Definitely a children's clothing BOUTIQUE: full of cute and over-priced children's clothing. The clothes were adorable. Clothing quality was superb. It was way out of my price range. I have only been to this store once. I do not see myself returning; mainly because of the prices. The staff was friendly but reserved; almost as if they knew I wasn't the type of customer who'd drop tons of money in their store.
PROS: quality of clothes
CONS: prices are too too high
Ganache is the best place in Greensboro for desserts. They have a scrumptious assortment of desserts. When you walk in and see their dessert area, you will think you have died and gone to dessert heaven! My favorite thing about Ganache: the assortment of NON-chocolate desserts. I am not a big fan of chocolate desserts. I absolutely love going to Ganache's because I never have a problem finding a non-chocolate dessert. My problem there is deciding WHICH dessert to have. Prices are high - but then it is a 5 star bakery/restaurant so one expects higher prices in this type of establishment. The food (dessert and meals) is delicious! Definitely worth the price! Definitely a great date night restaurant for a meal. My husband surprised me with a carrot cake from Ganache on Valentine's Day. It was divine! He had it specially ordered in order to accomodate my love of carrot cake sans nuts. Service is wonderfully provided by a friendly staff.

I have been very happy with my dealings with Greensboro Florist. They quality and beauty of their flowers is amazing. Their shop is well organized and absolutely peaceful to walk through. The floral arrangements, freshness of the flowers and potted plants, and the friendliness of the staff is simply wonderful. They also carry artificial flowers if you are in the market for that. The staff is very helpful and willing to assist you in picking out the perfect flowers. You can also place orders over the phone - very convenient for me. Prices are par for the area.
PROS: quality and beauty of their flowers/plants
This is our favorite pizza place in town -- and we are picking pizza people! Not just any pizza will do after growing up on true NY pizza living in NJ. My family loves the food at Elizabeth's Pizza. From their pizza to their chicken parm subs (a family favorite!) to their pasta dishes, I have yet to eat anything that was not delicious! Once a month we have pizza & movie night and would not think of going anywhere else for our pizza. Whether we dine in or take out, the food quality and taste is always superb. Service is wonderful. The staff is always pleasant and friendly. The restaurant is very clean. Parking isn't the greatest during the lunch or early dinner hour. After 7pm, parking is better as you can park in the dry cleaners behind Elizabeth's.
PROS: prices, food quality and taste, staff, service
We have bought two new mattresses in the past year. Both purchased at the Mattress Firm. The store is well organized, making it easy to view styles and selection offered. They also allow you to test each bed by laying on it. My 4 year old thought this was fun. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable about their stock. They were very patient in allowing us to sit/lay on a handful of mattressed before deciding on one. Prices were par for new mattresses. They offer delivery -- but we opted to throw it on our roof and take it home that day. They helped tie down the mattress and box spring. All in all, a pleasant shopping experience. We will definitely return to Mattress Firm first when we are in the market for a mattress.
Southern Foods is a local food supplier to local business and homes. The selection and quality of meat that they offer is superb! We have always been pleased with the meat we have purchased from Southern Foods. They also offer canned foods, frozen vegetables, and desserts; however, we use them for meat only. The non-meat items are things you can buy in any local grocery store for a fraction of the price. I am not saying their meat prices are cheaper than the grocery store -- for they are not. It is just the quality of meat is superbly better than most of the local grocery stores. We don't mind paying a bit more for our meat when the quality is wonderful. Service is excellent! You can either pick up your order or they will deliver it (and put it in your freezer). If you choose to have your food delivered, turn around time from placing order to delivery is quick. I recommend this company if you don't mind paying a bit more for your meats. Every interaction I have had with them has been pleasant. They are customer service oriented 100%: if you don't like the meat you ordered, tell them and they will replace it.
PROS: customer service; quality of meat; selection of meat; delivery time
Lucky 32's is one of my favorite restaurants in Greensboro. It is locally owned. To be honest, I probably lived in Greensboro for a few years before going to Lucky 32's. From the outside (and the inside decor), it appeared to be an "out-of-my-price-range" restaurant. My husband and I saved our pennies and decided to splurge one Valentine's Day. Only to find out that the $150 we had to blow on dinner was too much money! We ordered an appetizer, drinks, dinners, AND dessert. We had enough money for the bill AND the tip AND to go to the movies. We didn't know that the prices were reasonable. I would say you can find entrees that are comparable in price to Applebee's -- but will taste so much better than Applebee's food. Their menu is never 100% the same. About 1/2 of their menu stays the same all year long. Every 2-3 months, the other 1/2 of the menu changes. The changing part of the menu revolves around themes throughout the year. The last theme of the year is usually "This year's favorite dishes" -- that is when they bring back the best of the best from the past year's menu. My favorite dish ever -- and unfortunately it is on their themed menu (usually in the fall) so not available all year long -- is their pumpkin ravioli. If you ever see it on the menu, order it. Talk about DIVINE food! My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Wonderfully clean restaurant. Friendly staff. Looks like a 5 star restaurant both inside and out -- but you'd be AOK dining there in casual work attire.
PROS: food food food: quality, taste, variety, price
What a charming gift store! Smoky Mountain Farms Jelly House offers a wide variety of delicious jams, jellies, syrups, and spreadable butters (think apple butter). They have a sampling area so you can have a small taste before choosing just the right flavor to take home with you. Their pumpkin butter is scrumptious! My 4 year old couldn't get enough of it. Prices were reasonable. Selection was amazing!! Staff was super friendly and very helpful. No problems with parking. I will definitely be visiting this store again the next time I am in Gatlinburg.
PROS: selection, flavors, quality
What a different and unique toy store! We truly enjoyed our visit to this store. The staff was friendly. The atmosphere was fun. The Old Mill Toy Bin sells many of the toys from long ago. They offer a superb selection of wooden toys. Not everything about this store is old fashioned. They do carry a wonderful selection of high-end quality educational games and toys. Prices were par for a family owned, unique toy store (meaning: expect it to be a bit pricey). I thought it was odd that they also offered touristy trinkets/toys; but I guess that is due to their location in PigeonForge (which is quite a touristy type area).
PROS: unique selection
Although The Barn Owl has a great selection of cards and a really decent clearance section, the store is small and cluttered and not always the cleanest. If you are a collector of Hallmark items, it is definitely worth checking for items missing from your collections. Prices on regular merchandise was high. Clearance prices were a mix of reasonable and great. Staff was very friendly and a bit over-helpful.
PROS: clearance section
