Parkway Ford Inc
I highly recommend checking out Parkway Ford the next time you are in the market for a new vehicle. Customer service is superb -- the sales people give every person walking through the door their complete attention. Staff is attentive, friendly, and helpful. Their sales floor and waiting area are always clean. I have also been very pleased with their service department -- expert mechanics who do a very thorough job in a very reasonable amount of time. If they think they are going to take too long, they will offer you a rental vehicle. The service dept cashier once set up a rental vehicle for me -- even though my truck would be done that afternoon -- she saw that my toddler desperately needed a nap, set up the vehicle and told me to take care of my son and let them worry about my truck. Prices are as expected for this type business.
PROS: staff, staff, staff, service, service, service
CONS:
Hangers Dry Cleaners
Ever since Hangers changed hands, their service has improved immensely. The current owners/management are very friendly. They always greet you with a pleasant smile. Prices are to be expected -- average for the area/business. This location has a very convenient drive-thru service -- and the employees don't mind pulling your shirts out of the trunk for you. Their quality of work is excellent -- shirts are always returns cleaned, nicely pressed, and on hangers. Sweaters are carefully folded over hanger -- definitely a plus in my book b/c hanging sweaters can harm them. This business gets 2 thumbs up from me.
PROS: staff, quality of work
CONS:
Wytheville KOA Holiday
What a friendly and pleasant campground! Roomy sites -- you can either bring your camper, set up a tent, or rent a cabin. Water & electric are offered at some of the sites. Showers and regular bathrooms are offered on the grounds. Staff is extremely friendly, helpful, and polite. They truly make you feel at home. Many activities (pool, hayrides, arcade, mini golf, pool tables, hiking trails, batting cages) to entertain all age ranges. Only complaint = mini golf. It was on the expensive side, especially considering how pitiful the course is. All in all, we'd go back there again. Very pleasant experience.
PROS: friendliness and cleanliness
CONS: overpriced pitiful mini golf
SRI Shoe Warehouse Inc
Talk about an amazing selection of shoes! SRI has it! Everything from children's to men's to women's. With the biggest selection being in the women's department. Understandable since it is us women who have the shoe fetish! SRI advertises super low prices - however, I find the prices to be average. Now, if I was used to paying $90+ for shoes, then yes, I would find SRI's prices to be big time bargains. Unfortunately, their prices are what I consider normal. Store was very clean. Shoes and sizes are easy to find and reach. All in all a pleasant shopping experience.
PROS: selection
CONS: misleading ads regarding prices
Celine Dion in "A New Day"
What an amazing performance! Celine is a superb entertainer and she outdoes herself in A NEW DAY. Ushers were friendly and very helpful in finding seats. I always thought the price of her tickers was outrageous. However, my sister stumbled upon a price break: buying the tickets the day before the show. They tend to be 1/2 price at that time. For 1/2 price, I can afford to see her show! And see it from decent seats! Beautiful voice! Amazing effects! Great dancers! Love how Celine converses with the audience. If I have the $$, I'll definitely be catching this show next time I am in Las Vegas.
PROS: her voice; her personality; overall quality of the show
CONS: regular price of tickets
Century 18 Sam's Town
A very friendly and clean movie theater! The latest movies are always showing. Prices are typical for movie theaters in the Vegas area. Staff is always friendly and willing to recommend a good movie. The only negative is having to walk through the smokey and busy casino to get to the box office and theater. I wish they had an outside entrance in order to avoid the smokiness. Especially when I have children with me.
PROS: quality and cleanliness
CONS: have to walk through casino to get to theater
The Little Gym of Greensboro
When it comes to entertaining children for a birthday party, I think The Little Gym does an ok job for 3 yr olds and older. However, my experience with them was when my son was under 1. I was taking a mommies class at Women's Hospital and staff from The Little Gym had been invited to our class to discuss gross motor activities to do with our children (all who were under 1 yr of age). The activities they demonstrated for us (and had us participate in doing) were completely INAPPROPRIATE for the age of our children. (This is a FACT: I shared the activities with a PHYSICAL THERAPIST and she was appalled that Little Gym was promoting these activities as good for children under 1.) One would think that people IN the business of 'exercising' our children would KNOW what is appropriate and not appropriate for a variety of age ranges. Very disappointed. I have never signed up for a class. I never will. And I will never recommend anyone with young young children use The Little Gym
PROS: nothing
CONS: inappropriateness of exercises used with young young children
Edward Mc Kay Used Books-More
Definitely a great used book store -- great prices! great selection of books, DVDs, VHS, music! great selection of adult titles! The staff is friendly. The store is always clean. The only disappointing feature: their children's book selection. The Greensboro location has an amazing children's selection. I expected to find the same at the Winston Salem selection. Not so. This wouldn't keep me away if I lived in Winston Salem -- but considering I live in Greensboro, I won't be traveling to WS just for McKay's.
PROS: prices, location, selection of adult titles
CONS: selection of children's titles
Edward Mc Kay Used Books-More
Every time I enter McKay's, I feel at home. The staff greets everyone with a warm "HELLO!" The book selection is wonderful. The prices are superb! My favorite section is the children's area. Other used book stores usually have a poor selection children's books. Not so at McKay's. The selection of children's books is wonderful! My 4 year old always manages to find a stack of books -- everything from fiction to easy readers to chapter books to fact. Trading your books is quite easy and the credit you receive is very reasonable (sometimes it is evey quite generous!). I am always amazed at how knowledgeable the staff is regarding book genre and titles. (Mainly b/c all my questions usually center around children's books.) The only negative is parking -- but that doesn't keep me away. I'd rather park in the strip mall next door and walk to McKay's then decide not to visit there. Book lovers check out this haven of books.
PROS: prices, selection of children's books
CONS: parking
Toys & Co
This is a wonderful toy store. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Once they didn't have what I wanted to buy (although they carried many items from the same manufacturer), the district manager offered to special order it for me at no additional cost. This is definitely a full service toy store -- they will gladly wrap your purchases for you. There is even a play area to entertain your children while you shop. They have a great selection of $1-2 items -- great for stocking stuffers or a special treat!
PROS: service and quality of products
CONS:
