Barnes & Noble Booksellers

Littleton, CO Book Stores 05/03/05: 'Typical clean chain'

The help here left something to be desired. One salesperson went to get something and never came back, which wasn't appreciated. That said, it's a typical B&N with pricing that can't be beat.

PROS: Low pricing on popular books
CONS: Awful, cramped parking lot

5 Star Rating - World class

Tattered Cover Book Store

Denver, CO Book Stores 05/03/05: 'HUGE selection and great coffee!'

This bookstore has a fabulous, one-owner-shop feel to it without sacrificing great selection. Their help is actually helpful and they make an awesome ginger-pumpkin latte. Never go to the chains stores if there's one of these around.

PROS: Selection, good food and beverages, friendly staff
CONS: Not enough of them!

Colorado Free University

I took a pottery class that was fabulous. It's relatively cheap to start and then they leave you alone to practice and make great stuff. I had a good time and made some fun things.

PROS: Cheap, huge variety of classes available
CONS:

24 Hour Fitness

Arvada, CO Health Clubs & Gyms 05/03/05: 'Facility needs updating'

When I visited this gym, they were obviously in need of some updating on their equipment. While the wait was non-existent (read: GREAT!), I wasn't expecting the run-down machinery as the rest of the 24-Hour Fitness stores I've visited have been very well-maintained.

PROS: No wait
CONS: Old equipment

Forever 21

Denver, CO Apparel - Misc - Denver, CO Clothing & Accessories - Women's 05/03/05: 'Awful return policy on cheap clothing'

This shop caters to teens with limited budgets, offering trendy styles at low cost. Unfortunately, their return policies dictate that you essentially are just "trading" in your bad gear for something else in the store. I realize that the clothing is provided at a low cost in a market that changes dramatically daily and factor in a teenage mood, you're looking at a TON of returns. Still, I would never shop there again due to the low quality of the clothing and the fact even if your item completely falls apart, you're not getting any money back.

PROS: Cheap, cheap, cheap clothes
CONS: Cheap clothes with no way to return defective merchanse
