In my opinion, this is the best used book store in the area. Great selection and variety, excellent and friendly service, as well as cheap prices. Some books are very very old (like from the 20s and are antiques) while others are recent and popular books. You will definately leave here with a great deal of books.
I do like Twice Told Tales a bit better but Long Lost Friends is good too. Great variety of books, from very old to recent. Every genre you can think of, including childrens books. It's a small place but it holds many many books with everything labeled well and easy to find. If you are the type of person who can lose yourself in a bookstore then this is a good place for you and you can spend hours here.
I have always liked half price books better than places like Barnes & Noble.. Its not REALLY half-price but its usually cheaper. They also will buy some books from you but they really rip you off so its not really worth it. But they have a GREAT selection of magazines (new and old issues), lots of old and new books as well as things like cds, dvds, calendars, stationary, and I believe even toys. When you need a book for High School or College they have those in a special section.
This middle school (grades 6-8) is a bit old and crowded but it is award winning and in the very excellent Cy-Fair school district. I am not sure how the situation is now but when I attended it was very crowded. That said the education was excellent and there was many activities that you usually don't find in Middle Schools (choir, sports, clubs, etc.). They really prepare their students for high school and for real life. Overall a good place for an education..
Although I recently stopped going to church, this was an awesome place to go. The youth programs are AMAZING, probably the best in all of Houston. They have great leaders and teachers, good programs, partys, lock-ins, outings, trips, and several times a year offer opportunitys to go to camps as far away as Colorado or Florida. The whole church is huge with probably thousands of people attending the 2 services
and the whole church receives excellent funding. The services are great, the choir huge, and the building where
the services are held is 3 stories tall with beautiful stained glass and lighting. It holds probably 1,000 people.
They are well-known for their Christmas plays which draw thousands of people every year. Give it a try and see if it has the right tone for you and your family.
When I was growing up, we had a cocker spaniel and took her here since she was a puppy.
Cocker spaniels usually have alot of problems with dry skin and especially with their ears.
Every time we had a problem this vet was able to help us and they were always very friendly.
I was usually allowed in the room with my father while the vet was looking at my dog.
I was still young, maybe 9 or 10 and being able to see how they worked with the dogs
was exciting. They were very friendly to me and answered all my questions. When my dog
was sick, when she had cancer, any time something was wrong they were able to help us and
never let us down. Very clean place, run more efficiently than any other vet I've seen. I
I volunteered at one place once that was extremely filthy and disorganized but this place was
always run smoothly and sparkling clean.. I definately would reccomend this place for your pets.
I went here until my Senior year and even though its a good school many people hate it
and I ended up finishing early just to get out of here and get to college. They have lots
of sports teams, clubs, and activities but there are many people that end up getting left
out since the school is so huge and sometimes feels very lonely and impersonal.
It's hard to explain but it just doesn't have a real high school vibe, felt more like a juvi
or an office building. Some teachers are great and others are only allowed to keep
teaching because they have seniority. Often the best teachers are teaching the gifted
classes where no student even needs help. The worst teachers are stuck teaching the
lower level classes where students just fail and no one cares. I knew people that failed
with grades as low as TEN and the teacher would never care and try to teach them..
So if your child needs extra academic or social help then they shouldn't go here,
but if your child is an a-plus student and a cheerleader then they will be fine here.
Although it has very high test scores and always has alot of very amazing talented kids, there are
also many kids slip through the cracks because the attention is on the gifted classes and students.
Copperfield Automotive has been fixing my familys cars for years. They always fix it on time and don't overcharge. They are friendly and even though they get alot of business they remember you by name and remember your car and its unique problems.
PROS: Good location, fast repair, dependable, friendly
I have gotten several things fixed here including a chain and when they gave it back to me they had also cleaned it but for no charge.. It was pretty cheap and I came back and picked it up I think the same day. They fix/clean all kinds of things.
I have been here a few times mostly for Christmas gifts and also got some stockings for my little brother and sister.. They have really good stuff around Christmas time.. (and all year round) I got the Xbox bundle here and several games.
Good prices, good selection
