feel SO LUCKY and BLESSED to have found this vet -- and practically in my backyard! All of the staff have also been great in assisting me with everything from insulin injections and new diet to applying for financial help through CareCredit.
PROS: Caring, professional, thorough, experienced
CONS: None so far
