With our without children, beautiful weather, or rainy and cold, you can find something gorgeous here.
It's newly remodled and takes some getting used to parking/entrance, etc. but once you are in, you can see amazing canvases, sculpture, ethnic artifacts and incredible pop and contemporary art (my favorite area). Even my five year old is entertained here. And you can't beat the FREE pricetag!!
Butler has incredible undergraduate programs, but is also well known for it's MBA and Education graduate programs. They have a principle ed. program that is harder to find here in town, and do a very personalized degree program, even for grad students.
It doesn't have a fancy alarm system, check in/out system, etc. but this daycare has a wonderful staff, kind and caring administrators, and a good program for little ones.
They are a bit lacking in curriculum once the kids hit four, but for a daycare that is affordable and safe, I was happy here, as was my daughter.
I'm not even a teacher, and I go nuts in here. Your usual teacher supplies are here, but also great educational toys, crafting ideas, and gift ideas for your children.
Take an afternoon and walk around. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but once you're inside, you'll be happy.
My daughter will be in Kdg here this fall, and so far all contact wtih staff has said she'll be in the right place.
All our neighbor kids say this is the school to be in if you're in Pike Township. I love that they do uniforms, even for a public school.
Prices are good on most services here. If you are looking for a drastic change, go with your most trusted stylist, but for a mani/pedi, facial, easy cut...this is where to go.
After being sold the absolutely WRONG vaccum cleaner at another location, this store's customer service desk went out of their way to be sure I could replace it. Including calling Castleton for the original receipt, helping me select the replacement honestly and realisitically, even allowing me to borrow their phone to call my husband when it looked like I'd be spending more than we'd originally talked about.
The salesman was knowledgeable, and understanding my anger at being sold something different than what we needed originally, was great at recommending a replacement. He didn't even try to upsell me, which I know he could have done easily, to the models up to two hundred dollars more than the one I ended up getting.
You need a vaccum? Stay away from Castleton. Go here.
I had my facial here a week before my wedding, and loved the experience. It was my first one, and now I'm hooked.
I have referred out of town guests here for "days of beauty" and they appreciated their convenient northside location, as well as the fair pricing on the services received.
These guys were great when my contract expired and I needed to alter my plan, drop my husband's phone, and get a new phone. Turns out much of that business needs to be done over the phone, and they were kind in pointing that out.
But instead of upselling me to buy a phone beyond my needs, they encouraged me to keep my phone and not renew a contract until the phone actually broke.
How many retailers will do this??
You'll get pennies on the dollar for your "sold" books, CDs, etc. They can only pay a portion of what they will be selling it for. Considering the great prices on the sale items, you won't get much.
Take my advice and donate them to the Julian Center, get a receipt and take a tax deduction if you want some of your investment back.
