On the Border is easily my favorite local restaurant. As soon as you site down, they bring over a basket of homemade tortilla chips and homemade salsa. They are delicious!!! And theyll keep bringing more as long as you want. This restaurant has the best strawberry margheritas in the world, available in 2 sizes. The huge one is only $6.49 a great value for the size. Their entrees are delicious too, and relatively affordable. The only downside is that the wait can be very long, especially on a weekend night. They also have a section which is called the patio (its indoors but has big open-up windows) beautiful in the summer!!
Harrows is a long-standing tradition in the area. They offer chicken pies is all sorts of sizes, to feed 1 or to feed many. They can be bought cold or if you call ahead, they will cook it for you, and you can pick it up and bring it right to your table. They also offer versions with all white meat or mixed and vegetables or no vegetables. These pies are delicious, the crust is always great. The price is average, a bit more than fast food, but way less than a restaurant. They also sell sides to go with your pie (mashed potatoes, etc)
I have been to this Walmart photo studio many times. SOme times I love the pictures, sometimes I am very disappointed. There is one photographer that is very rude and does not work well with children. The other photographers have all bene great. The photos are very affordbale, and if they come back damaged, you can call the 800 number and they will send replacements right away.
The First Congregational Church in Reading offers many programs to its members and the community. Dinners, ski and skate sales, mothers groups, and beautiful church. If you are looking to try a local church, this one definately offers a lot.
Snip[ its usually has a long wait, but we feel it is worth it to have our kids hair cut by Thomas. He is older and has an accent, and he is wonderful. He always remembers my kids (or pretends to well) and cuts their hair just as we ask. Snip its offers kids constant entertainment and snacks while they're having their hair cut. Worth the few extra bucks.
I have been to Laschis twice. The first time was for a haircut. I brought a friend with me and told the hairdresser that I wanted the exact same haircut. I was very clear about what I wanted. My hair looked absolutely nothing like what I had asked for. It was much shorter and all one length; pretty much opposite to what I asked for. The second visit was for a blow dry for a wedding. It did not come out very good, and they charged me $35 for the service. Very overpriced, and not great service, I felt.
I have attended the Burlington location of Northeastern University for 8 years. It is very convenient for people who want to attend Northeastern but dont want to drive into the city. The parking is ample and there is a bookstore and small cafeteria on the premises. Everything you need to finish up your degree can be found at this location.
My family has used Bills Auto for almost 20 years. We have brought many many cars there. We have basically been happy with all the service we have received. Billy generally fixes a car the same day you bring it in, unless it is a really extensive job. Sometimes he even has loaner cars too. I think the prices are probably average, but good, personal service.
I used to go to Jiffy Lube all the time. Howver, 4 months in a row, I was not happy with the work. They are supposed to have this long list of things they automatically do, like vacuuming the floors and filling wiper fluid. 4 months in a row, the small things like these were not done. I actually called the Jiffy Lube headquarters and expressed my disappointment, and they said they would be sending me a certificate for a free oil change, but that never came.
I have used Meineke in Reading several times. Each time I have found them to be honest and trustworthy. Twice I took my car in becuase I thought I needed new brakes, and they took the brakes apart to check, put them back together and told me my brakes did not need to be replaced. There was no charge for this.I found this to be very surprising; I think usually car repair places tend to exaggerate what you need done. I was very impressed with the business and the employees.
