PYLGSA
I played for them for two years. My softball abilities were not good, so i gave up on them. I had a weird coach my first year. I think that they should have a few more restrictions on who coaches, but he was still fine. The uniforms for this league are a little different depending on the team. They keep up the fields and run the snack shack well. Great organization.
JUSA
I played for JUSA for about 13 years. One of my friend's mom and another's dad were the coaches. I dont know what it was but we were always "that" team you know the one that always looses. I enjoyed soccer so I didnt mind. I liked to play for fun. Then I moved to Texas and was on a winning team and well that can be fun too! JUSA does a good job of scheduling and rescheduling games and communicating with team moms (my mom was one for years). Having kids involved in activities and sports is imporatant, keep them away from those video games.
Forest Home Ministries
I went here for both church camps, girl scout camp, and 6th grade out door ed. I like the camp grounds and the little cabins. They have tons of actitvities. At all the camps I atteneded you usually had a time where you ahd to help in the kitchen which is great to teach kids about helping. Also you had to share your cabin with people you knew and didnt knwo so you were taught to get along with others. I would definitley reccomend this to parents.
Vista Verde Liquor & Market
This is in the middle of a bunch of houses so when we were little we would walk here and get some candy and a cold drink during the summer. They have recently updated the faclities so that it is a brand new building. It looks a lot nicer then it did back in the day. Stop for a drink and a snack
Pacific Sunwear Of Ca Inc
I worked here for a brief time during one of my summers of college. It is such a neat place to observe the designing of their own brand and they buying process of other brands. They have great benefits for their employees, a gym, cafeteria, car wash service. I would work for this company again everyone is friendly for the most part, yet there is a high turnover for buyers.
Jeweler's Touch
My mom sister and I are all enrolled in their diamond exchange program. You can upgrade your diamond earrings and pay the difference instead of having to start over! You do have to trade in your old pair but who needs small diamonds right? I also purchased a beautiful chain to go with a diamond pendant my boyfirend gave me. They have wonderful customer service and have some sales throughout the year. I go here becasue i trust the peoples knowledge and the quality of the jewlery. If i am going to spend hundreds of dollars i want the best!
Trader Joe's
This is a small location and always very busy. I often get annoyed. I love the products offered at Trader Joes but there is too much going on in this store. They give you a cart but you have no where to push it.. not my fav. I like the Brea location much much better.
Tall Mouse Arts & Crafts
This was the only craft store around for quit some time. They have a great selection of supplies and their employees know what they are talking about. Michaels always seems cluttered and I can never find anyone to help me. This place feels more local even though there are a few locations. When I have time in the summer I like to attempt some crafts an have always come here for my supplies.
Lamppost Pizza
Since i was a little soccer player (started at age 3) the team parties were held here. They have video games in the front and 3 separate eating areas for parities in the back. They have big screen TVs so it is also a great place to watch sports games. In high school this was the place to come after the football games. There is an area in the front and back where people would hang out. They often have deals on pizza with deal cards and coupons. Good pizza and good times!
Friends Clothing Store
I used to frequent this street to go to the movies with my friends. I liked this little store becasue it has trendy clothes at affordable prices. However the sizes tend to run a little small so dont feel bad if you have to go a size up. The quality is ok but you will not pay an arm and leg for a trendy top that you may only wear a few times. It is right on Birch street so it isnt that convient for parking but if you are spending some time there i would park at the end of the street by the grocery store, less hassle then the parking garages.
