Ozarks Technical Community College
Ozarks Technical Community College is growing in both size and reputation. I had great experiences in both for-credit and not-for credit courses. Tuition costs are low and teachers are skilled. I have been most impressed by their constantly-growing non-credit course offerings from everything from foreign languages to business classes to flower arranging to cooking. As a lifelong learner, I will continue to take their non-credit education classes.
Christian Publishers Outlet
Christian Publisher's Outlet is at a great location, close to a couple major intersections and a state highway. It offers discount prices on books, gifts, and CDs and has a great selection of all three, plus a growing selection of great gift cards. The prices are fantastic. The music selection allows customers to preview CDs before purchase, which has been a big selling point for me. Salespeople are friendly and very helpful.
Palace Theater
The Palace Theater is for entertaining the masses in movies that have left the first run theaters but not come out on DVD yet (usually)--at any rate, the last chance to view the show on the big screen. The prices are good (though steadily increasing since the theater opened) and the theater is generally pretty clean. The location is great, off several major roads and a nearby highway. Parking is adequate, though it is harder to find a spot on weekend nights.
Gospel Pubg House
Berean College of the Assemblies of God offers primarily classes required to obtain certification, licensure and ordination as a minister in the Assemblies of God. In the same building, they also offer undergraduate and graduate degrees through Global University. The staff is friendly and helpful, there is a quick turnaround for getting class test results back, and they make it easy and convenient to pick up your orders from the front desk to save on postage if you live in the area.
Balboa Bed Co
Balboa Bed Company offers good, friendly service and has a great selection of mattresses of all sizes on site so you can "try out" what you're looking for. I liked the business but had a hard time with the parking, as the store is on a main, busy street and it's easy to get blocked in if you stay long. Balboa offers delivery.
Cox Fitness Center
Cox Fitness Center's north location is a fabulous place to work out. It's not in the safest neighborhood, but security is provided. The facility is open 24 hours a day and has three floors: the ground floor has offices, a jacuzzi, and changing rooms with saunas; the second floor has a weight room and a room with treadmills and EFXs; and the third floor has a track and additional treadmills and EFXs and stationery bikes. The facility offers family packages and great prices.
Hoover Music Co Inc
Hoover Music is at a great location near downtown. They seem to offer a little bit of everything, from a pretty decent guitar selection, digital pianos, other musical instruments and extras (like clarinet reeds), sheet music, and more. They also have rooms and teachers for private lessons, and they do instrument repair. It's a one-stop shop!
Springfield 8 Movie Theater
Springfield 8 boasts 8 cinema rooms and decent prices--slightly cheaper than the other main cinema in town. My favorite thing about this theater is that they occasionally show foreign or otherwise more obscure movies. Often in the summer, they have discount children's movies. Parking abounds and the theater is in a great location off major roads and the highway. It is definitely my choice when moviegoing in the Springfield area.
Campbell 16 Cine
Besides being the newest and largest movie theater in town there is nothing really spectacular about this theater. It has 16 cinema rooms, some with stadium seating. There are better deals around town, except for the "Rush Hour" prices between 4 and 6 p.m. Parking becomes a challenge after 7 p.m. on weekend nights.
Soma Massage Therapy Of Spring
I had a great experience at the SOMA Wellness Center. I have had massages before, but never by a man, but he was extremely professional. SOMA takes great care to provide a good massage and though it's a training center, I feel like I got a great massage for a great price! Afterward they ask for feedback to improve their services, which I was impressed by.
