Tuesday Morning
This store is so much fun! I was there this weekend, and I found some awesome things for Christmas. Unfortunately they were things that I wanted! I did get some gourmet chocolates, a set of travel bags (cosmetic bag, shave kit, etc..) and a kitchen steel (for sharpening knives). Not only were the prices reasonable, but these were also items that I normally can only get at the mall.
PROS: This store is better every time I go!
CONS: There is not one closer to my house!
The Crab House Seafood Restaurant
I work close to I-Drive, so it is not uncommon for me to grab lunch someplace there. I always find myself back at the Crab House ordering the same lunch entree! When you go, you must try their crab cakes! I have tried crab cakes everywhere, and no one makes them as good as the Crab House. I have tried other items on their menu (for dinner) and everything has been wondeful. The seafood is fresh, and quality cannot be beat. If you are looking for seafood, then the Crab House is where you need to go. Try the crab cake as an appetizer, and then try some fish or shell fish for an entree. Luckily they offer many combo platters for those like me that want everything and cannot decide!
PROS: The best crab cake ever, and everything else is yummy too!
CONS: They do not deliver!
Omaha Steakhouse
This outstanding restaurant is tucked inside a local hotel near the Altamonte Mall. For the quality of steaks we had, the prices were reasonable, and the quality was outstanding! Omaha Steak House even has some great appetizers and desserts that you really need to try too! This has become one of our regular favorites. Everything is so good here, that last time I went, I had 2 bowls of the Lobster Bisque INSTEAD of getting a Ribeye! The staff is attentive without being overbearing, and very accommodating to any requests. If you asked me for a steak restaurant, this is definitely the place I would send you to. It is more expensive than some of those larger chain "steakhouses" but I would rather spend more, get a much better meal and go less often than to sacrifice quality!
PROS: Food is outstanding, everything is wonderful!
CONS: Not close enough to my house; trying to decide what to have!
Modern Nail
I needed to get a full set of nails done, and my regular nail tech moved, so I thought I would try another salon. I tried this one, walked in and I was told $17 for a full set (regular, not pink & white). I was seen almost immediately, and the tech was nice, but not chatty or personable at all. She did my nails fairly quickly. Because I initially wanted pink/white set but since my nails were so short, she recommended going with regular and having french manicure for that look. She neglected to advise me that to give me the french manicure was an extra charge of $5. Once she was done initially they looked nice, however once I got home and took a closer look, I realized that there were lots of rough endges on the sides. This could easily snag on something, and she left clumps of acrylic under the tips, and of course I can't remove that. She could have easily checked and/or fixed this with the drill and it would have taken less than a minute to do. I gently filed the sides of each nail at home to remove the rough edges myself. needless to say, I still need to find a new salon, as I won't be returning to this nail salon.
PROS: Cheap And fast!
CONS: Shoddy workmanship, didn't advise me about extra $5, rough edges, & clumps
Dollar Tree
I had a blast in this store! Initially when most dollar stores opened the merchandise was garbage or off brand, basically stuff that was barely worth a buck! But, I was so impressed with Dollar Tree. We went on a Sunday, and there were 2 employees we saw, a man on the floor cleaning up and assisting customers and a woman at the register. Both of them were great, very helpful, and professional, and enjoying their jobs. As we walked around the store, I found many items I wanted, worth well over a dollar. Not only that, there were many brand names I was familiar with, so I felt more comfortable with those purchases than I would with off brands. I enjoyed being there and plan to start going on a regular basis!
PROS: Large selection of all types of products; $1 for everything!
CONS: Not around the corner from my place; some items are basically "garbage"
Sam Seltzer's Steakhouse
I am picky about my food, and I shouldn't have to pay a fortune for a great steak. At Sam Seltzer's you don't have to! I found this place by accident driving around near the Altamonte Mall. The food was wonderful, they serve a 14 oz Rib Eye steak, which is cooked to perfection for less than $20! The yeast rolls they serve before dinner, and made right in the lobby area fresh daily! Here in Orlando, a steak this size normally comes with a hefty price tag attached. I was also impressed with the service. Finally there is a place a "regular" person can have a top quality meal with the high price tag associated with a great meal. Definately one of my new regular places to go for dinner!
PROS: Awesome Steaks!
CONS: In Altamonte near the mall
Linens 'N Things
I needed a new comforter, and had heard about Linens N Things, but had never been. The ad looked nice, plus there was even a coupon, it6 was worth checking out! I arrived at L n T, and was greeted upon my arrival in a friendly manner. I started walking around the store, and immediately began wanting more than what I came for! I found the item from the ad I was looking for, but still had to find the correct size. i was approached by a staff member that immediatly offered her assistance. She inquired which color and size I needed. She then looked, and then offered to check the back for additional inventory. She returned from the back stating that my 1st choice was not available. She immediately helped me locate my 2nd choice in color and the correct size for my comforter. She was extremely helpful, and made my first experience worth remembering. I promptly went to pay for my purchase, and with my coupon, I ended up paying 1/2 price for a microsuede down king size comforter. I will definately be returning to L n T for additional shopping trips!
PROS: Well organized store, trained & willing staff!
CONS: Easy to spend a lot of money here.
Best Buy
we have gone to many different stores for electronics and home entertainment, but no one can hold a candle to Best Buy. The prices at Best Buy are competitive, and there are a ton of rebates available for the items we want and need. Even items that are NOT a high ticket price. They are always well-stocked, and if there shelf is empty, they carry additional inventory in the back. When called upon, their staff is readily available and ready to help. They are happy to assist and well-informed. They even had a coupon for a FREE reward zone card so we saved $10 on top of everything else. Best Buy is our favorite place for electronics!
PROS: look for
CONS: Too much store space for Computer/X Box etc.. games!
